The staff and food at The Beverly Garland hotel was exceptional. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. My only complaint was that the old A/C unit makes a lot of noise when it comes on and shuts off, making it hard to sleep with the A/C on. So I had to sleep with the fan only, which made the room warmer than I like (I like it very cold when I sleep). They do have black-out curtains which made the room nice and dark when I slept, which was nice since I'm sensitive to light and sound. The bed was comfortable - which is a big plus since I have a bad back and find beds that are too hard very painful. With the exception of the A/C unit, the room was quiet, I didn't hear any other noises at all. The food at the restaurant is exactly the same as the room service food and was impeccable, as was the staff that delivered it. The bathrooms are very small (an older hotel) but just enough. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Dear Sirs
My overall experience was quite good at this property.
However, the service at Tula´s was under overall expectations. There were always delays, few waiters and long time to have a meal.
Another problem is that there are few restaurants near to the area, what makes this restaurant more critical in terms of pricing and service.
Regards
Adriana

NancyD64 Great service & great hotel
We recently travelled for a whole month staying at a variety of accomadations but this was our favourite stop along the way by far!
The service was great, all staff were very friendly and helpful and having the restaurant & bar at the front was really handy. The free shuttle to universal was really good and they will drop you at the metro as well.
We would return in a heartbeat & would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to stay.

Arrived late, but check in was smooth and easy. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room was very comfortable and the upgraded patio doors worked great.
This property has lots of charm and history to the area. I am making this a regular stop when travel allows.
If you are a Priority Club member, you will enjoy this hotel.
Only wish the room rate was less, but hey just watching my budget.

My family stayed at the Holiday Inn Beverly Garland in March of this year. We spent 3 nights in a Kids Suite room. Needless to say, our two kids loved having their own space (15 year old and 8 year old). The look/feel of the hotel is very much nostalgic Hollywood. It was wonderfully well maintained and our room as very clean and nice. The bed was WONDERFUL! We really enjoyed the pool area as well. The complementary shuttle to Universal Studios was perfect. We would hop on at night and go have dinner at City Walk. It was also great after a long day at Universal Studios.
The location is perfect. We did some Hollywood sight-seeing and even took off for a day trip to San Clemente. We just loved this hotel and can't wait to get back next year!

My daughter and I took my two pre-teen grandsons to Universal Studios and wanted a hotel in the area that had a shuttle we could take to the attraction and was not over-priced. Holiday Inn Express was perfect. Although I reserved a 2 Queen bed room, we were upgraded (at no extra charge) to a very nice room with a Queen bed and bunk beds for the boys. The boys were delight because they do not like sleeping together! The shuttle bus took us to Universal Studios and picked us up in a timely manner, and the driver was friendly and helpful. All in all our stay was pleasant and I would highly recommend this location.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Golden22 Nice property and excellent service
Even though we stayed for only one night we were still very impressed with the quality of the hotel and service. We stayed only with plan to visit Universal Studios the next day and afterwards return to Las Vegas.. I gues the hotel has experience with guest checking out early still needing a secure parking space while enjoying a full day at the park without additional charge. The hotel provides a trolley transportation to and from Universal Studios at no cost. This is very convenient when you want avoid traffic or if you are unfamiliar with the area. Another plus is free Internet where we learned how to order food online from various types of cuisine or eatery which is easier and faster.. We are very impressed with the excellent service.

My 12 yr old and I stayed 8 nights, beds comfortable. Hotel grounds very nice , pool area, outdoor dining. Very relaxing.. Child old have eaten free at Tula's ...great food but wanted adult food. Priced competitively. Staff was nice, they were redoing all patio doors with more sound proof doors, close to Hwy 101 ..convenient to travel had rental car. By joining Hgi. - Priority club save s $3 off parking $12 a night. I stay in Chicago and it is $25or more. Shuttle great and reliable ,felt safe in area at all times. Would highly recommend and stay again. Only thing getting two coffee packs, 2 sugar packs , 2 lids each day was a task, left notes each day with a tip to try to get all correct for in room coffee maker.

Came here to visit Universal and Walk of Fame and the staff was more than willing to help with my questions about what to do on our last day there. They gave great suggestions and were more than willing to do what was needed to make any arrangements they could. The room was nice. There were a few areas that you could tell were wearing down. A few of the outlets in our room didn't work. Other than that it was a nice room. It was right by the highway so we couldn't keep the balcony door open but when it was closed you couldn't hear the highway. Cleaning staff did a great job. Restaurant was good but not kid friendly. The shuttle was very convenient and you could go to Universal or get dropped off at the train station to go to the Walk of Fame. Overall a great experience. I would stay there again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by cfcooltower Room Cleanliness
For a Holiday Inn I expected better especially at $200 plus per night for a room. I was disappointed in the room carpet cleanliness as it was dirty to the point my family wore shoes in the room up to bed time. The tub would fill with shower water and the sink was the same way. It was very slow draining which and surely I could not have been the first guest to complain at the front desk.
The hotel was full and we could not change rooms.

Have been returning guest since 2000 ,sometimes 3times a year or more. I have spent a month at the hotel some years back. It is a home away from home. I do feel for a frequent guest such as myself you should offer free parking. As a matter of fact paying for parking is a thorn in my side.

Staff was great, very freindly and helpful! The Garland is an aged Hotel but upkeep has not been negletected, We were there to visit Universal Studios and the hotel's Shuttle was such a convenience and prompt. in the evening did not want a formal meal so we ordered Pizza from Domino's. Speedy delivery, and quite delicious for Domino's(not usually a fan of Domino's)!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by taylorborn Has bus to Universal Studios
The staff was polite and we requested and received some needed supplies we had left at home. A staff member was there in short order and even gave us more than we had requested. The bedding was not comfortable. Although the bed was ok, the pillows were lumpy and not at all comfortable. One of us did not sleep well while there.
The part that we did not like was the $12 parking fee per night and we were there several nights, so it added up.
The walls are cinderblock and it had the feel of a college dorm and it had the sound of a college dorm on one night only when some kind of party was going on, although the remainder of the nights were nice and quiet.
We are vegetarian and the breakfast menu was woefully unprepared for folks who do not eat animal products. Drinks at the bar were nicely done.

The Beverly Garland Holiday Inn has history but not age. They're just finishing a window upgrade so should be done by the time you arrive! Nice pool, workout room, bar and restaurant. Shuttles to Universal but for us proximity to Hollywood, Melrose, and all freeways was a huge plus.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by George05 Everything is great about this hotel, except the room cleaners
We loved this hotel, good sized rooms, lovely restaurant, nice pool, close to universal etc BUT we were pretty disappointed in the room cleaning staff. 1st day we noticed the sheets had a horrible smell so we left a note as well as directly asked the cleaners to change the sheets..... To our surprise they didn't. 2nd day we deliberately left the conditioner, shampoo and lotion tray empty but that wasn't restocked and on the 3rd day our 5 year old had accidentally spilt some sugar on his bed. We obviously didn't have a hover so we left it hoping it would be taken care of but we found the sugar IN his bed. The cleaners let the place down.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Zebra71 Great Service but rooms need work
This hotel had excellent staff and friendly service. However, the rooms were noisy from neighbors and while I usually expect at least a contintental breakfast at Holiday Inns, this one does not provide free anything. You pay for parking and any food. The shuttle service was great. But again, the rooms were small and very noisy. The workout area was excellent.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Leeanne Not What I Expected
This was certainly not what I expected, based on the existing reviews & pictures. Our room was in a very dark and dingy area.
The carpets in the room were filthy, the air conditioner was so loud that it made sleepy difficult. The bathroom was extremely small, the sliding door to the balcony did not work. Overall I do not see how this place has a 4.4/5.0 rating. The room we had was certainly not worth the price that is being charged for them.
Would not stay here again or recommend to anyone. Maybe there are other areas of the property that are nicer, but our floor was not one of them.

Booked here for family vacation (couple with 2 kids). This hotel is located close to highway (but no traffic noise). We spent two nights here with wonderful swimming pool and hot tub experience. The hotel restaurant offers free meal to kids. Room is spacy and clean. Highly recommended, with good value.

The hotel is located close to Universal studios and hotel rooms accomodate families well with two bathrooms in suite. The shuttle to Universal studios was very useful and very regular. The staff at Bev's boutique was the most helpful person.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by skast We will be back!
We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed it The beds are comfortable and our room was quiet. There was no safe or fridge that I have come to rely on at many hotels. Ice was available on every other floor though. We did not use the pool, but it was good size, and set in both a sunny and shady location. As a priority member, our daily parking fee was discounted by $2.00. Every little bit helps.
We had a good breakfast and dinner at Tulu's. My husband did not care for his soup and they noticed he did not eat much and took it off our bill without us mentioning it . That was a surprise. The food was moderately priced and very good. I have an allergy to gluten, and they sent the chef out to talk to me about my choices. I was delighted.
We will be back the next time we are in Hollywood.
