We were very happy with our decision to stay at Holiday Inn Montreal-Midtown.
Our room with an excellent view was modern and comfortable.
The staff was very helpful, and the location is excellent.
If I return to Montreal, I will definitely stay here again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cheryl3893 Great Montreal Experience
The room was comfortable and clean. We arrived before the normal check-in time but the staff were wonderful about accommodating us and allowing us to get into our room early.
The Holiday Inn Midtown is in an awesome location. We were conveniently on the outskirts of Old Montreal so allowed a short but pleasurable walk to many of the sites (Notre Dame Basilica, Port, etc...) The weather was awesome and just added to the experience. Finally, my husband and I really enjoy jazz and blues. A flier for the House of Jazz was located in the Hotel room information guide. The hotel was just minutes away from The House of Jazz.. The food and entertainment there were awesome. This was my husband's first trip to Montreal and it's a place we'd definitely consider visiting again. Thanks Montreal!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dacker You get what you pay for, or less
I stayed here from August 20-22 with my grandson. First problem: reservation for corporate floors which was not honored because someone had overstayed. Second: key would not work for alternate room on lower floor due to non-functioning door lock. This was only relieved after hauling luggage up and down stairs. We were reassigned a room. Third: lamp on dresser had been unplugged and required maintenance to plug it into what looked like a very over-loaded plug. Fourth: Wifi difficult to get on. We were, however, offered service from Hilton next door which clearly had a better signal. We were given one night's parking comp and a coupon for breakfast. Restaurant is terrible. In the middle of Quebec, maple syrup area, who would expect cheap syrup which left French toast inedible? Glad we didn't have to pay for it.
Must not forget the parking. A nightmare to register and then back up a car into below ground parking. I am used to parking attendants on hand in lobby to help.
Manager did apologize, but I think he is swimming against the tide.

The location is central and close to everything. Hotel was great fo us as we had a large german shepherd dog and everyone was nice to her. Only complaint is that the bathrooms are old with a child sized tub. Both the sink and shower drain was super slow so you had to stand in backed up water and wash your face quickly before the wash basin filled up.
Friendly, helpful staff.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beerguy1 Hotel needs upgrading
The room was clean and the beds comfortable, however... The bathroom door lock did not work. The bathroom door was also sticking at the top corner, so once closed it was difficult to open... a child would not be able to open it. And although the shower appeared to be pressure balanced, it could not maintain a temperature, and kept getting too hot or too cold. I had to make repairs to the drape rods to get them to close...
The only redeeming qualities for this hotel is that it was clean, and in the location we wanted.

The staff is overwhelmed as there are only 1-2 check-in staff. However, there are staff in the backroom so the Priority check-in line is not respected.
They need to allocate staff more efficiently.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Philc19 Very Disappointed
Sadly, I've stayed in almost every hotel chain in Canada, from west to east coast and was incredibly disappointed with the overall experience at this hotel.
Chambermaids were incredibly loud (even though I was on the 17th - exec level), talking in loud voices and vacuuming at 7 am.
Had to wait 20 minutes to check in as only one employee was at front desk. Same thing applied when checking out.
No dedicated employee to handle Rewards Club Members.
Lobby/front desk employee mis-quoted hotel policy and ended up charging me for parking ($26.50) after having previously informed me parking was n/c as I was part of a wedding party.
All in all, terrible stay and certainly will look for alternative arrangements going forward.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Burnaby Very disappointing
Having travelled a lot, this was possibly the noisiest hotel we have ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable but the bathrooms need updating and the plumbing obviously needs re-doing. Not only was our plumbing noisy but we could hear the toilet flushing and running water in nearby rooms as well. Considering the price, definitely not worth it. The only good thing was the location which we couldn't fault.

great location, just a few short blocks from just for laughs/nuits d'africque fests and less than 10 blocks from beaux arts museum. great staff, especially the parking garage guys who let us keep our bikes in the garage. we used points so the value was great and it even included a continental breakfast. indoor pool to cool off.

When in the festival season in Montreal, you can't get better location than here. Close to all the action, you can come back to relax a bit or refresh yourself for a couple of hours, and then you're back in the middle of it all in a few minutes walk.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by TimStruppi Poor internal staff communication
The stay was unremarkable in every respect, except for the following negative instance.
With the stay I also purchased valet parking which covered until 5 p.m. on the check-out day. When I checked in I asked the staff person how much it would cost to extend the parking until 7 p.m. on the check-out day. She made a phone call with the parking staff (who seem to belong to a different company), and then told me they would waive any additional parking fee, which I thankfully accepted.
On the check-out day another staff person was at the desk, and she would not know about the waiving. Far from believing me, she did not even make any effort to listen to the details I told her and only kept repeating to me that additional parking comes at additional cost. She finally only picked up the phone to call the parking lot after I repeatedly asked her to do so. Apparently the person she called was not informed either, by which time she considered the issue to be settled. Only after I spoke to her manager and he again made a phone call, was the issue resolved.
I am thankful for the waiving of the parking fee, but let me emphasize that I did not ask for it. I was not so much upset about the prospect of having to pay more for parking, which I was prepared to do in the first place. But what made me angry was the poor communication between the hotel staff (does not matter that parking is outsourced to a different company) which made me look rather embarassing. And instead of the hotel staff taking the initiative to resolve the matter, I had to justify and push for every single step they would take to get themselves informed properly.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ronnie60 Great Location to Old Montreal but average stay
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and was disappointed with our stay. We requested queen size beds and got double instead and they would not change our room because they were fully booked. The hotel mentioned being newly renovated but did not say up to which floors as we were on the 10th floor and our room smelt musky. The view was the hotel next door. The bathroom was smalll and the sink was separated outside the bathroom ( not very hygienic). The cleaning staff were good at changing the beddings and towels each day but they should dust the room after each stay. The coffee/tea shop was good and pleasant staff but don't each at the restaurant if you help it. The decor is old, the food overpriced and was served luke warm. Overall the location is great for Old Montreal but I would say a less than average stay at this hotel.

Excellent front desk service and bar service was let down by terrible service in the Ace deli restaurant. I was the only person in there and was still waiting after 20 mins for someone to take my order, wasn't even offered a drink, I left and went somewhere else.
I stay at this hotel many times a year and have always found it great, but I may look elswhere for next time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ande63 bed too soft but wonderful room darkening curtains!
Arriving, finally, and getting the car squared away, checking in was a breeze. Everything went very smoothly. I had reserved 2 rooms and they did try to keep us as close together as possible. And it truly was a blessing to have our luggage brought to us by the bellman!
We really like having a mattress that is a lot more firm than the one that we had. But we slept in from the edges and it wasn't as bad there. The room darkening curtains were wonderful. We almost overslept because no light came thru!! Even though our room was on the main street, no noise or light bothered us.
We ate a quick lunch the day we arrived in the restaurant downstairs. We had a nice waitress so we tried to return for dinner that evening. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to come to our table, we left. But being stubborn Yankees, we went back the following evening and had yet another great server and the food was good. The cocktails were just okay.
The concierge, George, was most helpful. He was always there with a smile on his face. And bless him, because looking at the volume of people passing thru there each day, he has his work cut out for him!
Every place can have its glitches and, let's face it; 'stuff' happens. So having said that, I would return there and I would recommend it also.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jonathan12345 Nice room, bad service
I stayed at the holiday Inn, Montreal on Sherbrooke, with friends on July 3rd-6th. We booked 2 rooms.
After I had reserved both rooms a week or so in advance, I called while on route to let the hotel know we would be checking in late. We arrived a 1:30am, checked in with no problems. Upon inspection, my room was not clean. The bed sheets had not been cleaned and were tossed about, someone had been watching tv and left the remote on the bed beside propped up pillows.
A new room as given, no explanation, no apology.
When we checked the cars into the valet, they did not give us a ticket stub, which meant that when we went to retrieve the car it was a long hassle.
When we attempted to use the in room safe, it was not functioning and a repair man was forced to come.
Finally, the act that angered me the most. When I checked in i expressly told the front clerk that my girlfriend was coming in the next day, late afternoon. He had me write her name on a envelope with the time she would arrive so that a key could be given while I hosted a wedding party.
Not only did they not give her the key, they insisted that I had never told them, that I must have forgotten and had never made a computer entry, nor looked at the envelope taped to the desk beside the computer.
After 30 minutes of her attempting to reach me, I called and the staff found the envelope and again no apologies, nor did they clear the air.
She was late for her engagement, I was put in an ill light and forced to defend my actions. If not for my personal handwriting on the envelope it might have ended very badly.
I am disappointed with your hotel. I do not expect exceptional service, but these were simple requests, handled badly.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by harley2013 Wonderful manager, very accommodating!
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Montreal Midtown for six nights. When I found out that my apartment was not ready, the manager was able to extend my reservation even during a busy time for the hotel which was very much appreciated. My only complaints are that housekeeping was very loud from 7am to 5pm especially with the vacuum. The room was clean but it was an average room, not like the ones I have stayed in before at the same hotel. But otherwise I had a pleasant stay and will stay here again on my next visit to Montreal.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Montreal Midtown for 6 nights. The manager was great in getting me some extra nights to be able to stay when I couldn't move into my apartment as I had planned. My only complaints are that housekeeping was very noisy especially with the vacuum at seven in the morning and continued until five in the evening. The room I had was clean however, it wasn't as nice as other rooms I have had in the same hotel. Otherwise, I had a fantastic stay and plan to stay there again in the future.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 1g4n Excellent lobby and resaturant
The lobby in this hotel is great and smells great as well, the staff at the front desk are very nice as well.I was impressed with the food in the restaurant along with the wifi in the restaurant(aces) and throughout the hotel. The dissapointing thing was that this hotel has an awesome pool and hot tub,but it closes at 6:00p.m. on Sundays and we only went for 1 night on Sunday night and looked forward to using the pool and that was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel,so maybe the pool should close at 10:00 or 11:00 because some people come from far out of Quebec and have a 10 hour drive to 24 hour drives and look forward to getting to this beautiful hotel but then they get their and find out the pools closed and their dissapointed and might not come back. They might not go back to any Holiday inn if they think their pools close so early.Consider that please, thats what people know what Holiday inns all about, customer service and pleasing the guests.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tou2013 Old and small bathroom and cigarette smell
In general this seems like an old hotel, although the room seemed to be renovated the bathroom is still very small and old. I asked for an non smoking room but the one that they gave me had a notorious smell to cigarette, they changed me to another room but due that the hotel was full, the only option they had was to give me a King size bedroom instead of the doble room as I originally had booked.

Room had a microwave and small refrigerator, newly renovated and very comfortable bed. There was a sofa and table for relaxing and room was spacious. Enjoyed our stay one of the better Holiday Inns we have stayed at although the traffic noise is a factor. If you want complete quiet it's not ideal but the location was fabulous, close to Metro and a grocery store a block away so we could enjoy breakfast in our room. Great little coffee shop downstairs so we could get good coffee for our breakfast..

Your hotel was selected as the conference hotel for the BiofuelNet Annual General Meeting, which I attended.
As a conference venue, and because I did not think to question the choice made by the organizers, I was disappointed to find that:
-the hotel was overloaded with bus loads of high school students at the same time, whose morning schedule coincided exactly with mine. The elevators were jammed always.
-my room on the 7th floor was in dire need of renovation. Carpet soiled, paint peeling. No proper desk to sit at to use my laptop, only a corner table. The blinds could not be closed so that I was awakened by the full sun shining in my east-facing window at 5 am each morning.
-my reservation was made for a king size, non smoking room. When I arrived, this was not available. I arrived just after lunch, and no room would be available until after 3 pm. With this three hour lead time, the hotel should have been able to accomodate my needs.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sarma Excellent location, friendly staff
I just spent three nights in this hotel for a very reasonable price (mind you, there was a group booking deduction). It was an excellent experience: the staff were very forthcoming, the room was very clean and convenient, and, last but not least, the location is probably among the best in the city. It is located downtown and very close to the trendy and most interesting boulevard St. Laurent.
I should also mention an excellent swimming pool for people, who, like myself, like to do morning lap swims. It's one of the best such facilities in any hotel I've been to (and, I travel as many as 20-30 times a year).
The overall experience for me was very positive.
