Friendly staff trying to rise above management.
Vertical hotel with 4 elevators, 10% of the time we were there 3 were up, 90% only 2.
Restaurant totally unprepared for a full hotel (we were there during the Women's Final Four): called for room service at 0930 and told the wait would be 1.5 hours. The next day went down about the same time and told the same thing.

At the time of check-in my first impression was pleasing, the front desk clerk, was very professional and informative, went beyond the call of duty to explain the city being I am not from there, so THANK YOU!!!!
BUT ! after a long day on the town and basketball game MIAMI vs N.O.
I CAME BACK TO MY ROOM SHOWERED AND GOT READY FOR BED... TURNED MY SHEETS BACK ONLY TO FIND BLOOD ALL OVER MY SHEETS AND MAKE-UP !!!!!! (YUCK) TO SAY THE LEAST !!!! i WAS MORTIFIED !!!!! a $200.00 blood soaked bed and it took 30 to 45 min for the mgr and or housekeeping to get to my room !
Never will i stay there again

My husband and I recently stayed at the New Orleans Holiday Inn Downtown Superdome. Although, I normally stay at a different hotel, this hotel was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious, and the service was outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Keurig coffee maker in the room. If you are planning on a visit to the Big Easy, you won't be disappointed with your stay.

Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast buffet was average or below, happy hour was a good value. We thought the room was a little overpriced, but it was a high-demand weekend. Was disappointed to have to pay $24 per day to leave my car in the parking garage.

I have stayed here twice. Rooms are great, location is great. However, checking in is hectic to say the least. Long lines, but no where to line up except the lobby. The last time the A/C was not working properly so it was hot AND crowded. The hotel did not have my priority key package ready, and asked me to come back later to pick up free drink coupon that she hadn't had time to prepare or could not locate the cards (She was unclear). Anyway, I wasn't going to stand in line like that again. Room and view were great, but we were awoke very early by a 10K race microphone bellowing from below. So much for sleeping late on a day off!!! Food was very nicelly prepared and room service prompt and polite. I don't think I will stay a third time. Too crowded in the lobby area due to folks waiting for their tour buses to pick them up or dropping them off. This is not my idea of relaxation! But the hotel it's self is very nice and clean, just too crowded for my taste.

We've stayed at the Holiday Inn-Downtown Superdome four times in the past three years. Patrice at the front desk has become a familiar face, as has Mr. Roosevelt, the bellman. They greet me by name and are more than cordial. The staff handles the stress of rapid turnover on sailing days with aplomb, remaining courteous and professional while hundreds of excited people revolve through the lobby each day. The restaurant has improved considerably; the breakfast buffet is always fresh and easily accessable, and with kids eating free from the menu at all meals, the savings are real, too. The location is close to several points of interest, easily within walking distance to many of them. The secure parking facility attached to the hotel is quite a security feature for cruisers who are away for a week. We have enjoyed our stays there and will continue to utilize their services in the future.

My wife and I stayed at the Superdome location downtown New Orleans and everything was excellent. Additionally, he staff was always so helpful and cheerful in their duties. We both were so relieved as we were in New Orleans for a medical appointment and tests. One thing less to worry about. We do hope and pray that we'll be able to stay again under less stressful circumstances.
To all of you at the Holiday Inn Superdome, a heart felt thank you.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by PMAC82 Just OK - DON'T UPGRADE TO EXECUTIVE ROOM
After checking in, I was given 4 room keys for me and my guests. We go to the hotel room and none of them work. It takes the hotel 4 TIMES and about 30 minutes to get our room keys to work. Very inconvenient.
Paid $15.00 extra for an executive floor room which included access to the Club Lounge. I was told over the phone prior to my booking that the Club Lounge offered free appetizers and soft drinks between 5-8pm and free breakfast between 6-9am. After I check-in, I go up to the Club Lounge around 5:30pm and it's not even open. I was told that the service had been discontinued. I paid an extra $15.00 to essentially be on an upper floor.
The shower head was awful.
The beds were comfortable.
The elevators are terrible in this hotel. One of them shakes like you would not believe.
The business center was nice.
Cheap parking compared to other hotels.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AnneC4234 Terrific stay!
This hotel has the best beds in the world! It also has a marvelous lobby and lovely premises. The only drawback is the breakfast buffet, which should be offered to all priority club stays. Instead, with a party of three (my husband and daughter), I was given one coupon and they had to pay. Not a good deal.

My understanding at purchase was that I would be transported to and from the cruise., It does not make since that the shuttle would not transfer it's customers back from the cruise. we were told by two security that your hotel shuttled every 30 minutes but the hotel personal said that they did take people back to the hotel You would think as much as we paid the shuttle would be available to return us to our cars. We had to pay and extra $21.00
I will not recommend your hotel to my associates.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Candywb Exactly what we needed
We stayed here the night before and the night after our cruise. Every staff member we encountered, from the desk clerk to the manager in the elevator to the concierge to the restaurant staff (who really worked their tails off), was absolutely pleasant, if not downright friendly.
And the early (11am) check-in the day after we came back was a delightful (and convenient) surprise.
Also, for movie buffs, the HI has first run movies available for purchase! The new James Bond movie was a big family hit.
I recommend having the concierge call the cab company for you, as the cab fares are more published. And I would love to see the hotel implement a train and cruise terminal shuttle service.
Thank you Holiday Inn!

My wife and I spent four days in New Orleans for New Years Eve 2013. This was our second New Years visit to New Orleans at this hotel.
We both think this Hotel offers a very pleasing atmosphere with a staff that was very professional. They were full because of The Saints vs Panthers game and the Sugar Bowl during the same time we were there and every thing with the hotel worked without any problems.
I will say the wait for an elevator can get a little long when the hotel is full, but it wasn't a big deal.

I have stayed here about 4-5 times this fall. I was pleasantly surprised at finding this gem of a hotel so close to where I needed to go in New Orleans. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. I must mention Roosevelt, oswald, Gloria and Juanita for outstanding work. They were most helpful and kind. My hat off to them for jobs well done. Thank you. I am looking forward to staying there again.

We have been staying at Holiday Inn's all across the country. There seems to be a theme and today I'm speaking out. They all seem to be, for lack of a better phrase, "run down".
We stayed in New Orleans 5 nights. The first night, there was no hot water, eventually NO water for hours and the elevators weren't working #we were on the 11th floor#. The second night, no hot water, our room had not been cleaned #we left at 11:00 a.m. and returned at 5:30 p.m.#. The third night there was a clean room but no towels. I called for towels and an hour later my husband called back for towels.
The shower barely worked and I was lucky if there was EVER hot water. #Except for 5:00 a.m. - there was plenty#.
I do not recommend this hotel unless they step up their game. Roosevelt, however, is a JEWEL. The only good thing about the whole place.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by VeryDisappointed2 Rennovations not mentioned
Rooms were great price, up-to-date, and clean. No running water upon arrival followed by a "gray smoke" in the water later at night was very inconvenient.
Hotel elevators were being rennovated but website made no mention of that. Only having 1 (sometimes 2) working elevator made for 30+ minute waits just to get down to the lobby.
Even though it was nicely priced and close to the Superdome, I will likely never stay here again. Nor would I recommend it to anyone I know.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MMPLafLA New Orleans Bowl 2012
Room was clean as was bathroom. Staff was courteous and helpful. Restaurant food was good. Restaurant service could have been better had additional staff been scheduled due to the number of persons staying during the New Orleans Bowl 2012. The line waiting for a table at dinner on the Friday night before and breakfast the morning of (12/22) and on Sunday 12/23 was long. However, I now realize that there are many weekends having events at the near by Mercedes Benz Superdome.
Location for the dome was nice, but slightly far to walk to French Qtr., with the crime in N. O. Take a cab, the $8 fare is so worth it.

The location is excellent in reference to the Superdome and the Arena. Great parking, very good staff, convenient, streetcars at front door of hotel. Our room was very nice and updated. Being so close to the Superdome is a HUGE advantage. This is and remains one of my favorite hotels in New Orleans. Again, the staff was VERY courteous, helpful, and friendly.
