I stayed there on August 2013. The hotel is new and exactly like the photos. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean, the internet and tv worked very well.

This is honestly the best Holiday Inn in New York City. I have stayed at several HI properties in Manhattan, and this one is the cleanest, most spacious, and friendliest.
From arriving, the staff greeted me and made sure all my needs were met. I was expecting a tiny hotel room, being this is NYC. The room I got, however, was much larger than my expectations.
The hotel is about one block from the Subway, so getting around the City is very easy.
I will definitely stay here again next time my work brings me to NYC.

Brand new hotel, very clean and comfortable rooms. Free wi fi and kind staff. Cons: no breakfast and not a fancy location, although it was a good experience in the end. Will surely recommend it for family and friends.

Generally speaking, it was a good stay. Everything is expensive in NYC, so the price is acceptable.
Easy access to subway, convenient to everything, restaurants, grocery stores, bars, banks, laundry stores. There is a safe box in the closet.
There is no refrigerator in the room. And the window style air conditioner (compressor) makes a big sound when it starts running. That noise waked me up several times per night.

The staff kept our bags before checkin so that we could tour NYC and they let use leave our bags there for we could continue our touring the next day. Thank you for this service.

I've been to NY many times for my son lives there, on the lower east side.I could not stay with him this time so I was a little nervous about getting a room. it is so hard to tell on websites what the place is truly going to be like.I was thoroughly impressed with the staff. They were polite, cheerful and very helpful. The rooms were maybe a little small but this is NY. They were clean, bright and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

The only thing I found lacking were some HC accessibility issues. The roll-in shower is adequate except that the drain can't keep up with the shower head. B/c of a previous review I was aware and controlled it. You can easily have a soggy bedroom if not careful. The bed is comfortable but very high for someone with handicapped issues.
The other shortcoming is that the parking lot is across Delancey Street. If you are by yourself prepare for a block of rolling your bag(s) before playing Frogger with a suitcase in tow. If valet parking was provided it would have been a non-issue.
The friendliness of the Staff, particularly the front desk, made up for the HC shortcomings.
Enjoy your stay as this hotel overall is an asset to visitors to NYC!

Very clean and modern hotel in a great location. Next to subway station - direct trains to JFK, easy access to the rest of Manhattan. Loved the neighbourhood, great for restaurants and bars. Stayed for 7 nights. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed four nights at the hotel, the staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were clean and had all the necessary facilities including free wifi and built in usb charger - a must for our teenagers! The location was perfect for exploring the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn due to my daughter's wedding. The staff made us feel very comfortable for our 5 day stay. The evening of my daugher's wedding, they decorated the bed with rose pedals, champaign, roses and candy. What a nice gesture. I would definitely stay at this Holiday Inn again on my next visit.

We recently travelled to NYC with our two teenaged kids and stayed at the Holiday Inn, Lower East Side. We were looking for a lower cost hotel so we can afford to travel more often and found this hotel to be a great value. The room was clean and spacious enough and any traffic noise was drowned out from our A/C. The hotel is a 10 min walk or less to SOHO and Little Italy and it's in an up and coming area (read: still a little rough but okay). The staff on the front desk helped us with all of our tourist questions and sold us Gray Line tour vouchers for the hop on/off tours, the night tour and the water tour. We all enjoyed the night tour (in the rain!) and the boat tour (perfect break on a hot day) but didn't end up using the hop on/off tour. We ended up walking or using taxis/subway to get to where we wanted, when we wanted. Highlights of the trip were: shopping in SOHO, breakfast at Serafina's in Time Square (best fresh squeezed oj ever), breakfast at Balthazar's in SOHO (great food & atmosphere), my daughter telling me how much she loved seeing Wicked, my city-adverse son telling me how much he liked Times Square, and seeing the Statue of Liberty by boat.

Great location near subway stops, interesting neighborhood. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, especially when I encountered airline difficulties and needed to adjust my reservation. The free internet workstations in the lobby were a nice amenity. All this at a cost significantly lower than any other similar hotel in this area.

After spending one night on an air mattress at my son's new apartment, i needed to find somewhere to stay that was comfortable. This H.I. was around the corner from his apartment, and i am very pleased that i found it. Room was beautiful and i wanted to take the bathroom home with me, very impressed. Comfortable bed and a great view of the new freedom tower. The front desk staff was very helpful too! Most definately would recommend this hotel!!

This is a lovely new hotel on the Lower East Side. Great downtown location. Clean, spacious, and comfortable. The handicapped shower was perfect for my mobility needs, however the floor flooded too easily after every shower, every day. It was as though the bathroom became a pond. I was able to get around safely, but someone with more severe mobility issues might not be safe in a bathroom that floods so easily. Overall great experience.

I have booked this stay the last minute at a very late hour of the evening. By the time I arrived at the property, it was about midnight. I was pleasantly greeted by Sheila @ Front Desk with a smile and addressing me by "Mr. ...". That particularly struck my attention.
Sheila was able to quickly perform the check-in process being on the computer and describing services available - PLUS, striking a conversation with me on topics of New York City and travel tidbits. This is what I call 'multi-tasking'!
When I returned to the Front Desk a bit later to request for a later check-out time. Instead of saying 'yes or no', she skillfully upsold me on joining the customer loyalty program by not only giving me the check-out time till 2:00PM, but also encouraged future bookings with the same hotel group. This is what I call 'effective sales' that leads to continued business.
The property was very new and clean. The location might not be smack in the middle of midtown, but the subway is right around the corner with all the usual quick service restaurants to coffee cafes to convenient store.

Very over priced for the location. If you want to see more of Manhattan stay closer to time square. The restaurant had poor service and very over priced. For just two pancakes, $10.00. Limited menu selections. They should offer complimentary breakfast for the room price and location. Most other holiday inn expresses do offer complimentary breakfast. Rooms are not very sound proof. Lots of noise in halls and on street. Since NY never sleeps......your sleep gets constantly interrupted by the noise.

I recently stayed here while visiting family and taking in the sights of NY. Hotel is within easy walk of Chinatown, Little Italy, Seaport and World Trade Center Memorial. Lobby and rooms were very clean and modern. The staff was excellent very friendly and helpful. A very good value for the money.

Thanks to everyone at the Holiday inn-(lower east side location).
I was in NYC for the Paul McCartney concert and had to find a reasonably priced and clean hotel and this was the perfect place. Close to the subway station...it was only a two minute walk (if that) to the station...easily accessible to all parts of Manhatten...a perfect location...VERY friendly and helpful staff, Uber clean..only 3 months old, and rooms were well equipped with all the amenities and free wifi. Also, a complimentary business center, if you did not have a laptop! From check in to check out, I was completely wowed and amazed! They also have a Priority Club membership, which is free and allows for conveniences such as late check out, etc. Thank you everyone, for making my stay in NYC that much more comfortable

We booked two rooms one for four nights and one for three nights to attend the 2013 NYU's commencement ceremony that occurred on May 21 for college and on 22 for univeristy. We were pleasantly surpised by the neatness of the hotel located in the lower east end. The staff had been courteous throughout our stays, but failed miserably on accomplishing the asked task. The task was a simple request to find information whether a taxi could be arranged from the hotel to the Yankee statium on the day of ceremony. We waited in the lobby for a good thirty minutes while the staff seemingly was eargerly searching on a computer. After he took care of a couple of new check-ins, I went and found out he had done nothing to our request. I ended up arranging my own transportation for the event
The housing keeping eagerly took our tips for the room, but failed to replenish coffee bags and soap bars, and did not remove the used bag from the coffee maker.

The hotel was new and clean. The location is near to subway stop and the parking lot was secure, 24/7. Hotel staff were pleasant and very helpful. only strange thing was that the cleaning staff did not vacuum the room rug or sweep the bathroom floor any of the three nights we stayed.

The hotel is not in a noisy area and it is very close to the subway.
