Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Poor cleaning staff ruined the stay
After a long trip up from Liverpool and a night of celebration, it was hoped that a good night sleep could have been had, but this was not the case. Rudely awoken at half 8 by a noisy cleaner shouting into rooms and slamming every door possible. This went on for 2 hours at which point I decided to get up.
The DO NOT DISTURB sign was applied and the cleaner barged through the door, this time not shouting (no apology was made). In my view we had the room until 12 so should be entitled to stay there, without being indirectly forced out of the room by an impatient and inconsiderate cleaner who wanted to finish his duties early.
Like most hotels now it was clean and tidy so this tarnished our whole stay as it was a surprise trip for my girlfriends birthday

Have enjoyed weekend breaks at this hotel two or three time a year for a few years and we always have an enjoyable stay.
Nice hotel, nice clean room, nice staff, good value if bokked well in advance.
Great to be able to park the car and walk to town or one stop on the Metro

We have stayed in this Hotel several times when we visit Newcastle and have always had a lovely room and the staff in reception are first class.
The Holiday Inn on Jesmond Road would always be our first choice when we are in Necastle and the few times that we have had to book in anywhere else we have always been disappointed.
Thank you for another great weekend and we look forward to our next stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was superb with excellent en-suite. Well recommended and as good as some So called high class hotels I have stayed at.

Room very pleasant -bed comfortable and room well appointed. Had a really good night's sleep.
Evening meal in Italian restaurant in hotel was very enjoyable though with restaurant being full service was a little slow.
Breakfast was fine - good choice & variety on offer. Service was efficient and friendly. One note of disappointment was that the carpets had not been hoovered sufficient well for there was traces of food on it from the previous days evening meals.

Hotel as expected really but what a poor mattress. I don't know whether there had been a problem with the bed but the one in the room was poor; so poor in fact it spoilt the stay even though the Holiday Inn have added some nice complimentary touches.

Newcastle is a pain to park in and as this hotel has a free car park and is within a 10 minute walk of the town centre so it has a lot to offer.
Coupled with that the staff are very helpful and the rooms are comfy. Only problem is some of the rooms have chocolate coloured shades which are useless if you want to be able to read a book.
