Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by peter118 Great Front Desk Staff
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Wall Street for a week in June for business training. Though the room was small (as most hotels in the area are), it was clean and comfortable. I was not impressed with the restaurant (tried dinner and breakfast there), though there are numerous meal choices in the area, to more than make up for it. And the exercise facilities (3 cardio machines I believe) was extremely small.
What I was most impressed with, and enjoyed the most, was the front desk staff - Ashley, Stella & Leslie. They were the most friendy, pleasant and helpful people I have ever met. They always greeted me upon entering and leaving the premise. They were right on top of an issue I encountered (with food service). Helpful with directions and directions. Just nice friendly people!!!
Without a doubt, if ever I am back in the area again, I would not hesitate to stay at this Holiday Inn again!!

Thank you for making my NY trip just a little more enjoyable :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chris80AUS Surprisingly quiet and cosy
I stayed for 4 nights in the Holiday Inn at Wallstreet, and for a Hotel in the heart of Manhattan, the room was really quiet with close to non traffic noise audible from my room. I was on ninth floor, so maybe that was a reason too. An important thing in a hotel for me are the beds, and in this case they were exceptionally comfortable. I was much better able to sleep than I usually am in an unfamiliar bed. Everything was also noticably clean, so no complaints there. It is expensive, though, but that just goes with the very central location at the south end of Manhattan. I would probably choose it again, considering the comfortable accommodation and the friendly service.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn from May 31-June 2. The staff there was very friendly and accommodating-- we arrived in New York at about 8:30 in the morning and got to the hotel by 9:30, and we were able to get our room even though official check-in wasn't until 3pm. They were also extremely helpful with directions and information on touristy things. Our room was pretty small-- you basically open the door and walk right into the bed-- but it was nothing I didn't expect, and we only went back to the hotel to sleep anyway.
My only issue is with the security deposit. I gave the front desk my credit card at check-in, thinking it was just for them to have an authorized card on file (since they didn't say otherwise), but they actually placed a hold on some funds. It wasn't a large amount, but I would prefer to have been informed about it first, especially because it could have caused me to overdraw on my card.
Other than that, we had a great experience, and I would definitely stay there again.

This Holiday Inn is a little bigger than the other ones in Midtown/lower Manhattan. The location, while if you're staying over a weekend doesn't have much going on it is located next to the green line and a CVS to make life a little easier on the traveler.
To be specific, the hotel is updated, but nothing close to the new remodels of the HI Expresses. Everything was very clean, the room I had was about the size of a one car garage. There is no pool of course, but that's expected in this area.
However the best part about this Holiday Inn is the service. Everyone at the front desk was incredibly nice and attempted to accommodate our travel as best as possible. The HI on 6th Ave could learn quite a bit from these guys.
Anyway, if you're concerned with where to stay in lower Manhattan:
-Relatively far from Times Square/main downtown activities
-Long ride to/from LGA/JFK (Taxi was around $40)
-Near the green line
-Near a 24 hour store
-Rooms are decent size

We stayed at the Holiday Inn May, 29-May 31,2013. You could not find a more helpful and friendly staff. Our room was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for walking to many of the sites of the Financial District. Do not waste your time with the restaurant in the hotel. You get one "free" Continental breakfast which is either a old muffin which the hotel is charged $8 or fruit or danish and YOU are charged over $6 service fee plus tax for the "free" breakfast even if you are in the restaurant. The extra funny thing about this is they still expect a tip. We had to ask for our check three times and were the ONLY people in the restaurant.

It was my daughter's first time to NYC and we had such a great time. The location, staff, and condition of the property was perfect. We stayed on the 19th floor and our room was very comfortable, along with the bed and pillows. I will return to this wonderful Holiday Inn Express, staying in the Wall Street area was super convenient to everything; LIttle Italy, Chinatown, harbor, Freedom Towers/Ground Zero and great shopping. Transportation was easy taking the Airtrain from JFK with subway transfer and only walking one block to the hotel.

Most of us are familiar with the expression "wanting Champagne on a beer budget". Well, this hotel is "getting beer but paying for Champagne". As a loyal IHG visitor and Priority Club member, I'll leave it at that.

I arrived on Sunday, May 12th and checked out Tuesday, May 14th. Check-in and check-out was a breeze and took no time at all. My room was on the 3rd floor, and like the majority of NYC rooms, was quite small but comfortable. The room was clean as was the bathroom. Water pressure in the shower was lacking slightly but is on par with most NYC rooms I've stayed in in the past.
Location in the Financial District is very good and is also very close to several different subway lines.
For a quick, non-family trip to NYC, this is a very nice room and I would recommend to others. I will stay here again on my next trip.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FurryNewYorker Great Hotel, Great Location (but don't drive if you can avoid it)
I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Nassau St. for the 5-Boro Bike Ride in 2013. I found the room quite comfortable and clean. My particular room was very spacious by Manhattan standards but I think I was upgraded for some reason.
The staff were extremely polite and helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. From the moment I put in the reservation to the moment I checked out, they concerned themselves with nothing but my comfort and enjoyment. Excellent customer service.
The price is on par with other New York hotels meaning not cheap but definitely not high end price either. Still, the price is a good one considering the location which, despite being in the financial district, is still buzzing on weekends. Easy access to subways is a big plus, just make sure to do your homework on weekend subway service changes. That's par for the course in NYC.
The one thing I would warn about is having a car. While the hotel does have a deal for reasonably priced (by NYC standards) parking a few blocks away, pulling up to the hotel and loading/unloading is not easy. There is one "parking space" in front of the hotel that is a loading zone however, when I was there, it was always occupied, in some cases by police vehicles that just couldn't find anywhere else to park I suppose. If you do have a car, it's helpful to have someone who can stay with it while the other transfers luggage. Nassau St. is narrow and there's no room to double park.
Overall, this was a really good hotel and I will likely stay there again for next year's 5-Boro.

This was our first stay on Nassau Street and we enjoyed it very much. The lobby is small, but the staff provided excellence service. One drawback was my request at check-in on Sunday for late check-out on Wednesday morning. The Sunday staffer was agreeable, but the Tuesday staff had no record of the request so I am glad that I confirmed it. The late check-out is key to our travel schedule and eased any stress for us.
I was a little confused at directions toward Broadway or Water St. at first, but got acclimated pretty quickly. The nearby eateries are excellent and there is always people around even in the evening.
We were given a corner room on 19th room, which was quiet and comfortable. Will stay here again.

This is a small hotel with a great lower Manhattan location. But what really makes it stand out is the stellar level of service provided by staff. Front front desk to housekeeping to management, everyone in this hotel has worked hard to meet my requests, help with changed plans, etc.
The people here make me feel welcome and make the place feel like home. Really great people, and I recommend the hotel highly for that reason.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PaulYYZ Convenient location, reasonable price, freshly renovated room
Convenient location for the Wall Street area at a "reasonable" price. Recently renovated room (April 2013). Small as might be expected in New York city with strangely short and narrow hallways. Free high speed wifi in the room worked great. Shower stall with no tub. I would definitely go there again when business takes me there.
Restaurant on site but seemed to be out if stock of basic items eg sold out of oatmeal at 7:30 am? Slimy fruit in the "fresh fruit" bowl? Should have gone to Starbucks next door.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BusinessTraveler18 Don't book here if you are driving a car
I arrived at the hotel at around 11:15 PM in a rental car. I learned when I checked in that the hotel does not have a parking lot. They had contracted with a parking lot that is about two blocks away and difficult to get to due to a number of "one-way" streets. They did not offer a parking valet. The weather was miserable and I did not feel safe walking back to the hotel at that late hour. (The Holiday Inn website does not tell you this and understated the cost of parking.) The evening front desk staff were not friendly nor were they helpful or considerate. The only bright spot in this issue was the hotel manager and morning desk staff who were attentive to my needs. (They both apologized for the experience and did attempt to make amends.)
The hotel lobby is almost non-existent; it was not roomy or comfortable. The hotel room was small. The room was clean and the TV and Internet were fine.

This place worked great for us...convenient and good value. Small rooms (but it is NYC) but very clean and nice which is what mattered to us. And the best part is how great the staff was...we needed to stay an extra night and they went out of their way to find us a room on a fully booked weekend. They were also very helpful with maps and all kinds of directions to get around the city. Thank you!

I went up this year, as last, to cheer on my kids who ran the half-marathon for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. The rooms are quite small but beautifully appointed. Luckily, my son and I got the only two terrace rooms in the hotel. The barman was clueless and he overcharged, so avoid the restaurant/bar adjacent to the hotel and go to Brasserie Les Halles, two blocks away at 15 John St., if you'd like legendary food and drink at reasonable prices. I love this hotel.

A gem of a hotel at a great price. The rooms are small but very well appointed and laid out, clean, and comfortable. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to please. Overall, I was had a magnificent stay while on business and leisure in New York. The staffs attend to all my needs and offered professional service. Internet service was excellent, the room was immaculate and meticulously maintain. If I had any criticisms, it would be there was no free breakfast, which has been offer at other Holiday Inn Express prior. Furthermore, the Hotel was comfortable, a great place to stay, close to public transportation, and had a good variety of restaurant to eat close by. I will definitely come back again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent Staff and Location, Rooms, Service
I would recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone. I usually stay in lower midtown, but all was booked up, so I took a chance on Holiday Inn Wall Street, and much to my surprise, the stay was much more comfortable than I anticipated. Staff was extremely friendly, courteous, helpful, the rooms were spacious for Manhattan, location seems far but service from the A Train, the 2 and 3 Trains, are all nearby, all connecting to most all subways terminals. Although this is not a vibrant community, especially on the weekends, it is peaceful, safe, and also parking if you travel by car is very nearby and inexpensive. I rate this Hotel on a personal scale of A+ for a Holiday Inn, even Housekeeping was pleasant and did not bother me at 7 AM like other Hotels, being I had asked for later Housekeeping. I would recommend this Hotel, even for those who are not familiar with NY, just try to get a subway map, and you will see from the A, 2 and 3 Trains, all Subways are accessible by transfers. One side note, Taxis are a bit hard to get out, but easy to get a Cab back to Hotel. I was there on a Holiday Weekend, so perhaps that was why I noticed this, it may be different during business days, and easier to hail a cab. Once again, Excellent Hotel, and the Federal Cafe is Fantastic!

I have stayed at a few other hotels in the finacial district before. This Holiday Inn had larger rooms and bathrooms than the typical hotel in the area. The room had everything I needed - decent TV and selection of channels, WiFi, comfortable bed. The rate was excellent and the staff was friendly. This isn't on a very busy street, so noise in the room isn't bad (was on the 16th floor street side). Food options in this part of town aren't the best, but the hotel staff did point out where to find restarants in the area. I will be back to this location when I have to travel for business.

I usually stay in midtown, but finding an available hotel at a reasonable price was a challenge. This one, although I do think was on the high side (but I guess its December in NY!), was clean and comfortable. TV was hit and miss on whether you could pick up a channel, but i'm not the biggest watcher of TV so wasn't too bothered. Beds are super comfy and room was clean. It is a little out of the action being in lower Manhattan, but the subway is close by and only $2.50 for a one way ride. Do not get a cab - expensive & slow! Would I stay again? Yes, if I had business that end of town, but I think I'd generally look to stay more centrally next time.

I called the day before our stay to find out about parking. Ashley was very helpful and answered my questions about the hotel. When we checked in the next day, she was at the reception desk and remembered our conversation, welcomed us and greeted us. She knew that this was our first stay, recognized us as priority members and we received a welcome basket.
Our room was comfortable. I loved the Bed and Bath Shampoo and Conditioner, and we felt very safe in the hotel.
The staff exceeded our expectations. I look forward to staying here again, when we come to visit our daughter at school.
