Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to the usual standards I stay at this hotel at least once a month - but on this occasion things were simply not good. Running out of something happens - being made to wait 20 minutes for it then to be told they don't have it is not. This wasn't the only issue - and they seem to have run out of most things. The service was also unusually poor - with long delays, wrong orders being delivered and the basics you would expect from a hotel of this class were simply missing. This was a business trip and meeting with colleagues and business contacts was embarrassing due to the poor service on this trip - reflects badly on my business. I hope this was a one off and things will get better - I will give them another chance, but if this is the standard they are now offering I would have to make an alternative choice. October 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very clean room, very good breakfast I was made very welcome by the reception staff. The room was very clean and comfortable with a selection of pillows. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room (could have done with more milk) Room temperature was good, it was great to be able to get fresh air in the room by opening the window- you'd be surprised how many hotels it's impossible to open windows in rooms. Very comfortable bed. Good toiletries in the bathroom- lovely hot powerful shower. Staff at breakfast were lovely and very accommodating. I asked for gluten free bread which was provided with no fuss and was delicious. Cooked breakfast was very nice- would have liked more fruit on offer. For the price- very good value for money- would definitely stay again Thank you October 17, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This hotel fails to meet the basic standards I booked this hotel as I thought it was "NEW" as that is what was listed on the website. It turns out that whilst the hotel is "NEW" to having a Holiday Inn badge it is actually an old hotel with only the ground floor close to Holiday Inn standards. The hotel have only conversed the rooms on the ground floor, so if live me you don't like ground floor rooms then the only choice you have is to go on the first floor. The first floor rooms are tatty, the sink is outside the bathroom and the rooms have an oder of a very old room. I was forced to stay on the ground floor as it was the only rooms suitable. Sadly the room standards did not meet my expectations, I opened a cupboard and found a bag of pot noodles and 2 other bags of rubbish, the surfaces looked like they had not been cleaned for some time and the bed linen was not crisp and felt like the bed had not been changed from the last guest. I had to clean the room surfaces myself. I attempted to address the issues with the hotel but all I got was " all I can say is sorry" after hearing that several times I got the feeling that this is normal for this hotel. Being on the ground floor I could not open the window overnight as the window so wide that it would allow anyone to climb into my room in the middle of the night, as a result of that I have no option but to sleep in a stuffy room. I had hoped that breakfast would be much better, being vegetarian I am limited on what i can eat, that selection was drastically reduced then I seen an employee picking up the tongs used on meat and tidying all the meat and non meat items with the same tongs. indiscriminately touching all food items. I was also concerned at the fact that despite it being 9am the mushrooms, tomatos and hash browns had been dried out and rather than taking dried out of old food away they simply pushed it aside and then added the fresh food in with it. I could now see why food had dried out. I would not revisit this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone. October 14, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Rooms and Comfortable We stayed just one night in the hotel. The room we had was very nice and clean and was well stocked with coffee and tea. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The room was really quiet and dark thanks to the wood shutters. TV channel choice was excellent! We ate dinner in the restaurant and were very very satisfied with our meal. The food was great and so was the service! September 29, 2014
