Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel let down by poor restaurant. Great room and really nice reception staff too. That's the niceties done. Restaurant was the biggest let down by an absolute mile. All the good work done by the reception and its staff was undone. It seemed very understaffed which led to a slow and poor service. Over 1/2 hour wait for order to be taken twice and more than 45 minutes for food to arrive. When it did it was wrong. When the right meal came everyone else had finished their meal which was fine. What did annoy me though was as I was eating mine the plates were cleared. September 15, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by big room with everything you need On arrival the staff was very friendly and there was plenty of parking available. Room was big and had everything _ iron, ironing board, hair dryer, shower gel and shampoo. Big TV. Kettle with tea coffee and sugar. The bar staff were friendly. Breakfast was lovely. So much choice and was all freshly cooked. Would happily stay again! September 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong Weekend We wanted to be near Northampton, which coincided with a Silverstone racing weekend. this meant that hotel rates were high, with most not having rooms available. Being a Silverstone weekend, there was a lot of vehicle traffic leaving the hotel fairly early. Nice friendly welcome at reception. We only wanted the room for sleeping. No problems at all with the room. For the age of the decor the room was clean and tidy. Good size tv. The toilet roll location was somewhat awkward - under the sink, but was labelled. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Can't believe this is actually allowed to be called a Holiday Inn! We arrived at 12.45pm on August Bank Holiday Sunday to be told in no uncertain terms that check in was from 2pm - this was despite there being about 3 cars in the car park at the time. We went over to the pub over the road for some lunch and returned just after 2pm. The Duty manager radioed to see if the room was ready - it wasn't so he changed the room on the card to 114. This turned out to be the shabbiest hotel room I have stayed in for years. A badly stained carpet, a strange smell and queen beds whose mattresses could not have been more than four inches thick. The bed linen also smelt strange. I had to be in work at three so had to get ready rather than complain and ask to me moved. I returned after 10pm to a very cold room so put the heater on - only to switch it off again straight away due to the noise coming from it. I awoke cold during the night and tried again but sleep was impossible. I tried to connect to the internet and as a Gold IHG Rewards member expected a free option - there was none and the space on the room card for a code was blank. At checkout I advised the receptionist of the above and she said was very sorry but all their rooms were like that! Avoid like the plague! August 28, 2014

As usual, I'd left the booking until the last minute... a quick visit to various hotel sites left me wondering if it was too last/complicated... but then i noticed the Live Chat on the Holiday Inn site... the lady was quick to respond and very helpful... we needed adjoining rooms so we could keep an eye on the children (9 August 28, 2014
