just wanted to say we stayed during a rain storm and very high winds knocked out the power we were on the secong floor and couldnt find anyone to help us i had to carry my suitcase up and down the stairs twice and there was no light in the hallways and you couldnt see 2 steps in front of you i couldnt believe there wasnt a generator in a hotel like that i dont think i wuld stay there again

I was nervous about staying at this hotel after reading two poor reviews on this site moments before arriving at the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. I arrived very late in the evening, but was greeted by a friendly and alert employee at the front desk who checked me in quickly and offered me a complimentary snack and a bottle of water. I found my room in good condition. It was clean and had plenty of towels, soap, and pillows. My biggest concern, after reading a negative review, was that the internet would be less than adequate, since I would need to use the internet over the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised once more. The internet was fast, reliable, and easy to set-up. I did not have a single problem all weekend. At the end of my stay, I used the small business center to print my boarding passes and directions to the airport, and then literally walked out the door, taking advantage of Holiday Inn's speedy check out procedure. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in North Haven.

I am primarily a business traveler. This profile necessitates Internet access from any facility in which I stay in order to conduct business during the evening. Indeed, I average between 80 and 100 nights annually in Holiday Inns and Crowne Plazas for me alone. I also have a staff of three that also depend on HI and Crowne Plaza accommodations. Last week, 11/26 and 11/27, in particular, was a nightmare as lack of Internet access precluded me from working and resulted in my inability to meet a client deadline. I find this totally unacceptable regardless of the cause. That said, the hotel staff, although understanding and cordial, could do nothing to solve the technical difficulties. They actually agreed to pay for my dinner and offered some bonus priority club points, which was nice. Alas, it did not help save the client relationship. There are too many of your facilities in which the Internet access is unreliable. You must invest in more technology infrastructure. If there are no plans as such, please indicate this to me and I will subsequently plan accordingly.

Yes, I know us smokers are considered the lowest form of humans on this earth, but do we really have to be treated like dirt? The "smoking section" in on the first floor in the back of the hotel. There were probably only three rooms being used because the others were being painted. At 6PM I asked the painters if they always worked so late and was told they were the second shift and would be working for a couple more hours. So as I went back and forth from my car to my room, the paint smell was awful and then I could smell it in my room. Every time I passed the workers they had something to say to me (mind your own business and do your job). The carpeting in the hallways and the room were stained and disgusting.
There was hardly any lighting in the rear parking lot. I parked there so that I could see my car from my room. The rear parking lot abutts the train tracks. I had to leave early the next morning and was scared to death to walk out to my car by myself.
I went into the bar area to get a sandwich "to go" to bring to my room and was in there for 45 minutes. They are so slow. I have been there to lunch where I was there for 2 hours to eat a simple lunch. I am the person who contracts hotels for my company and this one is being taken off the list immediately. I would NEVER let my employees, customers or other VIPs stay at this hotel.
