Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unfortunate nightmare We stayed at this hotel last weekend on Sat 15th Nov for a birthday treat. Sadly it turned out to be far from that! I chose this hotel because of it's facilities and great location just off the A1. However we could not access it from any sliproads due to extensive roadworks which were not stated on the website at the time of booking. Had I known the journey was going to be so stressful due to not being able to approach the hotel from any main route, I would have chosen another one. Even the diversion signs did not lead us to the hotel, they just led us to roads that were shut. Eventually after nearly 2hours circling the area around it I had to ring to cancel. At this point a lovely staff member(not sure I'm allowed to name her) came out to find us braving all the traffic chaos and badly signed diversions. We finally arrived much later than expected, quite stressed and not at all in the birthday spirit. On the plus side the room was lovely, facilities great and food fantastic. Such a shame it was spoilt but we would love to go again, hassle free next time! November 22, 2014

The food and drinks were very good and the menu choice seemed to cater for all tastes. The reception staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. November 15, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Restaurant having stayed in the hotel for a few nights I found the menu tiresome. Perhaps the menu for the day should not be selections from the standard menu. It suggest that is is food that you want to get rid of rather than what is recommended for that day or a special item selected by the chef. November 15, 2014
