I want to personally thank Chelsea for her outstanding customer service when I found myself having to stay at this hotel this evening because of car trouble. She also assured me she would be available first thing in the morning and I should see her if I needed any further assistance. To make a long story short she allowed me to stay past my check out time so I could deal with my car issues without having my wife and my children hang around lobby until my car was fixed.
Chelsea your the best and thank you for your,
Great customer service

The hotel was perfect. I wish we had arrived earlier so we had time to use the pool or gym. We did stop in the lounge for a drink which was relaxing. I would definitely stay here again.

I look forward to each visit in Oneonta because of the time I spend at The Holiday Inn. My last visit was as I have come to expect and enjoy. Great staff, especially Chris at the front desk. Something new was the 24hr. coffee and tea. That was a real nice surprise.

The property was conveniently located to downtown and close to RT 88. Short drive to Cooperstown. The bathroom could use some updating. Decent value.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Momma92 No elevator, mainly double beds
First was upset that there is no elevator, and when booking the hotel, no staff found it necessary to inform me ahead of time. During check in, when they said our room was on the second floor, that s when they chose to tell us, but it was too late, as there now was nothing available on the first floor. I would NEVER had booked at the hotel if I knew there was no elevator OR if I had not been promised a first floor room. This is due to serious knee problems. Front dest said there were only double beds available. Sometimes they have queen or king size, but that is at least $30 extra. Other hotels in the area charge the same price for a room with either 2 queens or 1 king. Most hotels now don't have double beds anymore, which are clearly not very comfortable for two people to sleep in.
The price was pretty steep per night, and pretty far from SUNY Oneonta. Not. Very convenient. But I have read other reviews since, and it seems like it may be a better locstion for Cooperstown. They offered 24 hr tea or coffee, but had no selection of tee's and only powdered cream for coffee, as opposed to other hotels that have a vast selection of teas with liquid flavored cream and usually hot chocolate and fresh fruit and even some fresh baked cookies. The tv froze on a regular basis, making it very frustrating to watch anything! The front desk staff, were friendly enough, but ultimately couldn't help or change a difficult situation. In general, I would stay at several other hotels in oneonta before this holiday inn, due to location, double beds and NO elevator.

Have been there a few times already since my child goes to Oneonta. Always been on the second floor wish there was an elevator and the water pressure and shower head not so good. Otherwise it was worth the money.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Great Location!
We were in town for a baseball tourn. at All Star Village which is about 10 min. away. The pool/picnic area was terrific as were the staff. The rooms could use an upgrade as they were a bit smelly & musty. Cooperstown is a 30 min. drive, everything else is on the strip just min. from the hotel, fast food, shopping ,gas ,bar/rest., walmart, ice cream etc.

Felt as though the front desk staff was under trained. Was not greeted as a Platinum Elite member, as well as was not offered any upgrades. I realize it was full, and maybe non were available. I enjoyed the amenity of a refridgerator, but the temp. control knob was broke and stuck on high, so everything froze.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Travelingthro Glad we chose it
We picked up a book of hotel coupons at a rest area and this one sounded best for our needs of a quick stay enroute. Desk staff very friendly and helpful. No problem with coupon. Appreciated coffee maker, microwave, and fridge in room since breakfast wasn't included (although there is an on site restaurant, we were going simple and fast). We realized how nice this was when we stayed at another hotel that didn't have these the next night. We only relaxed in room so don't know about amenities, but it was quiet even though we noticed a charter bus stayed that night, too. I like that the bedspreads were white with cloth protectors for the foot of bed. Could see it was clean. Husband thought bed was hard, but ok for me. Walmart and shopping nearby made it easy to pick up stuff we forgot to pack and be on our way in the morning.I would stay there again.

Room was only fair. Restaurant was horrible. We were greeted by the bartender who replied when my husband asked "How are you today?" by "I'm tired and I really wish I didn't have to be here." We ordered drinks and got them ten minutes later. She finally brought us menus and a waiter arrived to take our order. There were 5 people in the bar and no one in the restraurant. It took 25 minutes to get our sandwiches! The food was horrible!

My only comment would be to put more accessible outlets in the room. There is only one outlet on the lamp on the desk. Business traveling are plugging in all their electronics when they get to a hotel. We don't want to run into the bathroom to answer our phones.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by C172pilot Disappointed breakfast not complimentary
At every other Holiday Inn I've stayed in they've had a complimentary hot breakfast and the room rate was a lot less. Guess with a full restaurant, they felt they could charge for breakfast. For the rates paid, could have easily had the breakfast buffet complimentary. Did get a voucher for 1 breakfast but stayed for more than 1 night and had 2 persons in the room. Instead our group of 10 went down the street to the diner where we could have a wider choice and for less. Stayed at other national brand hotels at almost a third of the the price of this hotel and had a complimentary hot buffet breakfast. Would not have stayed here other than other family members had already booked rooms here.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ddffplt TV needed to be fixed
Only stayed one night and didn't use many amenities. Clean and quiet hotel and area. Did have a problem with the TV as the voice kept cutting out and then finally the picture cut out. Called the front desk and someone came up in about 15 mins. to reprogram the TV. Told me that he had just come from another room with the same problem. Unfortunately the problem with the TV persisted about an hour after it was reprogrammed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GEMAC Comfortable
Overall, we enjoyed the peace and comfort of a property with everything we've come to expect from Holiday Inn; however, the little things still bothered us. For instance, the coffee/tea stand is only equipped during certain hours. Really? You can't keep hot water readily available? When trying to access one of the side doors from the parking lot, we found that the key card readers were temperamental. One didn't work at all, another worked inconsistently. The "game room" was, for all intents and purposes, a big empty play room for children. It was neither inviting to look at nor equipped to satisfy...definitely needs some attention.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by chrisn Wake up knock
My 2 night stay overall was very nice except on the second morning house keeping decided to give a wake up nock at 8:15AM. I work at night and sleep in in the morning for the next nights work. When I told the man at the front desk I was not satisfied with my second nights stay all he had to say was sorry. I stay at hotels 100+ days per year and one thing I can not tolerate is the wake up nock or the keys against the door wake up. check out is usually 11:00AM and don't expect a nock till al least 10:00AM. Satisfaction guarantee means exactly that and I didn't expect to pay for the second nights stay.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Chilly1 No elevator
I stayed at this hotel because of it's proximity to Cooperstown. It's about 30 miles away and is less expensive than the Cooperstown hotels. However, it's still relatively expensive for a Holdiay Inn. Upon arrival I was booked into a room on the second floor and was told there is no elevator in the building. I had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. Upon entering my room a dog started barking in the adjoining room. Later on I saw three more large dogs on the property. I have nothing against dogs, I do like them, but if you have an allergy, this is probably not a place for you to stay. Between the dogs and no elevator, I'd look for somewhere else to stay next time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jb19 Knock knock, housekeeping
There has got to be a better way then to hear someone banging on doors at 8 am shouting HOUSEKEEPING, then banging on my door to totally wake me up when I am trying to get some sleep for that long drive ahead of me that day. Maybe we should go back to dropping keys at the front desk, a minor inconvenience on your way out so as not to disturb other guests

Decent Hotel as there is not much in the Cooperstown area. Room was ok but hated the smaller sized pillows - you couldn't even roll around on them comfortably.
Also, an ad for Sal's pizza to feed a large group was a flop. They delivered to the hotel these rectangle family sized pizzas that were sooo paper thin, you couldn't even put it up to your mouth without it folding over. You couldn't actually SEE a crust - it was missing! Pizzas, sodas, wings were a good value package but food was atrocious. Stay away from this AD!
Breakfast buffet the next day was just ok - decent selection of food but the eggs were way too dry. Give them credit though for a Make Your Own Waffle area - nice touch. Service was very good at their restaurant.
So Overall, a decent, fairly clean hotel but if you could find someplace better locally, you should try.

We stayed at this property while we were on our "Hall of Fame" tour which included the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Football Hall of Fame, Baseball Hall of Fame, Basketball Hall of Fame, and Tennis Hall of Fame. We had such fun in the bar at this property; we are Phillies fans and met some folks who live just outside Philadelphia. We only went there for a glass of wine and wound up staying until last call! The bartender was so friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. We highly recommend this property!

I stay at Holiday Inns when traveling for work, so at this point I've seen a fair share of them. This one was one of the poorer properties based on looks and is need of a makeover. While the hotel was clean, it's not consistent with other hotels(Holiday Inn, Express, or any IHG) in terms of quality.
The location was fine, parking was good, I didn't try the restaurant, but I did notice they bring in comedy acts which is a nice bonus if you're in need of entertainment.
Overall not a bad place to stay, but the price didn't really reflect the quality of the property. I assume this is in part due to the limited number of hotels in the area.

I stay at the Holiday Inns a lot because I travel a lot and I really like their hotels. I was a little disapointed in this one for a couple of reasons. I was on the second floor and there was no elevators and therefore I had to carry my heavy suitcase up the stairs, luckily a nice man saw my coming down with it and carried it down for me. The bathroom was a decent size accept that I struggled to get around the toilet while getting in and out of the shower. The breakfast was free and that was nice and a good thing because it was not that well prepared. I can say the staff was awesome, from the desk staff to the maintenence men. They were supper nice and made me feel very invited. I would still reccomend people stay at this Holiday Inn because it is a nice hotel, just a few quirks!
