Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An unexpected little gem, reaches beyond 'business hotel' Stayed here for two nights on a rushed family trip. Green, welcoming, pleasant, decent little restaurant and somewhat above what I expected for a business hotel. Nicely located just off Castle Boulevard, pleasant green environment with alternative eateries and a nice canal towpath walk into Nottingham. For us, the jewels were the staff. From front of house to the pleasant and courteous cleaners, they couldn't do enough for us. We embarrassingly overslept due to jetlag - Phillippa, Thomas, James, Joe and Duane went well out of their way with cheerful courtesy despite having other duties to do. We saw most of them still there the next evening, sharp and polite as ever despite a long shift! I hope such good human capital is encouraged appropriately. This has won us off potentially cheaper alternative providers. Certainly the place to come for a summer long weekend in Nottingham. July 27, 2014

This Holiday Inn does all things you would expect, but with the added bonus of several alternative restaurants just a stone's throw away. With the City Centre shops, canalside stroll, and Trent Bridge cricket ground all within walking distance, Holiday Inn provided the ideal base for our weekend of cricket and shopping. July 16, 2014

Hotel provided everything I needed for a short stay - good sized room in excellent condition with a comfortable bed and well maintained bathroom. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Staff are attentive and polite. Second time I have stayed here. If I travel to Nottingham, this is where I'll stay. July 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfotable room and good breakfast Stayed for 2 nights in July 2014 with 2 sons whilst attending Canoe sprint regatta at National Watersports Centre. Hotel friendly and as expected of budget hotel - Comfortable room, good shower, ample free parking and good breakfast. Fairly convenient for NWSC (10 mins by car), and plenty of eating places nearby. Only slight issue in the quad room was that pull-out sofa bed not up to much but bearable. July 10, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Still my favourite hotel in Nottingham I returned to the Holiday Inn recently, after having stayed there for ther best part of 9 months on assignment a couple of years ago. I was pleased to see the familiar, friendly faces I saw back when I was resident, and even more pleased that they remembered me! The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable - and with the benefit of being slightly outrside the city centre, it's very quiet. There's also plenty of free - yes, free - parking! I didn't eat at the restaurant on this occasion, but I ate there pretty much every other day when I was on assignment, and the food is very tasty - I'd highly recommend the Fish and Chips! I've stayed at most of the hotels in Nottingham at some point, and this is still my favourite. July 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Birthday I used reward nights for interconnecting rooms for myself, my sister and my daughter to celebrate my daughter's 50th birthday. The staff were friendly and very helpful. They put up the banners I brought and also put a birthday card in my daughter's room, which was a surprise. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and were looked after very well, with Stephen the waiter, bringing out the birthday cake I had taken. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I put average sleep quality because I do not sleep very well wherever I am. All in all we had a great time July 2, 2014

I called the day before and asked if it would be possible to check in early, so that we didn't have to travel in our wedding outfits. The gentleman was very courteous and said that would be possible. When we got to Nottingham we got a little lost and called the Hotel, we were directed in by the lady on reception and given a warm welcome when we finally arrived. July 2, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel but let down by the staff this time Having stayed at this hotel before I wanted to pick it again the next time I was in Nottingham, however my experiences this time were very different. Upon check in I have my name and reservation details and was asked to swipe my card, I said I have a room allowance as part of the booking through capita and won't be going over, I was told I would need to so I agreed until I saw the guy was trying to charge me £5 for a pre authorisation, every other holiday inn I have staid at it has been £1, so I refused and had to wait for the rest of the check in, upon wich I was told my room and handed my key, no direction of where my room was, I was just expected to guess, the rooms were lovely as always and the gym was more than adequate for a quick workout, I headed to the restaurant, it wasn't particularly busy and there were 3 staff on but it still took a while waiting to be acknowledged and eventually shown to a table, I ordered a drink and was left to choose. Having chosen there was then a lengthy wait for someone to take my order, this eventually happened, I then had to chase my drink as it hadn't arrived, the food was lovely but I would have liked to order another drink but the waiting staff were more interested in each other than serving the half dozen or so tables. After finishing my meal and waiting 20 minutes to try and pay I ended up just standing by the till in the hopes someone would get the bill. I had a great nights sleep and the room was spotless it's just a shame on this occasion the experience was let down by very poor service. I would stay at this hotel again but next time I will try somewhere else rather than this being first choice. July 1, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean room, poor breakfast, good parking There were problems booking as they confirmed the booking then required a re-book with a different credit card. There was nothing wrong with the first card. The car park is good, plenty of space and reasonably secure. They took £25 from my card for extras I did not buy and then took 4 days to refund the money. The room was clean and comfortable but the toilet seat was loose. The breakfast was poor; cold bacon and dried-out sausages. June 26, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First class experience Having stayed many times at this hotel in the past ten years, this was probably one of the best as everything seemed to run very smoothly. Our visit to Nottingham was in order to visit family and friends so we didn't use too many of the facilities such as the bar or leisure facility although we have in the past. Our check-in was very smooth and problem free and the receptionists were really friendly and welcoming. Also the restaurant staff, several of whom we have got to know by first names, were excellent as usual particularly Diane and her daughter Emma. At the ens of our short stay we felt sad at leaving and are looking forward to our next stay later in the year. June 19, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Freindly staff and confortable service This Hotel is very good value and has an extremely nice staff and always is a most comfortable stay. We have stayed here many times now and after staying in all the other Hotels in Nottingham we found this to be the best and most value for money. The only negative comment is the room air conditioning needs updating as can be very noisy otherwise it is always a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend anyone visiting Nottingham to stay here. Would probably have dined in the hotel but unfortunately a new carpet was being fitted in the dining. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value Modern Hotel This was a very brief first stay at this hotel. I arrived late and left early the next morning. However, I was very impressed. It is a modern hotel, very inviting common areas such as Reception and Bar and the room was very comfortable. Best night's sleep in an hotel for some time. I enjoyed my stay and will use again when I am in this area. Highly recommended. May 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Avoid the 3rd floor Airconditioning plant is noisy I booked the 3 rooms whilst working in the area however the Airconditioning plant in the roof area above the rooms started up and stopped all through the night. I didn't get any sleep from 2am. Three rooms with a guy in each and only one of us slept. At checkout the reception desk knew the issue before I even spoke. Their response was a refund of one breakfast. If I hadn't have been so tired, with a long day ahead of me, I'd have argued harder for a refund. Another chain hotel is next door; they have a good nights sleep guarantee. Or...when booking, make a phone call rather than book via an app or online to make sure you are not in a room near the noisy equipment. All other facilities were good, I just required sleep to function properly the next day. May 19, 2014
