Good clean hotel to stay while visiting family. Very clean, friendly check in staff ready to take care of you. Good location, not too big, breakfast was ok. Really good coffee in the machine. Better than Starbucks to me. Even had coffee in the afternoons which I normally do not do. Good stay.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by R3Soccer Stayed for Sports - will NEVER return.
Our team was given a choice of several hotels in the area for the prestigous R3 Presidents Cup Soccer Tournament.
First of all booking the rooms was a pain, I had to call 3 times to clarify my room dates and how many people in my room. The rate was EXTREMELY high for a Holiday Inn group rate and "included" breakfast was an argument for our hotel coordinator. Finally after much debate our team was provided watery eggs, sausage, biscuits and hash browns for several days. What happened to continental buffet? Fruit, yogurt, bagels, cereal or waffles? No variety and not a very good selection to feed soccer players before intense heat and exercise.
Due to rain/lightning and ridiculous field conditions all games were cancelled. Another team was also staying with us at the hotel. It was the request of both teams to use the conference area in which we had breakfast to allow the kids to watch the USA soccer match aired that evening. Mind you there were a total of 34 sixteen year olds with nothing to do now. Our request was denied and we were told we had to rent the room and spend $100 to rent a TV. So, sorry to other patrons at the hotel but 34 kids were then roaming the halls.
Our room was not cleaned at all on the first day. We found a large cockroach and a spider in it. The drain in the bathroom tub was slow to work so each time you showered you also enjoyed a nasty bath at the same time.
The only person who provided stand out service was Ms. Melissa in the breakfast area. I felt so bad for her, they were given no direction on how to handle breakfast and had little to no help the first few days. She did it with a smile and refilled drinks and silverware quickly. Please congratulate her and promote her.
This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a group at Holiday Inn and especially with how expensive the rate was. I feel our group should be refunded a portion of the room rate for the horrible service we received.

We were in town to watch one of our thoroughbreds race at Evangeline Downs.. This hotel was very convenient to the track. If you are there for racing ask for the Horsemen's rate.Nice indoor pool. Wish they had a free continental breakfast but that is not included here. Did not use their internet.

Clean place but overpriced. Close to a casino must have been reason for price being high.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KLGreen Customer Service RUINED our Trip
I rate this hotel VERY low simply because of the lack of professionalism and knowledge of procedure by your front desk clerk. My family and I stayed at your hotel this past weekend. Myself and 2 others cousins work for the same company that offer discounts to be used for personal travel. Your clerk told me that there is no way possible that my 2 cousins and I can work for the same company, we have been warned and put on a list so that the next time we check into a Holiday Inn hotel we need to show our work badge. That is not stated anywhere in my company's policy nor have I seen it on the Holiday Inn website. My family stayed in about 15 rooms this past weekend and needless to say, we will not be returning. Our annual family reunion is held every year in Washington, LA and Holiday Inn has always been my hotel of choice. That 1 person RUINED it for us. The rooms were not clean enough or up to Holiday Inn standards. For something to be wiped down with a wet cloth instead of being wiped down with a soapy/wet cloth is unacceptable. The drainage in the tub and bathroom sink is not good at all. I believe this place is understaffed due to the linen not being cleaned properly and as we were getting ready to leave on Sunday, two men dressed in plain clothes were cleaning rooms. Had they knocked on my door to say "housekeeping" I would not have let them in. The front desk clerk that morning told us that the linen is only replaced every other day. That is DISGUSTING. Who wants to sleep on dirty sheets from a stranger. I'm clean and wouldn't want someone to sleep after me. For the price spent, I would have expected a complimentary breakfast. I saw online that breakfast had to be purchased with room reservation, but that needs to be changed. Comfort Suites is WAY cheaper without employee discount and offers FREE breakfast. Some of my other family members stayed there so I know that to be true. The kids enjoyed the chlorine air filled pool room, but what kid wouldn't enjoy a pool. Someone put bubbles/soap in the hot tub. Parking is horrible. Elevator could use a good cleaning and servicing. I LOVE Holiday Inn, but not this one in Opelousas, LA. Had that one lady been a little nicer and the linen clean, I could have overlooked the elevator, breakfast, and pool area. But when you get upset about 1 thing, you look for everything to be upset about because that is the vibe you were given to work with. Her nasty vibe was strong considering we had a PHONE conversation and it wasn't in person. I thank God my mother was able to check into our room before I got there. I probably would have been sleeping in my car if I had to meet her in person.
