Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast The breakfast was very poor and disappointing, the eggs was under cooked the white of the egg was translucent around the yolk and was not pleasant at all. The sausage had no flavour if was bland the only taste was of bread or rusk. Overall the cooked breakfast and the continental breakfast the selection was very poor also. April 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff couldn't be more helpful Little surprised at how dated and small the room was compared to other Holiday Inn hotels stayed in. However didn't spoil our stay, was a pleasant 3 nights. April 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reasonably Good Place to Stay Overall experience is good. One issue I had concerning the executive room - compared with other Executive room's I've stayed in other Holiday Inn's this one was particularly cramped and did not have a sofa and coffee table. It appears by passing other rooms, some of the executive rooms have them some don't at this one. I must admit to being annoyed at this. Good amen ties, good pool and gym. Restaurant menu was a bit limited but good breakfast. Room was clean, although bathroom was cramped. However, it had all the items required of an executive room. Excellent massive tv and entertainment system, good desk space etc. Food was good to average, excellent room service I might add. Staff were friendly although found the main desk to be apathetic. Good value stay would recommend it, but not the best Holiday Inn I've stayed at in UK. March 30, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nearly American standard but not quite 1) I resent having to pay in advance. My credit card is perfectly good. In the States I would never have to pay in advance 2) How come you don't have conditioner in the rooms ? Every American hotel does. Cannot believe you are saving that much. Who does not take shampoo with them but does take conditioner ? At least make it available at the desk. 3) Food at 10 pounds a head for breakfast is frankly not that good a bargain. And please get rid of the rubber scrambled eggs. Akron may be interested. 4) Staff were delightful and very helpful. Whatever you are doing in that department - keep doing it. And please tell them I said so. 5) Going back to value, compared with US hotels the rooms are small. 6) Taps on the bath are a little awkward - you might want to think about posting some simple instructions. 7) No-one does powdered coffee in the room anymore. There are really cheap massproduced coffee machines which use real coffee in bags. Powdered coffee is really low rent and lowers the image of the establishment. 8) Did not have the opportunity to use the gym and pool but it looks good These comments are intended to be helpful. I hope to have the opportunity to stay at your hotel again in the future. March 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Service Staff were very freindly, helpful and excellent with my children, The room i was given was exceptional and clean and very spacious.. Thank you James March 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by room Good clean, comfortable room, could do with more pillows, we stayed on a very cold day and the room and hotel was lovely and warm. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice March 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, great food and service. We chose this hotel as it is not far from the University of East Anglia where our daughter is studying. Easy to find and very convenient for Norwich City Centre. We will definitely be coming again. Thank you. March 16, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Staff that don't understand "Quiet Room" request! Reserved through priority club yet had to prove I was a member on arrival. When I gave my number, duty manager did not believe the number was genuine! When he eventually was able to verify the number he apologised. When I reserved the room I requested a quiet room. I was put next to a main road! Complained...... and put next to another main road...... Sheer incompetence. The second room also only had a three quarter double bed, as I was with my wife this was a real problem but we were tight on time so just made do. Wish we had been late for our appointment and changed rooms again as worse night sleep I have ever had in a hotel in a long time. Holiday Inn - do you train your staff? These people were incompetent to say the least. They did not even understand a quiet room request. I have to return to Norwich a few times but will not consider this specific hotel again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We wouldn't stay anywhere else! The Holiday Inn Norwich is a favourite hotel, with lovely staff and great rooms. Thank you for looking after us so well. March 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor & Expensive Food The food is a rip off, poor quality, had two decent meals out of around 20....good beer choice however. If the food was better....(much better) ...and internet was cheaper this hotel would be booming all the time. March 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by STAFF ARE GREAT We love staying here, Richie and staff take really good care of you. Rooms are nice, very clean, food gets better every time we visit. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. , March 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong payment system..... Having made this booking, and had a paper confirmation, to use a mix of points and cash, I was more than a little put out to be told that I was paying with just points! The member of staff on duty was not able to calculate the points/cash rate, and because I was needing to get on the road fairly quickly, I had to accept the full points rate....I am more than a little peeved as I had been saving my points for a further stay! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very homely stay for a chain hotel! The staff at this hotel made it feel like staying at a friendly B&B rather than an anonymous chain hotel. They remembered my room number without having to ask, they remembered when I needed a taxi booked for, they also fetched me a takeaway cup when I was rushing to drink my breakfast tea. Highly recommended. February 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely room A very clean and comfortable hotel room. It had everything you needed to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. February 8, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely staff make this Hotel very welcoming Very comfortable bed & good room amenities. Nice relaxed atmosphere throughout hotel and leisure facility. Staff very helpful & friendly which lifts this hotel above others. Restaurant/Bar staff particularly deserve recognition. Thank you!! February 6, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff - Nice relaxing base for a few days Have stayed here many times for family visits to Norwich. Staff are always friendly and leisure centre is good. This hotel is one of the good Holiday Inns in my view. January 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Corporate Restaurant Menu Again! Nice hotel, nice staff, but unfortunately the same HI Corporate Restaurant Menu Again! This may not be the hotels fault, but I have to say the corporate menu choices are pretty poor and dissappointing. I'm sure the chef is very well qualified and skilled so why don't you give him the opportunity to show us what he can do and let him create his own menu, or at least create some 'daily specials' January 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely short break We have been to this hotel on several occasions and we are never disappointed. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and the leisure club is sheer bliss. The breakfast is good despite being a buffet which genarally I am not keen on. It is in a good location for visiting my family and for the park and ride into the city centre. My one complaint would be that the sofa bed that my son slept on was not very comfortable he commented that a mattress topper would have made the break perfect! We will definitely be back!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First class amenities I booked this hotel to stay over New years eve.The staff are very helpful. Food was first class and not overpriced like some hotels we have stayed in.Our room was downstairs and was a bit afraid about noise levels from guests in upstair rooms, but never heard a thing. Beds are massive and very comfortable. But the best part of our stay was the leasure facilities. The pool area and all the facilities were spotless,we were really able to relax and unwind.I would definatley use this hotel again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent in parts. Overall, this was probably the best Holiday Inn we have used over the years with very comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful receptionists. Sadly we had a very poor breakfast experience on the Saturday of our stay when we were made to stand like dummies for several minutes at the entrance before a rather diffident waitress eventually took us to a table. We were then confronted with nasty, powdery scrambled eggs, and bacon which had the consistency and taste of leather. Sunday's breakfast was altogether different and we were immediately met by a very courteous gentleman and quality hot fare. We could hardly believe we were in the same place and can only think that the chef and his staff had a very bad day on Saturday. You let yourselves down badly in the one detail which, sadly, is what will probably stick in our memories after the all the exceptional parts are forgotten. Shame. Finally it would be huge step forward if Holiday Inn could at last come to the conclusion of most other quality hotels and stop charging ridiculous fees for the use of their wifi! January 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Between Xmas and New Year 2012 Not used a Holiday Inn for a few years and I was unsure what this would be like. however we were pleasantly surprised at the chosen one! The room was clean and attractive and everything worked! Bed was comfortable too which is not always easy for me as I do suffer with lower back pain. pity no nibbles in the room but as we have eaten so much for Xmas probably a good thing. However as we were eating later I did go to the bar for some snacks- possibly the choice for nibbles could be larger? Didn't have an evening meal here as we were being treated to a meal out but breakfast was ok- eggs not too bad. One point to make - as I have to be gluten free- along with others I would expect- possibly having something to choose from as an alternative to bread could be possible? Frozen sliced gluten free bread isn't difficult to quickly toast! Also a larger variety of fruit salads- but I do like my fruit- others might think it was adequate. January 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel, friendly staff - Loved the hotel, furnished to a high standard. Bed was a little soft for my taste but that's nothing more than my personal preference - Staff: friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. 10/10 - Free bottle of wine given to me on check in. I fear my reputation precedes me :) - Only drawback: £16 for 24h wi-fi is very difficult to justify December 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent, friendly service I have been using this hotel for business trips for the last few months, each stay has been wonderful, from the welcome at reception, great food in the resturant and comfortable clean rooms. Fitness suite is also good as well, which I make regular use of. Can recommend this hotel - they are vey accommodating. December 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal for an overnight stay We used the hotel as we were out on the town in Norwich on a Friday evening and obviously didn't want to drive home. The added bonus was being able to check in after work and make use of the leisure facilities before going out. We have done this on a couple of occasions and each time we have had a really nice room. The staff are very good and the hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere. We also enjoyed a good breakfast. We will no doubt spoill ourselves here again December 4, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Recent stay (Nov 2012) Initial welcome from reception was very good - was told they had my Priority Club number already, friendly and helpful. We went for a bar meal - ordered from the very unfriendly bar attendant who seemed to not want to be working (of course he may had already been working for 8 hrs or whatever). Food came out but colleagues food was terrible- he complained and initial reaction was "what was wrong" as the staff looked at the horrible meal. My burger was average and not very warm but acceptable. Colleagues food was redone and was only acceptable - plus point is we got a couple of free drinks and he didnt have to pay for his meal. We have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in the local area and will be going back to it instead of this one. I forgot I had been to this hotel years ago and the same thing happened (had to complain about the food). We didnt eat at the hotel again but when to the very nice pub a few hundred yards away - very nice there and friendly. November 27, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very comfortable room Wonderful welcome and friendly staff through out our stay. very clean and comfortable rooms. Huge bath towels supplied which makes such a nice change to other hotels. Highly recommend this hotel November 3, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by When things go wrong My thanks for acknowledging things went wrong and for the the way it was put right. October 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HI Norwich I stayed here during a recent mixed business/leisure trip with my Wife and 2 year old child. The room was a good size and accomodated the three of us comfortable although it would have been better to have a slightly more accesible room (a few too many stairs with a child). I was a little disappointed to find that the pool was closed for refurbishment when we arrived and pointed out to the staff that this was not advertised at the time of booking. The staff were helpful with arranging an alternative at no cost to me. It was the the staff that really stood out here. Even though half of the stay was on PC points we were never treated as anything less than paying guests. Nothing was ever any bother, especially with a young child. They were friendly but also professional at all times. There are a number of hotels out there that could learn some vauable lessons on how to treat cutomers from these guys. Highly recommended!
