Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cant get the points from the Hotel promotion I used to stay here more often, but when you check in you get to pick a perk. I pick the 500 points per night and most times i dont get the points credited. I have called and complained and mention it when i check in but i dont get them I am still owed about 1000 points from the past, now when i have to stay there i just take the free Appy instead. The hotel was great, we were able to check in a little early with no extra charge. The staff was great, the restaurant was excellent and the price was right. I would recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again. November 8, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old Hotel - Nice Restaurant This is an older hotel - BEWARE. I am a non-smoker, but awoke to smelling cigarette smoke in bedroom. It was coming from the vent in the bathroom, for which there was no fan to turn on to reverse the flow. Yikes. Restaurant was an excellent experience. October 24, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Holiday Inn in the United States In the past year, I have stayed over 75 nights at Holiday Inns in the United States and Canada. This Holiday Inn was the worst property I have ever stayed at and probably will never stay here again. First, I booked my reservation a year before my stay for a room with two beds. When I checked in, they were putting me in a room with one-king bed. This is not what I booked. They told me that they were sold out and this was the only room type they had. I said that I made my reservation a year before, could show them the original room booking, and that they needed to fix the situation. The front desk person continued to raise her voice to me and finally found me a room with two beds. Although I was in a non-smoking room, the hallway and room smelled heavily of cigarettes and smoke. Also, I do not think the cleaning staff does a good job as there was mold growing in the top of the shower. I'm attaching pictures that I took of the mold spots with my cell phone. I would have complained about the mold, but I did not notice it until the day we were checking out. This really grossed me out. I'm not sure how this property continues to be able to carrie the Holiday Inn name. I normally stay in Holiday Inns because they are normally very clean. I was very disappointed. October 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel First of all, I'd like to thank the Holiday Inn for offering the Gov't rate. This was the only above average hotel that I could find available in the Utica/New Hartford/Rome area that was not considered sub par with the rest of the hotels. The food at the Moose River Lounge was great and the prices were acceptable, given the Gov't Per Diem I had to work with. The room ws comfy and bathroom was fairly big, tho I did have an "Accessable" room. Over all a big A+ for quietness, value, and service!!! PS ... the gym is well above average. Cardio equipment, a nice cable machine, and free weights. October 15, 2012
