Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location and potential, but... This could be a great property, however there was a very annoying sewer smell in the area of the motel with all the rooms. The smell was really bad in the hallway and sometimes in the room. I stayed five nights and was glad to leave. I will stay again only if the smell problem gets figured out. I'll ask the motel if the problem is cleared up before I make my next reservation. If not, I'll stay in Mankato and make the drive into New Ulm. October 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff The room are what you would expect. The bathrooms are a little small. The check in staff were superior. They even called to find out if there was anything we needed. Internet worked great - no problems connecting. The restaurant/bar stayed open until after 11:00 pm and that was great for visiting with family. Morning breakfast was a little chaotic. I realize there were alot of people staying over on a Friday night but service was slow. When our order was not right, the server took the food back and got another plate immediately - no questions asked. October 1, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The b eds and pillows were awesome. We enjoyed the hotel. Great place to host a reunion. Lots of places to gather and not bother anyone. Pool and hot tub were great. Staff were more than helpful at check in, as we had a bit of a problem with our reservation, which I had made on the 1-877 number. Liz , we appreciate the gift certificate you gave us for breakfast on the Sunday. You did not need to do that as the manager and Carla ( I believe) had been very helpful at checkin. Thanks for everything. Our stay was awesome in New Ulm, MN. September 13, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Interesting Stay The Fire Alarm started going off at 6am and continued off and on for 1 1/2 hours. So by 7:30am we were wide awake! We paid alot to not sleep!!!! Went to the restaurant for breakfast. The food was good but the staff was overwhelmed with customers so service was extremely slow. It made for a stressful meal. We will go to the restaurant across the street for breakfast the next time we stay there. This was the 2nd time this has happened. August 28, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Where did the German Food go? The atmosphere of the hotel is German, consistent with the town. Prior to staying at the hotel, I was told that the restaurant in the hotel was the best place for German food in town. Having visited Germany, I was looking forward to having a good German meal. The evening I arrived, the restaurant had changed from being German to American! I asked if they had retained at least the most popular dishes of the German food, but was told "no". I left, went into town and found a German restaurant, but found it very good. Why did the best German restaurant in town change? The pool area was very nice. The rooms were a little tired, needing updating. August 21, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rooms I stayed here for two weeks and I'm not one to usually complain. Torges had AMAZING food and service! Very respectful and kind. The hotel on the other hand... my first room was good but they had my reservations messed up in the beggining and refused to fix it until the manager was spoken too. I left Friday and came back Tuesday to find out I was givin a smaller room which is fine... except the room stunk! Like must my a\c thing wasn't working right either. The guy who works overnights was more then willing to fix the couple issues I had. But the ladies that worked during the day just seemed annoyed and unwilling to help. August 7, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Pool Area for Kids Expensive for a hotel. Beds were comfortable. Do not unload your belongings on a cart prior to checking in. They don't have an elevator and we had to carry all our items up a flight of stairs including our heavy cooler. Had we known this, we would not have unloaded everything and would have parked near the closest door to our room. June 28, 2013

Eliminated the sit down restaurant (if you want to eat, you must sit in the bar which is very loud at night0 3. Changed the "German" menu which was the theme of the hotel Disappointing visit. I have been required to stay in New Ulm a number of days for work over the past weeks. My stays at the New Ulm Holiday have been very good and restful after very long days. The staff has been very helpful and friendly from check-in desk managers to restaurant staff in the evening to the morning restaurant and hotel staff. May 27, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average This hotel is adequate. The rooms are small. I have stayed here several times and the hot tub has not been working any of those times. The wireless internet does not work well from every room. I had to change rooms this last time. The front desk personnel has always been friendly. I wish they would teach, the one, who has worked with me on numerous occasions; how to iron a shirt. It is so unprofessional looking. I think they are overpriced for the facility. I do like that they provide a USA Today I am a business traveler and stay in lots of hotels. May 12, 2013

The front desk personnel accommodate my special requests and always with a smile. Rooms are always clean. Food and drink at the bar are great if you like German, good if you want standard fare. Service in the bar has been great to okay. When it has been okay, I've never seen the 'okay' server there on two consecutive visits. March 15, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not the hotel for me I stayed at this hotel about 4.5 years ago. It needed updating then and it needs updating now. I had to wait for someone to check me in, no one was at the front desk upon arrival. I requested an upstairs outside room because I did not want to face the pool and the smell. Although the staff person was kind enough to upgrade the room, it was inside, no outside windows and had a sliding door to an open area. As a single woman traveling alone, I did not consider this safe and without an outside window, it was difficult to know how the weather was so I could dress appropriately for the day. The wall hanging in my room was visibly dusty and the lighting poor. It is probably a very family friendly hotel; but for my business travel it was just OK, March 4, 2013
