The rooms were a little small & had little space for 4 suitcases. Both times we stayed there were only 3 towels when the bookings were for 4.However, the rooms were nicely appointed , the beds comfy & the bathrooms nice, although a soap holder may have been good as the modern basins had none. The view of the ESB from the 14th and later 17th floor was excellent. The rooftop bar was cool & we ate pizza we had delivered & saw fireworks on July 4 up there. The 2nd time the disposable glasses weren't replaced each day which was annoying. The fridges were noisy in both rooms. The luggage storage organisation isn't the best. Having checked out we returned to collect our luggage which took 20 minutes. It didn't help that the receptionists ignored us while they cleaned the desk , then our bags were in the basement & took 2 trips to get. Then no one helped us out or offered to call a cab. One staff member stood outside and played with his pocket, completely oblivious to us trying to hail a cab which took 10 mins. Therefore, our trip to the airport was made more stressful as we lost 30 mins at the hotel.
However, overall the hotel was nice and the location was great, we would stay there again.

This hotel is very well located, next to the most important attractions in Manhattan. Rooms are small but confortable and clean, great shower! very good value for money. Staff professional and friendly.
The restaurant service has to be improved. First day we have been seated 50 minutes to be served, even if we were the only guests. Food not so good. Pizza included in the package horrible! We spent only 2 vouchers instead of 8 paied!

Excellent location in Mid-town. Room was recently upgraded and very quiet. Front desk was very helpful. Best wifi connection and speed for Holiday Inn's in Manhattan.

We got to the hotel at 1:00 pm so ok my room is not ready and we check are bags. i asked what time to come back to get are room . Was told to come back at 3:00pm. Came back at 4:00pm and are room was still not ready. After a half hour we got the room. Asked the front desk about a taxi to go to the Blue Man Group in . Was told they have a car service and it would cost $5.00. Came down at 6:00m asked about the car and was told they could not find one and just go out and flag down a yellow taxi. As for the room it was tight . But the bathroom was the worst. It looked great. But no where to put anything down on the sink and one small rack in the shower that just held the soap .

I have been at this place several times already. I really the rooms bed and service. Sometimes rate are higher than expected but it's really a good place. Staff is always kind and open to listen. Pizza package is a good deal. Breakfast is not bad either and even if not free is fair enough for price value.

In a nutshell, a really great hotel. Location is great since you can walk to a subway station, restaurants, pharmacy, and stores. Comfortable beds, great staff to answer all your questions, and rooms are updated. One of the nicest Holiday inn that I stayed in and I do stay in a lot of Holiday Inn express in a year. I would certainly this hotel and take into consideration to rebook this hotel in our (my wife and I) next getaway (from our kids) to NYC.

We woke up to a very hot room in the morning because the air conditioner didn't work.
Also, the water pressure was very bad.
For a $200+ room, this is unacceptable.

This room was too small, and it was not possible to change to 2 twin-bed room from 1 double bed room. Near the hotel was under construction, so it made me feel creepy. :(

I have to admit I was surprised. I called to see if I could locate my shaving kit that I had left behind during a recent business trip. The surprise came from the fact that they knew exactly where it was.
However, the SHOCK came in how well they treated me and with a sense of urgency to have my personal items sent to me via FedEx - especially since I had left some prescription meds behind.
Ms. Roxie - the executive housekeeper - deserves kudos. She not only helped me, she did so with professionalism, caring and pride in her work. It's refreshing to see that level of work commitment in a lagging economy where good customer service is so important yet, so often lacking or non-existent.
Thank you for being engaged and caring about your work. There are many executives who could learn something from Roxie.

Our overall stay was "fair". The restaurant was being taken over by ??. We didn't have lunches. At breakfast, they were "out of" this and that. Our room was ok, but we had trouble with the AC and the bathroom was somewhat small. No counter space to lay
your make-up or barely your toothbrush! Customer service was lacking somewhat, in that we #5 women# called for a car to take us
to airport #of course we all had a suitcase# and 1 cab#car#came. Not a van, but a car. I will say that we met and made friends with your most prized employee - waitress in restaurant. She bent over backwards for us day and night. We highly commend her!!
I hope that my next stay at Holiday Inn will be a little more comfortable.

Hello! I stayed in Holiday Inn 31 st and I had a great time. The hotel is clean and confortable. The hotel satff is well prepared, specilally Joe that help me and my husband whenever we neddeed. We will strongly recommend the hotel to our friends.

This hotel has a friendly and helpful staff, and the location is superb. It is within walking distance of attractions, restaurants, and theater, and Amtrak and subway are also close.

he best thing about this hotel is the location, between 5th and 6th with access to Broadway and easy walking distance to Times Square, NBC Studios and a few minutes from the Empire State Building. If you love to walk around the city, then this is the place for you. The front desk staff are also a very strong reason to stay here. They are great. When we were leaving we had planned on using the train to get to Long Island but realized there were too many steps what with our suit cases. So person at front desk recommended a car service, which he arranged for us. Was very impressed. Now, the other side, being a first timer to the city, did not realize how small rooms would be and with three people we were severely cramped. The beds were also a little too hard and the set-up with the bathroom sink left little room for our stuff.
The restaurant was nice, but found service very slow, especially one lunch when there were few people in the restaurant. Would I go back? Hard to say. The price was right, as was location, but too cramped.

Front desk staff were excellent and with their knowledge of the area we were able to plan our stay much better.
12 minutes walk from Times Square and all the great shopping and theatres.
The hotel does not have any views but was modern and the staff overall were great.
Hats off to the front office staff for their help.

I experienced a horrible issue with billing.....in addition to charging my card before arrival (without notice). We changed the card to be billed at the time of arrival. After confirming several times there would be no additional charges to the card used for the reservation. After checkout we found both cards (the one used for reservations and the one used at final checkout) were BOTH charged AND BOTH were charged TWICED!! The inability to bill accurately ruined the whole stay, therefore I would not stay here again

Don't let the fact that it isn't a Holiday Inn Express deter you from staying here. I was a bit leery but their decision to not become a HI Express was clearly a conscious choice on their part and neither an inability to meet the standard or an unwillingness to invest into their own property. They've done a great job of maintaining and renovating their property. I imagine the big reason why they chose to avoid the HI Express brand is because they have a full service restaurant/bar in the lobby and are unwilling to kick them out so they can give free breakfasts.
Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. I called down to the front desk for suggestions, he was with someone checking in and said he or someone on his staff would call me back. They did inside of five minutes. The bed was great, sheets were everything you'd expect. Lovely place.
Expensive but no more than any other hotel in NYC of similar quality.

This hotel was all good for us. Right in the middle of mid town, steps away from many restaurants and 2 subway stations. Bed was enormous but then then where we come from such size beds are unusual. Room facilities service was very good and facilities good too. Of course New York is a busy full on place so we couldn't rate the hotel as restful because all was busy and the noise of the city is everyewhere but that's not this hotels fault. The hotel is compact and not like the big places nearby with hundreds of rooms. Didn't use the bar/restaurant except to have a drink one night so can't say much about the food.
If there could be any criticism perhaps some tea bags rather than all coffee and a little bit more soap in the bathroom.

Our experience here was OUTSTANDING! From the friendliness on the phone (Alex) to walking in and being greeted by a smile and personality (Katie). The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. The rooms are just right for a long weekend, and I HIGHLY recommend the pizza package! =) Don't be nervous about the bus station next to it...the LOCATION IS AWESOME! Thank you so much to everyone!

Stayed for four nights in May 2013 and this hotel exceeded my expectations. It is in a great location and the rooms are clean and relatively spacious for NY and the beds were very comfortable. However, the staff make this hotel great. Every person that we spoke to on the front desk was friendly no matter what time of day or night. Even the staff that we met in the lift asked us how our stay was going and were happy to answer our questions about places to visit. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

This was my first trip to New York City. The property is located within walking distance of many attractions. Upon check-in, I was greeted by Alexander. He was very professional and courteous. He took the time to inform me about the property (location of the business center, fitness center, & restaurant) and insisted that I contact the front desk should I have any questions or concerns..
After a long day, I decided to enjoy a cocktail and dinner at the restaurant. The service at Contorno's Restaurant was great. Jayne, Spiero (Sp?), & Lisa made me feel very welcome.
My hotel room was clean and very comfortable.
I am positive that I will be staying here the next time I am in New York.
