As someone who is not quick to complain, I was shocked at the low level of service and hospitality at a company in the hospitality industry! The first night we arrived there was hair in the tub (leftover from the previous guest). Our hotel NEVER in the 4 nights we stayed there got housekeeping despite being asked several times. Eventually my coworker had to stand at the counter and wait until someone would bring her clean towels.
At breakfast one morning our server told us she would bring coffee, water and juice (what we asked for). After asking again 3 additional times we NEVER got it.
We stayed on the 3rd floor and our room faced the atrium. We were able to clearly hear the wait staff setting up for breakfast everyday at 5am - including their conversations.
We also were the last room in our hallway that was rented out - the rest of the hall was under construction. That is understandable (I was even willing to be patient with the noise during the day!). What was not acceptable was that as a 16-weeks pregnant woman who was feeling sick from the epoxy smell of the tiling they were doing, and when we asked to move rooms, they told us there was a waiting list to move and that they would let us know - we never heard back...
I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and would never recommend it to anyone. I have stayed at hostels in Europe and hotels in Asia with significantly better service and more hospitable staff. This hotel needs some MAJOR room and staff updates - and should close until they are able to offer that. Otherwise they will continue to tarnish their reputation along with the Holiday Inn brand.

My stay was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I was disappointed to find out that they have discontinued their free breakfast at this location. It was one of the most important factors for staying at this location. I may in the future pick another property such as a Holiday Inn Express when in the area because of the benefit change at this location.

It was a dark and stormy night...Booked on line and our room was waiting for us when we pulled in within the hour. Comfy bed. Wonderful that the hotel had a bar and a restaurant. Too tired to use the pool, but did take a walk over to see it - looked very inviting.

Unlike most of the Holiday Inns I've stayed at, this one was pretty substandard. Room did not include a fridge or microwave. Plumbing problems prevailed all weekend - sink/tub drainage. Food/drink prices were high. I was told I got an "upgrade" for being patient about waiting until 4:30 pm to get a room - upgrade turned out to be two bottled waters and 2 Goo Goo candies.
The most disturbing discovery, on my last day of stay, was the fact that my door unlocked on its own. My room was never "secure." Anyone could have gotten in without a key card.
Just because the Inn is located in a major music city - doesn't mean it's worth it.

It was unbelievable how strongly the smoke smell was strong when we got off the elevator. Then when we opened the door to our room, it was as if someone was smoking in the room. We were there for three days and the smell never got better or less annoying. The pillows, sheets, curtains, etc. If they hired a company to clean after the hotel went non-smoking, they need to fire that company and try again!
Checking in was not that great either. There was one clerk working and five of us waiting. Two guys kept coming out from a room behind the front desk, but never asked if they could help. I could not figure out why they did not check in some of us. I thought it might have been they were not trained on front desk, but that was not the case. Both of them were working the front desk at various times during our stay, so that eliminated any excuse for their not helping. We never ate there, so I do not know about the restaurant. Breakfast is NOT included and the buffet was $10 per person. Too costly for us! It should have been included since the room rate was so high!

Staff are very helpful and friendly!! The property is a bit tired. However, I have to expect the current ongoing renovations (October 2014) will change this.
