I'm not certain if the atmosphere was a pro or a con. I made the reservation for myself, but my husband decided to join me on this trip. I joked with the hotel staff that I found him in the parking lot, and I'm afraid they may have believed me. They gave me the room at the furthest end of the hotel with 'discreet' access to allow anonymous entry or exit into my room via a back door facing at a parking lot perfect for hiding a governor's motorcade. As a bonus, this parking area was sometimes blocked off by a few official looking orange pylons to discourage curious onlookers. The room was small and frayed at the edges, and the hotel itself screamed of 1980's motel modified into a more pseudo-respectable establishment with some discretion. We forgave the staff for the blood stain on the comforter since we left a bit of a mess ourselves on the first night. (There's something to be said about a romantic tryst in a love hotel...) On the positive side, the pool was lovely and had a life guard manning it all day.

I was personally unhappy with the way the problem was handled by management along with the condition in the shower.

My stay was excellent. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant
was very helpful and accommodating.
The restaurant was a real sup prize. One evening I ate my dinner which was very good. in talking to the waitress I informed her that I was taking out a client for dinner the next night and asked her for a suggestion. She ask me what I wanted to eat and I said Italian or Steak. She went and got me a restaurant listing and recommended a couple of restaurants. The cook overheard our conversation and he made me a small plate of steak over rice with his special sauce. It was fantastic. His name was DD. He was a good cook and the Holiday Inn should be proud to have a good guy and a good cook like him working for them.
I came back from a hard day of work and the I wanted a beer. The bar was not opened yet. the manager went back and served me in the lobby.
They are committed to take care of their customer. They all went out of the way to take care of my needs. This is an excellent place to stay.
When you travel as much as I do its nice to stay at a hotel that takes care of there customer.
The Manager has trained his help well and is committed to good customer service.
Satisfied Traveler .

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Apocalypse737 Clean room, noisy hallways and bad food
Nice first impression. The outside grounds and lobby were clean and safe. The check-in was easy and the staff friendly. The room was bigger than I expected, clean, and was well stocked with bathroom toiletries, extra pillows, etc. Dinner at Teddy's however, was very disappointing. I so very rarely treat myself, and thought it would be nice to have a filet minion, medium. There was only one other couple in the restaurant area, yet it took 40 minutes to get my order placed and the food to arrive, severely overcooked. That night in the room, every 15 minutes someone from a wedding going on at the same time was going up and down the halls, talking, whistling and singing as loud as they could and many times banging on the walls and doors. This lasted until maybe 3 am. I had breakfast in the morning at the restaurant, and the buffet was OK. The staff comped me for the bad dinner and at checkout refunded a portion of the reservation cost due to the noise. The staff went out of their way to try to make it right.

This was a superb, excellent hotel in every respect. In my opinion it was more like a Crowne Plaza property than a Holiday Inn property. I will definitely stay here again whenever I am in the White Plains/Westchester County Airport area on business.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ralph13 Comfortable and quiet
This isn't your honeymoon/romantic getaway type of property, but it's great for "need a comfortable place to stay while I'm in the area," which was our case. The staff we encountered were competent and friendly. It's a very quiet place; no outside noise at all. The room was a fairly standard issue hotel room--the usual furnishings, a small bathroom--but everything was clean and fresh and there was a fridge and microwave. Pool was nicer and larger than I expect of a hotel (nice pool deck furnishings, too). Coffee, flavored water available in the lobby. A number of dining options available in town.

Despite negative chatter, the decor was up to date and in excellent condition. The only quibble would be that the elevator had not opened.

As with most hotels, you go there to sleep. We didn't spend a big amount of time in the hotel, just to sleep after the wedding. The bed was comfortable and staff were pleasant.

Being near the Saw Mill River Parkway made this location very convenient for us. Very quiet and comfortable. Bathroom was a little cramped, but it was very clean. A/C worked well and was not too noisy. We would stay here again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by T_NYC Terrible noise problem
This hotel was average, however it seemed to completely ignore the fact that people like it quiet when they're trying to sleep. Until past midnight our walls were shaking from the music from a party going on in the hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jeh106 Good location, good service, good sleep
My wife and I (senior citizens) stayed here for 5 nights while visiting family and friends in metro New York City. We took the train (Metro North) into Manhattan (Grand Central Station) twice. The hotel offered free shuttle service to the Mount Kisco train station (5 minutes to the station, one hour train ride into New York City). Much cheaper than driving to and parking in New York City. Returning home we had to use a local taxi company recommended by the hotel ($5 plus tip).
The hotel restaurant had very good breakfast options (not free but reasonable and filling).. We had dinner there one evening and it was good not great. One night we had dinner at Eduardo's in Mount Kisco. Very good.
The hotels security was very good. All outside doors locked at 11 PM except for the main entranced. Parking was free. Front desk staff were very helpful in locating restaurants, shuttle service, etc.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Comfortable, great staff
The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was nice, very clean and the facilities were good. The restaurant has good food and the breakfast was nice, but expensive. My only real concern was the air-conditioner that was quite loud and went on every couple of minutes (despite being turned to high 70's).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jersey Diva Would definitely visit again.
When we have reason to be in the area again we will plan to stay here. With a stressful day of travel before and a big day ahead this was as oasis. Everything we needed was right there so we didn't have to get back in the car again! Everyone was pleasant helpful and professional. The air running during the night interrupted sleep some, but I don't know what can be done about that. Great find.

Fantastic desk service, immediately met with a friendly face. The room was incredibly comfortable and the AC was actually controllable. Only problem was a faulty shower head and lack of beverages in the lobby in the morning. Also parking was a hassle.
Hotel is long, not tall.

Have tour information available to New York City. We were trying to drive south toward the city and did not know about driving to train station, parking car and taking the train to city. It would have been helpful if the staff could have helped us with this. We did figure it out and the staff did give me the address of the train station but this was after talking to several guest at the wedding.

I can't recall the last time I received such accommodating service. All requests were promptly executed with a smile and a pleasant and willing personality. I don't remember the female staff's name, but I checked in on 5/16/14 at approximately 1 P M. I will definitely return because of the outstanding service. I thank Universal Seminars for the referral.

Upon checking in we went to our room after driving 4 hours to find urine and hair on the toilet. The girl at the desk was helpful and switched our room immediately, she then called the manager and called me right back.
The club there is busy and we were on the first floor and heard people in and out of cars slamming doors all night. Only then to be woken by a barking dog scratching at a door.
Was it restful???? No.
