Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Goodsize bedroom and clean toilets Goodsize bedroom, clean toilets and reasonable breakfast spread. The bread could be better. I wanted to use the room refrigerator to store mymedicine but the front desk receptionist wanted a 5000 roubles cash deposit or to roll my credit card. When I gave them my credit card, the front desk said they would have to levy a service charge of US$1 to 2 even though I may not consume anything in the refrigerator as the charge is levied by the credit card company. I do not like being levied a charge for getting the key access to the refrigerator even for not consuming any item in the refrigerator. This is a ridiculous service fee which I have not come across in my entire travelling experience worldwide. Hence I did not put any cash deposit nor let them roll my credit card. June 5, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday inn as you expect The hotel is the upper end of the HI chain. Everything in the hotel was clean and sparkling, expect the room windows which looked as if they had not been washed for years, but I suspect that this was from spary from the elevated road infront of the windows a few floors down. Was lucky being a platinium member as I got an upgrade to a suite, so loads of room, really nice. Bed was comforatable and there was a large bathroom too. Hotel is not in town so a bit of a drag to get into the centre for sightseeing. However, you are only a few mins walk to nearest metro station and about 20 mins from Red Square the "heart of the city". It has another advantage being a bit out of town as the rate is a bit cheaper than closer in. So if you don't mind using the metro a very good choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful with direction requests etc. Breakfast in the Exec lounge was OK with hot and cold choice of food and drinks. Free drinks and snackes also in the lounge all day. The only problem was the "free" internet, it was not very stable and at times it was soo slow to be PAINFUL (down to less than 1 mbit/Sec!!!) The only comment that the front desk made when I checked out was it must have been everyone was using it. Well if its free they should ensure there is sufficient bandwidth to give an acceptable user speed! So I would go back if and when I am in town but you need to be game to use the Metro or you will be stuck here or have to pay for taxis etc to get around! May 3, 2014

I had a standard room, which I think was a large room - with both a king size bed, a sofa and a big desk with comfortable chair. Large bathroom with bathtub :D Great staff, nice and welcomly both the receptionist and the waitresses, being met with a beautiful smile and "Good morning" when you come to breakfast is very important for a good start of the day. No matter how busy it was in the diningroom the tables was always cleaned. Houskeeping staff did an excellent job and I looked forward to come back to my room in the evenings. The hotel also have great gym facilities. Short way to the Metro station where in less than 20 minutes you will be downtown. Unfortunately the food experience was not up to the standards of the rest. I had one stay in November and one in April and the breakfast have become better - yes. But I still miss fresh bred, all types of bred were dry and hard - all days - Tuesday - sunday. Both my stays I have been on conference an eaten lunch and dinner at the hotel. This needs both an update and to be changed between the meals. Only the hotmeals were different from one meal to the next. And also here - fresh bred please. Overall, I would reccomand this hotel for holiday visitors who mainly will eat outside the hotel. The conference area is also very nice, but choose lunch/dinners outside the hotel. Exept the food it is a very good hotel. April 30, 2014
