My sister and I stumbled on the Holiday Inn / Wall Street when googling for a hotel in the Lower Manhattan / World Trade area because we were going to the 9/11 Museum among other things for the weekend. What a great find! As lots of others have written, we didn’t care that the rooms were small, because we weren’t ‘vacationing’ in the room! The room had exactly what we needed: free WiFi, a TV, closet, iron, desk. The bathroom was SPOTLESS (a HUGE plus for us) and it had a tiny window we could open and get fresh air! The sheets were clean too! (I just wish the bedskirt didn’t touch the carpet ). We were on the 13th floor and could see the beacon on top of the Freedom Tower. The subway, pharmacies, and restaurants were literally a stone’s throw from the hotel. We easily walked over to World Trade and Brookside Place (used to be World Financial with the beautiful palm trees) by the Hudson. We will absolutely return. We just wish we had early check-in and that the rate was about 20% less. The hotel was a jewel, and so were the front desk and lobby staff. October 14, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not worthy of the name brand There's nothing exactly WRONG with this hotel, but there's basically nothing right with it either. Except the shower had good pressure. " Desk is the size of an end table. Sink was slightly larger than an airplane bathroom. Wardrobe had a safe that prevented my clothing from hanging properly. TV was missing about a third of the channels. Staff seemed indifferent to guests. October 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Honeymoon in NYC Though the hotel is being overshadowed by tall buildings around its area overall our stay is very satisfying. We got a good room and the location is very close to I believe 6 metro lines which runs to all the tourist destinations in NY. Staffs are very friendly and attentive though the complimentary given to us was not passed to the morning staff hence the additional questions(why we were given such things, and will inform the staff that it we are not entitled-such drama that i did not bother to pay attention to as we are on our honeymoon). But then again overall it is very satisfying. October 13, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service If you are looking for a place that is in the heart of Manhattan and affordable then Holiday Inn Express is your answer - Employees are very friendly and helpful - I even got a call to see how my first night was and that has never happen to me in any hotel. The room was comfortable and I was actually able to sleep in the king size bed...bed was better than my bed..(smile) Great place...Thanks Holiday Inn for your help in making my business trip in NYC great ! _ I will be back - October 9, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent place to sleep All we needed was a place to sleep in New York City. The rate was much better than most other hotels. The hotel was clean and did the job. Very close to Wall Street, World Trade Center, and Brooklyn Bridge. Subway is only two blocks away and makes travel to anywhere in the city very convenient. Checking in and checking out was slow due to the small lobby and understaffed desk. Took a long time to get our bags from the holding area at the end of our trip. September 25, 2014

There are serious deficiencies in the quality of service and attitude of the staff though one or two exceptions were observed. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by oh what a night following an incident in the hotel we were left poorly informed and frustrated and had a sleepless night. Abysmal customer consideration and care. Compensation was derisory and has left a very bitter taste. We prepaid breakfast which ended up as a voucher for $20 between 2 of course you don't get much for that and we had to pay extra plus tip. We mentioned to the waitress politely that coffee was lukewarm and could she replace which she did begrudgingly but after that she glared at us and was rude. Don't expect to get into your room before the allocated time of 3pm. Room and location excellent, surprisingly we would stay there again as it could never be as bad twice as all previous IHG stays have been excellent September 18, 2014

No great view, but I wasn't there for the view. Room and bathroom was small, but I was there for a safe resting place not for luxury. Was everything I expected. The room was small and not so clean, wall and carpet looks old. AIr con is old but it does do its job of cooling down the room. Bathroom is fine. September 4, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice stay but few suggessions 1. The hotel need to have a business center to meet the copying, scanning, printing etc needs of the guests. 2. I needed to scan a document for sending to office as an attachment by email and the receptionist tried to help but no facility was available in the hotel. 3. Suggest more variety of complementary tea sachets in the room. In addition to the complementary coffee and black tea, suggest to also include green tea sachets. 4. Suggest telephone extension at bedside and in the washroom. 5. At times the lobby seems too crowded. 6. The receptionist needs an additional person to assist if there are more people waiting to be helped August 31, 2014
