Great hotel for Priority Club members. Room was upgraded and there were other very much appreciated perks for members. Nice sauna on the lower level. The route is about six stops on the U-Bahn and one change to get to the main train station. Probably worth the effort, just be aware that it is not close to tourist attractions. From the subway station, the hotel is a 4 minute walk into a pleasant residential area. The other Holiday Inn in Munich is also a few subway stops to the main train station, but all indoor with a shopping mall connecting the hotel's lobby.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mirek Fine for overnight stay, nothing more
The hotel is good for overnight stay. The rooms are basic and bit outdated. Bathroom stuff also basic, usually with some small defect.
I stay in the hotel regularly during business trips because of suitable location.
I really can't understand why this hotel keep charging high fee for using wireless Internet. I'm often staying in other hotels in different countries and most of them already offer complementary Internet, however in Holiday Inn Munich it's still not the case. For Gold members of their club, they offer 1 hour !!! Of free Internet - really hard to believe they perceive this as relevant benefit...
To balance, all staff is supportive and people in a bar very friendly.
All in all, I would expect more for the value and bit more benefits for frequent visitors...

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by cencoic Room and cleaning staff problem
The room had electric issues. The switch near the door apparently is a master switch to the electric power for the lights, refrigerator and television. The first problem I had was the hotel staff at the reception desk never informed me about the switch and it's functions. The problem occured when my mother got up and turned on the light one morning and it ended up waking up my wife and I as result of the electric switch. Secondly I informed the clean staff that I didn't want any cleaning service. After a day of visting the Octoberfest I discovered that they the cleaning staff emptied my trash can. The strange thing was they didn't do anything else. The purpose of not having cleaning staff was the fact I had two cats in the room. I didn't want anyone in the room for fear of one of my cats getting out. I would appreciate if either the management of the Hotel or someone from IHG get in contact with me as soon as possible.
