Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simmo1 Clean, big room
Check-in was good, very helpful woman, very informative when I asked for directions and local restaurants.
Rooms were big and clean, had a view of the pitch, great if you support Norwich city :)
Only gripes, staff appeared adverse to picking up the phone when dialling internally down to reception. Attempted three times over two days, not once did anyone pick up the phone and it rung out - the final time I walked downstairs straight afterwards and spoke to the reception staff (neither was with anyone?!) The phone rung when I was there and both just left it - enquired whether they wanted to answer and they said it's ok -- bizarre?!
The other point, was had to get up early to do some work, wireless didn't work at 0530 in the morning, looked like it was switched off asked at reception - woman had no idea. Pleasant enough people though :) thanks - Would stay again

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Michelle121 Would book here again
We stayed on a Friday night and were given a room overlooking the pitch.
Hotel was clean, had great decor and friendly staff.
The reward club treats were appreciated.
Breakfast was good, only very small negative was the small tea pots.
I would book to stay here again.

Booked online well in advance for our third stay here. Got a bonus of a fantastic pitch view for two nights and breakfast. Didn't disappoint as usual, the staff were great. The only thing I'd like is free wi-if in the room rather than just the lobby.

All round comfort, very good. On match day so a lively atmosphere too. Breakfast very busy; was the hotel short staffed?

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Colin56 Good room, pity about the food
This is a good hotel let down by the kitchen department. My room was spacious, well appointed and good value. The car park is adjacent - although not easy to locate on a dark night - some illuminated signs would be a good idea. The additional charge of £4.95 left a sour taste in the mouth. However, the food is not great: spatchcock chicken was dry and tasteless - and the bird itself decidedly undernourished, so not a lot to eat. The coleslaw accompaniment was tiny - mean to the point of miserliness. Breakfast was not much better - two poached eggs came hard rather than runny. Toast had to go through the machine twice. My recommendation - stagy here by a lll means, but arrive in time to eat elsewhere!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hugh123 Surprisingly good for a 'chain' hotel!
Staying here was an exceptionally easy experience from the moment I checked in. A parking space right outside the main entrance; speedy check-in; an efficient lift whisking me to room 512 on the 5th floor. A good size room benefitting from the wedge shape of the curve in the building, so lots of space..... and incredibly quiet. But the breakfast was the absolute highlight - well cooked, excellent selection, and eat as much as you like. The pre-paid £10 charge for breakfast was incredible value. I really can't fault this hotel in any way.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DBoy101 Good location…Norwich
Great breakfast staff very helpful room had very good view of football pitch we watched the youth game from our bedroom window. Didn't read the hotel info properly - thought it had a pool but it didn't. While there was access to the leisure centre across the road the timings for children swimming were restrictive and it was not as relaxing as using a hotel pool i.e. swim before breakfast. As such, I personally felt that the hotel felt expensive even though it was clean and functional. Internal space felt small and the lounging around areas not extensive. Dare I say it had a holiday inn express feel to it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Haze13 Everthing was excellent!
The hotel was excellent. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Although there was a very large party already dining, service was still quick and the quality of food was great. Would definitely stay here again if we need accomodation in Norwich.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bubbles120 No to the executive room
We had an executive suit but I would not do this next time as it was pointless the extra room had table and chairs which where fine. A settee was very un comfy. The TV was in the bed room.
The bedroom was very nice, the bar and staff was very nice.
We thought £20 for breakfast was a bit much when you have a supermarket a cross the road.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Roka One Of The Best Holiday Inns
Stayed overnight on a Saturday in Sep 2013. Had a reasonable view of the football pitch from our 1st floor room (there was no match on this w/e), but recommend 4th floor or higher if you are booking and watch to watch a game. Do request this view if that's what you need, think they add a £50 tariff on match days tho.
Room was large and well equipped for our needs. Bathrooms similarly new looking and tidy, although the shower hose was not up to standard and basically trickled out - we reported this problem to reception staff.
Book 21 days or more before you intend going and look out for deals where breakfast is included, will save you £15 each! Breakfast was well stocked and plenty of it! Suitable for any and all tastes.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, well done to them.
Additional note re Norwich, allow ONE HOUR for taxi bookings during busy periods, especially night time!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mnmember No Hot water
During my stay I reported an issue with no hot water. They said this was the ONLYroom - I didn't believe this. I come to find out the next morning it was not just me.
I told the receptionist of the problem on checking out - she promised a call from their manager, this was Thursday and after 4 days nothing.
No point having a great hotel if the basics don't work and they do not follow up issues.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by BusinessTravel1990 No WiFi? Really?
Really?!? No WiFi in the rooms? Poor WiFi in the Lobby? Paid ethernet connection in your room.... that incidentally will not connect to Windows 7 Enterprise.
The hotel is fine. The food is fine. The people really were very nice. The location is quite convenient. So without the circumstance of required business travel the hotel would be nearly fine. In this day and age the lack of a WiFi signal is contemptuous enough. To ask for payment to use a wired connection is just plain insulting. Please enter the 21st century with the rest of us. Even non business travelers are are equipped with a smart phone or tablet that would use a WiFi signal.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by travelling3 Brilliant view of football ground
A one night stay so not a thorough review. Didn't have breakfast nor room service so can't comment on food. My room overlooked Carrow Road, home ground of the Canaries - such a pity they were playing away!! I found the staff I spoke to very friendly and willing to help - loads of smiles, too. The only downside - which I'm sure would have been dealt with immediately had I asked for help - was that I found the air-conditioning/heating panel difficult to work as I couldn't see any instructions. Other hotels in which I've stayed have them situated just above the panel. There's a big supermarket and a parade of shops within a couple of minutes walk and the city centre can be walked to within 15 minutes. Would most definitely stay here again.

On arrival Friday afternoon I found a efficient reception and within 10 minutes I was in my room. During my stay the staff where efficient, professional and helpful beyond expectations. The food was very good, I had a steak well done and it was juicy and the right texture. the room staff where very efficient and the room comfortable and clean.
I will recommend Holiday Inn in Norwich to anybody I meet.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Good place where stay
I have been into Norwich Holiday Inn a lot of time for business purpose.
Good hotel, great stuff, good food. Very close to the Riverside entertainement place where you can find restourants, bars, bowling and cinemas. It's also close to the train station and during the weekend from some rooms you can watch Premier League matches of Norwich City FC.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sue294 Another great stay !
My husband and I are football fans and discovered this great hotel last season - we couldn't wait for this season's fixture so that we could return ! We appreciate the
friendly staff , the extremely comfortable rooms ,the huge range of breakfast items to choose from and the lively bar . We also cannot fault this hotel's location - just a short walk into the city with all it has to offer , and of course its location adjacent to the Stadium - last year it was snowing and we were so grateful for the short walk to our seats. We hope to return next year .

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by VT12 Efficient, boring, business hotel
The typical boring, just outside downtown, strategic but dull location, looking the same everywhere type of hotel, i.e. a very suitable accommodation for my 2 day business trip for which I just needed a place to sleep, do some work, and have breakfast.
Breakfast ... well, fine for UK standards but below par anywhere else. Another disappointment has been lack of wireless internet in the room (free access in lobby & restaurant). In particular such a typical mid-level business hotel should have - and usually does have - wireless internet access.
Staff was very friendly, professional and efficient, and room was spacious, clean and modern.
I would certainly stay at the hotel again for short business trips, but for longer stays or with family, this is not the place to go.

Once again an excellent stay, Alban & Jonny in the restaurant, what a great welcome from them and great service all week for me, and my colleagues. Food choice and quailty is excellent, I recommend the Chefs Homemade Menu, quality food, at decent prices.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nickname13 I would not chose any other hotel in Norwich
As a returning visitor of the hotel, I love the fact that the staff is friendly and efficient when checking in or out. They are a call away to help you out whether it is the fridge, tv or internet or something else is your issue. The location is pro as it is close to the football station, to cinema, gym, but it is a con as well as a bit of walk from the train station and not on the nicest and luggage friendly roads. However there is parking opportunity too.
TV channels are very limited, missing the UK freeview channels - especially as they are free. Unfortunately rooms are still limited to wired connection to the internet, however they are working on having wifi from next year (2014) in the rooms, the lobby however has free wifi for all visitors.
Even though it is not a cheap place to stay but it is safe, friendly and very comfortable - recommend wholeheartedly.
