Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A really nice hotel, close to the motorway and cities of East and West Midlands We chose to stay at this hotel for a second time, while taking family back to Coventry. it is a little distant from Coventry itself, but easy enough to get to either cross country or on the M6/M1 motorways. It is also close to Leicester and the tourist attractions of the East Midlands. The hotel is easy to find, about 2 minutes from the M1, but noise from the road is not a problem. The hotel is surrounded by lawns and even in the cold frost of a winter morning, the grounds looked good. The reception area is light, pleasant and not too busy, and because we arrived mid evening and were last to check in, we did have to wait a while for someone to come over from the bar area to check us in. That done, you cross a covered walkway to the rooms, which are pleasant and what we expect from this brand of hotel. Close to our room was a door out to the car park, which sadly kept being left open, and it did make our corridor a little cold at times. However, this was probably access to the pool for people not using the hotel and not a major issue....just kept closing it! The pool is available for free to guests. The room was equipped with TV, Tea and Coffee and important for some these days, free Wifi. The beds were comfortable and bathroom good too. Breakfas in the light and bright restaurant is a help yourself, full cooked breakfast, or lighter options if required. The gentleman who served us drinks and looked after us, we had met before, and was helpful with time to stop and chat....he made you feel welcome. This seems to be a trend at all the Holiday Inns we have used; friendly staff who are there to look after you, and on the odd occasion when we have had a problem, do their level best to resolve it. This is a nice hotel and would recommend it, and commend its staff. January 22, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Having stayed at this hotel before and rating it highly I was disappointed that the room was not ready when I arrived and the food whilst we were there was awful. The swimming pool had to be vacated at 3.45 without warning. On the plus side the reception staff were, as always very polite and friendly , and the bedroom was well equipped with lots of soft towels and adequate toiletries January 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel - but room not 100% clean! Always stayed at this hotel. Unfortunately, the rooms were not cleaned under the beds/sofabeds. Although did not disrupt the enjoyment of the hotel, management should ensure that the cleaners are doing their job. Did not complain as not a big deal. NOTE FOR HOLIDAY INN - One of the 1st things I do when I stay in ANY hotel, is to check underneath the beds/sofas.If too dirty, I would request a room change but on this occasion, there were just a few rubbish pieces. Obviously not cleaned by the cleaners. Otherwise, i enjoyed my stay (as usual!). January 4, 2015
