Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room, food service needs improvement. Arrived later than originally planned (about 9:15) but the front desk clerk was friendly and efficient so in no time I was in my room. I asked when the dining room closed and was told 10 so I went up to my room, checked out the room service menu and placed my order around 9:30 I was told it would be half an hour for delivery and it was, I had ordered calimarri and it was overcooked, tasteless and rubbery, the greens that it sat on on the plate looked as though they'd seen better days. Not a good start. The following morning I went down for breakfast and found a number of dirty tables and no hostess. As it turns out there was one waitress who was stellar in being attentive to her customers but with the number of people there didn't have the time to bus tables, act as hostess and also wait on folks. She did what she could and did it well. The food service was quick, it was hot and properly cooked. A man in a suit (manager?) finally came out and started bussing tables. He needs to learn how to stack a dish trolly efficiently. A second person in the dining room is definitely needed. I would stay there again but probably would find someplace else for dinner. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The food was terrible along with the service We were amazed when we went to eat at the restaurant for dinner. We should have taken a cue from no one was eating there and there was no restaurant workers to be seen. We stood waiting and waiting. Well we were in for a surprise when finally we were seated and then a disappearance act began again after serving us water. We both ordered an appetizer and I waited and waited for mine and when a waitress finally walk by I asked, "Are you going to serve me my salad?" Both of our entrees were nothing to write home about. The cod was dry and the tuna fish was disgusting. No wonder no one was in there even though there were cars in the lot. Our suite was very clean. In fact we gave the housekeeper 2 checks on the form we filled out. She also went and got us extra hangers and soaps. We did notice because we were woken up a few times an extremely loud rattling coming from the AC unit. The bath tub drain was very slow causing us to stand in water up to our ankles. Lamps needed near bedroom chair, chair in living room needed. But over all our stay was nice and we went out to eat a lot. The hotel is very convenient to the train station and downtown so we will stay there again when we come back to New London. June 21, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Differences I also recently stayed at a Holiday Inn in Biddeford ME. In the morning there was coffee, eggs, sausages, bacon etc. All of which was included. In New London it was $12 a head for basically scrambled eggs and bacon. I assumed all Holiday Inns would be on par with each other I guess they are not. I don't mind paying $12 for breakfast but there was not much bang for the buck there. June 11, 2014

We have met a few times with college parents to go to Hannifin's a few blocks away. What a nice hotel and walking distance to Hannifins. April 25, 2014

Had an attached restaurant but didn't use it (Over priced#. The hotel was very clean as were the rooms. Nice pool area #could have used a hot tub). Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Need better internet I stayed here for work and if based on experience in around the location its good. The overall quality of the stay was average. The wireless internet was decent but at peak times when all the guests are back it get bogged down. If there was wired internet connections in the room would be a good option. When the wireless was slow, I used my phone as a hotspot and had better speed than the hotel wireless. Cleanliness was good, housekeeping was generally up to par with standards. I didn't have a "Do Not Disturb" sign for my door, not sure if it was just missing but it was never replaced for the 2 week I was there. Food in the hotel restaurant was good as far as hotel food goes, but for work I couldn't claim the expenses because it does not provide itemized receipts. Only a vague receipt on the hotel receipt that says restaurant charge. Free parking is a plus but almost didn't have parking for one night when the hotel was hosting some kind of event and almost all parking spaces were full. Not sure what the hotel policy was in regards to parking but I doubt if all the people at the event were staying guests at the hotel. April 7, 2014

Had the breakfast buffett witch was good but they lack table service.My room was very comfortable. i would recomend this as a good place to stay for business travelers. April 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Pool comfy beds I was here for my Nieces Bday. The kids had a great time in the pool!! Overall the experience was really nice. When I checked in I gave an AMEX card for a $50 deposit for the two rooms I booked, somehow a $140 charge was booked on the debit card I used to prepay for my rooms a week earlier. This was odd because I never gave the receptionist my debit card. The money was held for three days thank goodness I didn't overdraw my account! The food was just ok but the bartender was super nice!!! April 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great location We stayed here twice in March. This hotel was neat and clean. The staff were exceptional. Check in/out was smooth. We were given vouchers for the kids to eat free breakfast. One of the days there was a breakfast buffett that was great. The hotel was very central to downtown and various eating establishments. Very easy to find, easily accessible and great onsite parking. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again should I be in the area. April 3, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good but I will say that the room was very good large and comfortable and the location was great since I was getting the ferry. 1. breakfast was not good, food was cold and and wait staff was not attentive at all. The cost was high for the product (should be included like Holiday inn express in fact all of the Holidy Inn expresses I have stayed in were much better and there was plenty of variety with the food 2. the room was comfortable and large since it was a suite however the room decour was bland and it seemed like there were things missing, nothing on the walls and large empty spaces in the room 3. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Helpful staff, nice room We were originally given a room that was not made up, but this was immediately fixed amid many apologies. This was not a problem. We were given a suite instead. Very nice. But the pillows were a problem for us. This is the reason for the comfort ratings above. All four were much too plump for our sleeping comfort. Usually we find at least two very soft, not so plump pillows. One of us up used an inflatable travel pillow and the other a clean towel stuffed in a pillow case. In most hotels we find at least two pillows to our liking and this time it was to late at night to ask for different pillows. March 15, 2014

Location was convenient though and the staff was pleasant. The restaurant staff was slow and less than interested in getting things right. Pool was very nice. February 24, 2014

They loved the large swimming pool the best. The food in the restaurant was average. The hotel was extremely clean and very comfortable.I would deffinitely stay there again. February 12, 2014

Too bad the breakfast doesn't start earlier. I had a 7am ferry to catch and needed to leave the Hotel before the breakfast lounge opened. They did have fresh coffee in the lobby though. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I had no issues what so ever with the Internet when I used it. I liked the on site restaurant and bar as it was very cold when I stayed there. Yet the parking was very EZ and free. There was an onsite restaurant but we chose to go to Bank Street which had many places to eat. The rate here was much cheaper than the HI near the Mohegan Sun casino. January 10, 2014
