Your hotel was selected as the conference hotel for the BiofuelNet Annual General Meeting, which I attended.
As a conference venue, and because I did not think to question the choice made by the organizers, I was disappointed to find that:
-the hotel was overloaded with bus loads of high school students at the same time, whose morning schedule coincided exactly with mine. The elevators were jammed always.
-my room on the 7th floor was in dire need of renovation. Carpet soiled, paint peeling. No proper desk to sit at to use my laptop, only a corner table. The blinds could not be closed so that I was awakened by the full sun shining in my east-facing window at 5 am each morning.
-my reservation was made for a king size, non smoking room. When I arrived, this was not available. I arrived just after lunch, and no room would be available until after 3 pm. With this three hour lead time, the hotel should have been able to accomodate my needs.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sarma Excellent location, friendly staff
I just spent three nights in this hotel for a very reasonable price (mind you, there was a group booking deduction). It was an excellent experience: the staff were very forthcoming, the room was very clean and convenient, and, last but not least, the location is probably among the best in the city. It is located downtown and very close to the trendy and most interesting boulevard St. Laurent.
I should also mention an excellent swimming pool for people, who, like myself, like to do morning lap swims. It's one of the best such facilities in any hotel I've been to (and, I travel as many as 20-30 times a year).
The overall experience for me was very positive.

I stayed in the hotel for the last itme June2013 and I went to get the ice from ice machine (which was 2 floors down) and found it broken and not working. I came to the room and called the front desk , they asked me to contact the restaurant, I called them and they said it is not their responsibility. I called th efront desk and they promised to bring the ice after 5 mintues. Someone came after my second call after 20 min. Not happy they way they deal with me as I am a gold member

Did not get the room I reserved a long time ahead. Bed and pillows were not comfortable. I had to call room service to get towels. Long waiting time for parking valet service. I noticed that my car was scratched (on bumper). Being a regular customer at HI, I was very disappointed with this particular stay.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lidge13 Watch out for parking
The hotel insofar as the room and amenities was fine. It was clean and staff were pleasant and friendly. It did take 15 minutes or so to check in as there were only 2 front desk staff members working and neither of them were particularly quick. We initially were given keys to a room that was not available so we had to go back down and get a new room. No big deal. The parking was the biggest disappointment. We learned at the front desk that parking in the Holiday Inn garage was an extra $26.00 dollars a night. That hidden cost made the overall price of the stay more than we wanted to spend. The Valet drivers were quick however very irresponsible in the driving of the vehicles. As we waited for our vehicle to arrive we heard multiples tires screech and saw a driver gun it through a narrow lane. We made sure to inspect our car before driving off. No damages but we were still annoyed. Overall, $181 seemed steep for this experience even in the heart of Montreal.

Excellent value for the money, great down-town location, fantastic staff, great hotel overall, and very comfortable room. We regularly travel to Montreal and only stay at this hotel, especially during the summer festivals: Jazz; Just for Laughs; Fireworks; etc. Last visit, we flew and did not drive. We also received a beautiful glass framed piece of art. It was too big for carry on and fragile. The concierge made it their mission to ensure we got this thing home safely by literally wrapping it in hotel towels, duct tape, and carboard - they had no bubble wrap and we did not know where to even try to find the stuff given that our plane was takling off the next morning. It and we arrived safely at home. Every time I look at the artwork, I am reminded of this hotel staff and the kindness and care they showed me and our family. Highly recommend the Holiday Inn Montreal Midtown.

This was my first visit to Montreal and we planned on going to the Jazz club around the corner. From there we went club hopping and I went back to the room at around 2:00 in the morning alone. My room card didn't work so I went to the front desk and they told me his VISA card had insufficient funds. I told them that was impossible, I knew how much was in the account- first clue. They would allow me back in the room to get my bag and I was forced to rent another room. When my friend came back at 3:00 am he came to the 2nd room and he needed his wallet -the hotel staff were threatening to call the police. I had it in my purse. We both ended up downstairs again at the front desk. I tried to pay with my VISA debit and they said I had insuffiicient funds -second clue. I managed to put the bar and roomservice tab on my Visa and pay through another debit account -we had ordered a bottle of dom perignon before we went out so our tab was over $500.00. They allowed us back into the first room. I couldn't sleep trying to figure out why our cards wouldn't work. Then it dawned on me that they were running our VISA debit cards like VISA cards. When we left the next day the front desk -new staff- said the staff member who booked the reservation made the mistake. That doesn't excuse the staff from the previous night because the cards specifically say debit right under the VISA logo. We spent a small fortune at the hotel and were treated like criminals. Worst night of my life started when I went back to the comfort of our hotel.......thanks for ruining my Montreal experience! I don't often get the chance to travel but my job is booking flights and hotels for others.

Recently stayed for a family wedding..From the moment we parked the car,the greeting by the attendant was friendly and welcoming, cheerful and professional, and this is the feeling that has carried on by each individual we encountered at every station of their employment. Slightly disappointed that the rooms are not more modernized, site being downtown of a metropolitan city and the carpets in the rooms cleaner/more refreshed looking. Great stay overall.

We were 2 couples who stayed here for an liensing exam for myself. This motel was ridiculous for noise. People were all over the hallways shouting and screaming even after asking them to be quiet. Security was called, the police were called as well as a fight broke out between people then police cleared those visitors from their rooms. I had read the previous reviews for this motel but figured that it could not be that bad as some people may overexaggerate things as well as different weekends, different visitors. Unfortunately, i made a wrong choice. Location was suitable for where we needed to be. We stayed 2 nights and both nights we did not sleep. MY husband was in the washroom and had a cockroach crawl across his foot. He wasn;'t able to find it as it entered the bedroom so it was never found. We made a complaint to the manager and he refunded us one night for our experience but if you want to sleep this is definitely not the place to be.

I arrived at 3PM and I don't know if they were short of staff but I waited for an hour and a half to get to the lady behind the counter who first told me that there was no more room available even if I had made a reservation!!!!!
I finally got a horrible room with no fan in the bathroom, and the walls were so thin that I could hear the people breathing in the other room!

This is my favorite place to stay in Montreal. It is at the heart of everything. The Symphony, the art museum, and the St Denis restaurant district are close by. Old Montreal isn't far. The hotel has a good restaurant, a nice, colorful lounge, and good rooms. I often have to change business plans and I have always found the staff to be gracious, helpful, and obliging. Recommended.

I visited hotel on business. The front desk staff was very good however late shift was quite rude when asked to check keys that didn't open room. The hallway is kind of noisy as you can hear almost every time someone is talking. Can heard other guests in their room quite clear.
I noticed there is no self parking and the fact the valet was quite unattended a few times.
Would be a better experience if they can pay attention to their guest needs.

After a long drive to Montreal for our first trip to visit Quebec, we were disappointed to find that the much-advertised Salt Water Pool was "unavailable" due to some sort of Chemical issue. While we won't debate that this was done with guest safety in mind, it would have been useful for the front desk staff to advise us of this upon check-in, or at least to have put it on the Hotel Information channel on our Room TV. Then we would not have planned an evening around getting changed to go up there and be told that it would be closed "indefinitely". We did speak with the manager and a breakfast offer and room bump was made as a token of payback so that was certainly appreciated #not as much by the kids as myself, but still a fair tradeoff#. Upon Checkout, we had many bags #underground Shopping was nearby# and I was told by the Concierge downstairs that No - I could NOT take one of the many rolling carts sitting right there - but he would immediately send up someone "right away" while the Valet simultaneously pulled out the car. So while I got the car as promised #tying up the whole entrance area for anyone trying to get in or out#, 15 minutes went by and my wife and kids are not yet down with the Bellhop, who never showed! I could not communicate with her because her cell didn't work in Canada. So eventually they were stuck dragging down many assorted bags across the length of the hotel and the lobby while people honked at my car for tying up the Valet so long. Do I need/want a Valet? No. Do I need/want a Bellman or even Concierge at my hotel? No. Never have. But when you don't have an option to get your bags out to your own car in a timely manner and not inconvenience other guests you pay what is asked #tipwise# and consider that part of the experience/cost of traveling to a downtown location such as the Holiday Inn - Montreal. Neither the Conceirge or the Valet or Hotel Management came out to see why I was clogging up the main and only access point to the hotel with my engine running. The other guests were simply forced to wait at length and I'm sure thinking of rude American stereotypes I'd rather not perpetuate.
So... Was this a good Hotel? The bar was rather interesting and the bartenders were friendly all weekend. The Breakfast was good. The room was comfortable enough. The view was interesting and we liked watching the Searchlight every night. Not wanting to unnecessarily take the car out of Valet it was a reasonable walk to the Place Des Arts Metro. But the poor checkout scramble left a bad taste in our mouths. If you are going to insist on having Valet only Parking and Bellhop only usage of carts, please make sure both are professional and ready to assist. Or just throw us the keys and let us grab a cart, we are all more than capable of doing both much more efficiently than this hotel was operating.

I initially chose that hotel because of its convenient location in Montreal and my first stay at Christmas time which was OK. I would never have expected to have such a bad experience during the New Year's Eve period. On the arrival day I was told that I would be upgraded to an executive room on the 18th floor because the hotel was rather booked by young partyers who came for the New Year's Eve celebration.
I could not sleep during the first night because the so-called executive room was located just beneath an air-conditioning system pipe, they changed me then to a room located on 17th floor which was quieter. On the New Year's Eve evening the hotel had been turned into a "carouse palace" and the lift I landed in around 1:30 a.m. in the morning was plastered with vomit and full of drunk and vulgar youngsters.
Yesterday night, it took the room service nearly two hours to change a bottle of beer after a wrong brand delivery.
The outdated plumbery equipment and the stained carpets in the floors are details compared to the rest...
Good points to mention are their reception desk and concierge staff who do their best to cope with the circumstances and the breakfasts with good quality and fair prices.

At check in, as I was walking away, I realized I had not been given back my credit card, so had to return to the desk and ask for it. I was given it back without an apology.
Then, the first room I was given was still occupied - imagine how surprised the guest already there was when I opened the door.
I returned to the desk, was given another room - but no apology.
The ice machine was broken and was leaking water all over the floor - this was mentioned to a housekeeper and security guard in the hallway, but both just kept walking away.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Flytdeck Solid hotel in good location but is a bit tired
As a Holiday Inn property, this meets, but does not exceed, expectations. The rooms are large but very tired and are in real need of updating. Front desk service is good, other employees satisfactory. The coffee stop and gift shop will not charge purchases to the hotel room.
Cutting through the P2 garage and out the back door saves a fair bit of time when heading down to the main street.
Time to renovate!
Good pool and exercise area.
Bed covers need to be changed to duvets.

Not a great experience. Booked a smoking room and ended up on a dump floor. Stayed here a few times previously, on other floors, and nothing was the same. They had parites on our floor for 3 days straight. Called for service a few times and waited a minimum of 35 mins each time for simple requests.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay this time, The room was large bright clean and very comfy.
Our only area we were not impressed with was the free breakfast which we only received a stub for one (we were there two days) and the choice in the restaurant could be more in line with your competitors.
Overall the stay was excellent , my husband was some one reluctant to stay here again after our last visit, but this visit changed his mind.

When I was staying at the hotel, I booked Two room for 4 of us. I took a drive with my friend from toronto and was arrive at the hotel late and tired. I was hoping that I can have a good sleep. However, when I arrived, the front desk staff told me the computer system crashed and only able to check in manually. Then after a while, I was assigned 2 rooms at the 7th floor (and as a priority gold club number, no special greeting for this time, even not be mentioned at the front desk), when my friend and I was about to open the door of my room, there were people inside!!! All 4 of us feel extremely awkward. So we had to went back to the front desk again with our tired and angry mood, and they assigned the other two room at the same floor for us. The room's size was find, but the bathroom was not as clean as I though. Then we went out for dinner and went back, my friend figured out that his room's heater was broke! His room was extremely hot and then he had to went to the front desk again and changed room for the second time!!!!!!! Then I was going to charge my laptop and my cell phone, I found all the outlet or extend outlets under the table are not working, so I have to unplug the TV's and plug in my personal charger. The bed's cover sheet was full of static which made us very uncomfortable for staying. Over all, the experience was terrible!
