Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Trip I really enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Newport. One of the best part was eating at the great Italian restaurant. I would travel again just to eat there. Also the other thing is the restaurant serves breakfast in your room or you can go down for breakfast. Fantastic. One other thing. This hotel was one of the cleanest that I have ever visited. Restaurant had excellent food, far above that found in many hotel chains, however, service was only okay or average. All in all a very nice hotel and good value. February 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stinky smell When entering the room there was a strong odor of rotten eggs I looked around to see where the smell was coming from after realizing it was coming from the bathroom I closed the door with exhaust fan on to see if the smell would go away when I went to take a shower that night the smell was still there but not as strong after showering I brushed my teeth and the sink filled up like I was plugging it after turning the water off it drained. When we went to go outside to smoke the elevator floor had water all over it and at least 5 people were loading in, spoke to desk clerk about both issues nothing was done. When checking out the next morning after having to sleep with exhaust fan and bathroom door closed all night I also told lady at front desk she did not apologize or say anything said lady gave me a receipt when I checked in,she was very short and not friendly at all. I will not stay in this or any other Holiday Inn again very poor service. Also sent an email to corporate and did not get a response from them as well. January 15, 2014

We complained about it to the front desk staff but did not get any satisfaction. The internet/TV was not working due to unknown circumstances. October 15, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Scent in room The night I spent here was ok with almost everything...We left the room for a bit and when we came back there was a really bad smell. We called down to front desk and told them, The only thing they did was to send a security man up w/a can of fabreezze and sprayed so much we felt like we were choking. It was late enough we just wanted to sleep and leave the next morning... September 28, 2013

We have stayed here at least 15 times and each time has been comfortable. The staff is efficient and always ready to be of service for all your needs. The food at the restaurant is very good but a little expensive. My only complaint is the pillows are about half the size of your normal pillow. No problem for me because I now bring my own! You will not be disappointed in your stay here! September 25, 2013

We started going there because it's very convenient to CNU but keeping coming back because the staff is very friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant is a "real" restaurant and is not a chain. It's nice to get a real breakfast instead of just a continental breakfast, though they serve other meals too. September 25, 2013

Had everything I needed including Internet service. Staff was very helpful and professional and all my needs were met immediately. Made my trip very relaxing and enjoyable. And the guy at the counter looked at me like a deer in the headlights when I told him about it. On the other hand I stayed at your hotel at the Norfolk airport and everyone there was awesome! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Other then the logo Naturally the Holiday Inn logo outside and inside reminded me of where I was, but if it wasn't for them inside, I might have felt lost in my own dream staying in a highend Hotel. I was blown away in the Loby first. Updated and upscale looks throughout inside the property. I was greated with utmost hospitality at the desk. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, and decorated very well. When i went down to eat, once again i was blown away by the style, ppl, menu, and wine list . My dinner was fantastic with constant service and smiles. In all the holiday inn's I have been staying at for over a decade, this is the, by far, best resturant I have ever eaten at H inn. I highly recommend staying here. My only 2 negative remarks is, 1). was not impressed with the pool, altho I did not swim 2). I could only stay 1 night and was for business, not pleasure August 17, 2013

The service and employees were very nice and easy to deal with. When we went to our room, it was suppose to be non-smoking and as soon as I opened the door it was apparent someone had been there smoking. We went to the front desk and they moved us immediately without any questions. The restuarant, breakfast and the staff were excellent. The hotel, lobby,and restuarant were very clean and well maintained. Our rooms were well furnished with nice linens and very clean. I would say this hotel reminds me of a nice upscale hotel with a reasonable rates. Grounds around the hotel were neat and clean as well. August 16, 2013
