Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Family celebration Stayed at the hotel for a family celebration which was fantastic, in the Rothbury Suite - so nicely set out and the staff were attentive to our needs, excellent. Absolutely no complaints there. Bedrooms small though, and bed very poor to the point of rolling into the centre so very poor sleep - really need changing, in what otherwise was a nicely decorated room. April 10, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service (and food!) From the moment you check in, the staff at the hotel are efficient and friendly. The hotel has a friendly feel and is well maintained with immaculate common areas. The room was very comfortable with good quality furnishings and a huge double bed. The evening meal in the Italian restaurant was excellent with a good choice of menu and an even better choice of wine!. The waiting staff were again attentive and friendly. The breakfast, although a buffet style, included freshly cooked eggs with a good selection of hot and cold food. The staff even ensured that I had my selected newspaper after they mistakenly delivered the wrong one. Check out was efficient and the bill spot on. The hotel is located in a pleasant are just a mile or so from Newcastle city centre and a 3 minute walk to the Metro station. Good parking facilities make this an easily accessible hotel for both business and pleasure. I would rate my stay as five star and happily recommend this to anyone visiting the area. April 8, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Surprisingly good I wasn't ecpecti the hotel to be as good as it was. I was impressed by the foyer, roomy and light. The room was very comfortable with every amenity I needed for my stay. I used the lobby bar a couple of times and though impressed with the selection of beverages, I was not too impressed with the amount of time having to wait to be served. I ate in the main bar a coue of times also. Both times I asked at the bar for a menu. The first time, I was immediately given amenu and time to decide what to order. The second time the bar person rolled her eyes and pointed to meus that had been put onto tables at the other end of the room. Stating that I will have to use one of those. That was the only down side. The main restruaunt was comfortable with a great menu, friendly and helpful staff, though a little expensive So all done a good stay April 5, 2015
