Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not recommended at all Unfortunately, this was one of the worst stays ever for us. In summary, the hotel room was extremely old where the renovation was overdue for quite bit. The bathroom was totally not acceptable. The elevator system was ancient where you are guaranteed to wait forever in the morning busy hours. And the WiFi connection is basically useless due to its extremely poor/slow performance. December 12, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Service I stay in various HI/ HIE hotels for business travel. The stay and amenities if not luxurious are generally decent and comfortable. However, my recent stay at NY Midtown hotel was not at all up to IHG standards. 1. I checked-in late in the night and received no 'preferred guest' welcome, free water bottle/ coupon. In fact had to manually get my IHG number added to the reservation, although I checked, it was already reflecting under my online profile. Sounds like a petty issue but if seen free water bottle/ coupon is the only quantified advantage of being a platinum member IMO. (I must mention IHG Twitter handle was quick to acknowledge my concern and offered a free drink next day. However, the lady at front desk was least bothered) 2.The rooms and hotel facility is not at all value for money. I stayed for 5 nights with high average night charges. The rooms are old, bathroom flush was leaking and walls are thin with noise from neighbors. 3. Management decides whether to have Cold or Heat mode in your room. While I was staying, one night it was really hot and the room temperature was in late 70s. The only solution recommended by the technician was to open the windows for fresh air as hotel had turned off cooling for the season and technically their was no cooling option available. With the IHG preferred status calendar year coming to an end I am highly inclined to move my loyalty to some other chain. I have had couple of such incidents at some other properties as well recently, which makes me wonder if IHG really values loyal guests. December 8, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by We won't be staying here again We walked into a hot, perfume filled room. Housekeeping had applied a carpet deodorizer and had the heat turned way up. The perfume smell remained for our two night stay. No A/C so we had to crack the window to cool the room and reduce the smell. 11th floor, street side...Very noisy. No smiles, good mornings, have a nice day from anyone, theY were too busy visiting with each other to acknowledge their guests, except the concierge, she was terrific. The location is convenient, but we will not be using this hotel again. We were thankful to have planned a move to another location for the remainder of our week in NYC. December 6, 2014
