Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very disappointed! We are senior couple of priority members, hoping to have a relaxed Easter weekend, but it was a disaster! We had specifically requested a quiet room on our online reservation. But the hotel put us on a floor with some sort of sports team, mostly teenagers and their parents. The noise from the rooms and corridor went on all night until approx. 3 am. The noise continued even after we complained to the front desk at 1 am. We did not hear from the hotel, it never got back to me even after I sent a written email complaining to the management. On top of that, the hotel charged me a bottle water after I checked out, and admitted that it was a mistake. Don't go there! April 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff are very professional and nice; bed is comfortable and location is excellent. We like the central location which is close to the Metro and the Old Montreal and its attractions. March 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the Theme and Decor Awesome weekend away. I would love to come back and stay here again. I think there needs to be advertisements and directions to the Underground City for people who love to shop. Breakfast was wonderful and the servers were very attentive. March 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service I would like to thanks all of you guys almost everything was perfect March 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Bed and Great Service. The front desk and the accommodations were great. Overall the stay was excellent and service from all the staff was great. March 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst experience ever So I stayed here at this hotel for 2 days during the March Break. Apparently, during my stay there was some group of teenagers staying here, and security kept hassling me and asking for some wristband to prove I was part of their trip. I was here staying with the hotel, and not apart of this trip. Security was not even employed by the hotel. They should have not allowed me to be hassled during my stay. Would never recommended this location to anyone. March 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific location, reasonable rates, tired rooms/hallways. Stayed 3 nights in a TRES G LIT FUMEUR KING EXECUTIVE N SMK. (Executive king room with breakfast). Pros: + Above-average room size for downtown Montreal + Comfortable bed with 2 firm and 2 soft pillows and quality duvet/sheets + Clean room + Large bathroom with ample counter space + Rooms along Viger have balconies and a pleasant view + Helpful and friendly staff who know Montreal inside out and have useful maps - just ask! + Chez Chine has a fantastic breakfast spread with a wide variety of fresh fruit and hot items + 2nd-floor lobby features a tranquil, well-maintained pond with koi fish + Steps from Chinatown, underground Metro subway, Convention Centre, Jazzfest etc. (10-minute walk to VIA rail station) + Efficient elevators, never waited more than 1 minute Cons: - Water pressure very weak; warm water often took 30+ seconds - Dated showerhead should be updated with newer ergonomic offerings seen at most HI properties - Lacks a comfortable relaxing evening chair (the current firm offering is way too stiff and upright); desk chair worn out - Child-sized toilet is impractical - No robe in room (as listed in room description); no closet door, evidently fell off the hinges and was never replaced - No HD channels Could be a pro or a con: +/- Rooms a bit dated with old technology (1980s phones, alarm clock); though unique Asian lamps, artwork etc. +/- Recognized as a platinum member, though no tangible benefits (drink voucher, room upgrade etc.) Overall, a good value for downtown Montreal if you can look past the dated rooms and public areas. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Really poor service at desk & bar .... Nothing is done to help you when you need something. I really has been disappointed by te staff of this hotel. I don't recommand this hotel February 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good review Despite all the (mostly) bad reviews I was a bit skeptical to book my stay in Montreal in this specific hotel. I was using the priorityclub points but even the regular price for a hotel night is worth the stay. For sure the hotel has come into some years and the renovation should be be up soon but it was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful, parking was easy and appropriately priced, hot water was available, the heater worked, bed was comfortable and it was very easy accessible... Cannot say anything about food & beverage since I did not use any. Moreover, I spent the the night of New Year's Eve in the hotel where the staff managed the "heavily" drunk teenager pretty well and even though there were a couple of "false" fire alarms I felt at ease after the message from the hotel staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody and I can assure you that I have seen much worse hotels in the "western hemisphere" for much higher prices... January 7, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Holiday Inn As a platinum elite member with the priority club i have stayed at many IHG properties and this was by far the worst. Very dated rooms and and the bathrooms had hair on the toilet and in the sink. The parking garage floor looked like it was falling apart as well. who knows where else they are being cheep! I asked to be moved to another room and that one was no better. The staff did provide me with a free breakfast for the trouble but I was still very disappointed. November 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FIRST CLASS!...EXCELENT! First class service from check-in to check-out!....I will return again soon!... November 24, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Slow Service and Average Rooms Usually Holiday Inn is my go-to hotel brand... on this visit, they did not live up to their usual customer service. Room Service was horrible, i tried the room service line for about 30 minutes until I called the operator to complain. Food was sub par. That night I put the door hanger on my door for breakfast to be delievered the next morning... I waited over an hour past the expected delivery time and then I had to leave for my meetings. When I told the lady at the front desk, she didn't seem shocked and was unsympathetic. The heat in my room didn't work, or should I say it did but the heater made a loud clanking noise that would make it impossible to sleep. Other than that, the beds were comfortable and the overall room was very clean. November 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Above and Beyond!!! Though there was a lockout during the time of the visit, the salaried staff was excellent at taking care of us. Breakfast was terrific, the rooms were taken care of, and everyone was cordial. I especailly want to mention Jackie (?) who was always in a good mood despite her long hours! The Priority club suite was wonderful and all of us would recommend this Holiday Inn to others! The salaried staff went above and beyond................... November 12, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad experience The rooms were dirty and there was no distinction for priority club members. November 2, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Save Your Money This place is disgusting. I stay in many Holiday Inns and other Priority Club properties and this was the worst ever. The carpeting looked like it was from the 50s and cleaned maybe once since then. The lobby area looked like they started a few projects and never completed them. The variety of food at their breakfast buffet was minimal, at best. Almost forgot-, the matress was also vintage 1950- just like the carpet. October 18, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by overall The place badly needs an overhaul: gouged door in room; lights not working; sad carpets; concierge doubling as bellboy; bartender doubling as cook; in house restaurant closed on Mondays. The location is excellent: an easy walk to Old Town, Chinatown, shopping, the Metro, and Convention Center. Taxis always available. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, reasonable for the cost. October 15, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best deals in town We visit Montreal several times a year. This Holiday Inn is one of the best deals around regarding price-value. It's right on the edge of the Old City, across the street from the Metro, and has a great Chinese Restaurant inside. The rooms are always clean and the staff very pleasant. The bar area could use a little sprucing up and the hours for the bar are not that convenient, but a minor point since there are plenty of spots just over the hill in Old Port.. October 7, 2012
