Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by wireless, dining area the Hotel was comfortable .very clean staff were helpful and courteous ,it would have been much more comfortable if you did not have to go to the lobby to get wireless internet .it is in the hotel so how come not in the hotel rooms ,, Also the dining room was uncomfortable sitting so close to people all in a row. The dining room leaves a lot to be sorted out, so one can eat breakfast with your family and not staring at each other because conversation cannot be private .THESE ARE MY CONCERNS AS TO IF WE WOULD STAY AT THE SAME HOTEL AGAIN December 15, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Very comfortable and clean, friendly helpful staff we had a very comfortable stay. only downside was the crowded breakfast setting due to the party dance floor taking up the space December 14, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience Stayed In Holiday Inn Norwich city for the first time travelling from London. I checked in and requested for an upgrade and I was upgraded to an executive room on the 6th Floor. What a great experience, very friendly staff and effiecient service. December 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Christmas party My second stay within six months and again I can give only praise to all of your staff. I have not heard a single moan or groan from any of my work colleagues only that people had a really great time. The food and service and following entertainment were all excellent. I am looking forward to the summer of next year when hopefully we will be having a boat trip and party the night away in Norwich. I would also like to add further that both visits to Norwich for pleasure rather than work have been superb. The people of Norwich are so friendly it makes it so much easier to relax. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel but ..... Enjoyed the stay in the hotel except for shocking attitude towards blue badge holders. There are plenty of blue badge spaces but they let them fill up with non blue badge holders. Breakfast very average. If you have a room facing the football pitch at this hotel, expect lots of wind noise. December 1, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not that faboulous The bedside tables were dirty and we had to clean them ourselves before feeling comfortable. The bed was wrongly made, we had to redo it. Not that it was that important but as a Priority Club Gold member, i normally get some little extra which was ignored here. Maybe it had to do with us booking through Ryanair but as I showed my card at check-in, they were not flexible to change. We stayed three nights and the prices were nearly simple to double from one night to the next. I still recommend it for its location and the bar but calling it marvellous or fabulous was not the case when we stayed. They also could not help with a plug converter to continental plugs which is normally not an issue in hotels rated 8.8. November 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by another excellent stay this hotel is always excellent. Sadly the rate has been increasing gradually all year and is now outside my budget so no more stays for me. November 21, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Consistently Excellent I travel a lot to Norwich and Norfolk in general for work and often need to be away for 4-5 days at a time. It had always been my intention to sample as many of the counties hotels and inns as possible whenever I did so. However, after my first trip at the Holiday Inn @ Carrow Road I saw no reason to go anywhere else. The Hotel delivers everythng that I need to a very high standard-and consistently so. The rooms are spacious, contemporary and comfortable. The food/drink is excellent, the range of the former having just been expanded. The staff are all friendly and approachable, no matter what the reason, query or, in my case, occasional silly question that I should probably know the answer to! For working its ideal: the restaurant and bar area and immeditely adjacent to it is ideal to meet clients and work whilst having a drink or snack. The broadband signal is strong, indeed, the reception for this in the rooms has been much improved of late: although it would be nice to be wi-fi in the room, rather than having to access a USB cable. For relaxing, again, its ideal. Plenty of space and options within the City are a quick walk away. The Hotel is part of a large chain but has the feel of a privately ran establishment where every customer is made to feel special, welcome and valued. I will return throughout 2013, of that there is no doubt. November 19, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good all round apart from....... Stay here often, like it very much and although the food looks good we cannot bring ourselves to eat in the very bland canteen like restaurant. The tables are too close togather in regimental rows, very unappealing to a couple who wish to have an intimate dinner. We do breakfast occasioally but are in and out in about 10 mins. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel We stayed here for 3 nights in October and found the hotel to be clean and well maintained. The staff are excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always bright and cheerful. The food was very good, nice size portions and nice and hot. Waiting staff and bar staff were very good too. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel. November 5, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyed This is our second stay at the holiday inn in norwich,we enjoyed the hotel as it was all very smart,we stayed in room 512 which was very spacious. The parking was good and we enjoyed a very nice evening meal served by a very pleasant young man.My only concern was at breakfast we asked to eat our meal in lounge as I do like a lot of space around me,the tables were set for breakfast but the man said he had to fill the dining room first as others would want to sit in the lounge as well,I did say I did not like the dining room but he would not give in and gave us a round table by the window,my breakfast was not enjoyable and I thought this man was not very obliging,we love holiday inns and its the first time we have ever met a staff member like him. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable rooms Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, beds were very comfortable and rooms were spacious and clean (There was plenty of room for the travel cot). We paid for breakfast within the price of the room, which turned out to be very reasonable. Would definately recommend this hotel. November 4, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and relaxed atmosphere Met up with friends for weekend. Second year we have stayed here. Comfortable hotel with helpful staff especially at reception. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good business hotel in Norwich I have stayed in this hotel many times on business. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing room ambience Warm reception staff as well as check out team. The ambience of the room enabled good relaxation during my stay. All room supplies were complete. Well done! October 23, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed feelings The staff were friendly and helpful, the room confortable and clean. My first reservation was around the TV facilities, as a deaf person I need subtitles on a TV - this wasn't available. Bot the desk offered and obtained for me a special alarm clock/fire alarm. Thw second was the ironing board collapsed as soon as any weight was put on it. I finished my ironing kneeling of the floor (well it was only a light press of three shirts). I mentioned it at the desk and a new ironing board was delivered - still it could have been dangerous with a hot iron. The third was the food - my first night evening meal was poorly made and unpleasant to taste - and I regret I didn't complain at the time. The buffet breakfast was average, but the menu choice I selected on my last day - Eggs Benedict was nohing like any Eggs Benedict I have eaten before. So really mixed feelings. October 16, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1st Timers Having normally stayed in Duke Street, Norwich, I had to change hotels due to not being able to park my vehicle there, as I was bringing furniture up for my son in a large van. My wife had an offer to stay at the hotel, so we decided to try it. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and I was personally showed where I could park the vehicle. The rooms were very spacious, tidy, clean and the beds comfortable. Also as far as my wife was concerned the room was blacked out during the night, which meant she was able to sleep, which is not always the case in some hotels. The food at breakfast was fresh and hot with service being swift. We will certainly have to re-consider where we now stay the next time we visit Norwich as we would recommend people to stay here.
