Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The door I stayed here for a wedding. When we were ready to go to the wedding we went to close the door and we noticed that the door did not lock. So we went down to the front desk and told the staff, they called the handyman. The handyman did not know what he was doing and he was banging on the metal part where it locks to fix it.I though this was very unprofessional and we told the front desk staff and they didn't do anything about it. We also had to be at the wedding reception and we almost missed the ceremony because the handyman did not know what he was doing. Overall i think this situation could of been handled better i was not pleased with my stay. The door should of locked thankfully we check the door before we left. November 14, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The Truth When I had arrived at the hotel the initial appearance was very good. All the decor was wonderful. The lady at the front desk was very nice. It was not until I reached my room and i saw that the room had not been completely cleaned. There urine stains on the rim of the toilet seat. The shower had a private area hair in it and the shower curtain was not adequate nor washed either as it was blackened on the Bottom of the curtain. And the floors in the hallway we're very dirty. None of the housekeepers like to move out of your way or move the cart when walking by. Additional they dont know any English. On the other hand, the food was good. I wish we were closer to the wedding party. The bartender was awesome. The maintenance was fast to come to our room for an air conditioning problems. One main issue is that the housekeeping should not clean your room out completely before it is even time to check out of the hotel. They were there at 10 and the checkout is 11 a.m.. And of course again, she told me she speaks no English. November 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Orangeburg Very relaxing place. Found it odd that they did not offer breakfast with your stay and the lounge was closed for lunch all together. I wa staying there for a wedding and they got the morning breakfast orders wrong and were not prepared (did not have what they offered on the menu.) Also we were supposed to get discounts on our rooms for a wedding block but turns out we didn't. However with this beig said I would still stay at a holiday inn again. November 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Some rooms not up to IHG standards We had 2 rooms in 1 night and both weren't good. Upon arriving we asked if a suite was available and were told at the desk that we were in a suite. That sounded like a good start. However, the room wasn't a suite, just a normal room. I would have expected the front desk to know which rooms are suites. When we got to the room and went to use the shower we found a large amount of hair in the shower. We called the desk about this and they said they'd move us to another room. We moved to the other room which had very stained carpets - like you'd see in a very low-quality motel, not a Holiday Inn. Tired after a long day of work, we opted not to complain about the room's appearance as we wanted to sleep. Unfortunately we found that there was frequent loud banging of heating or water pipes in the wall. The noise lasted all night long and made it hard to get good sleep. The breakfast wasn't very appealing. We expected better from this location and from Holiday Inn. November 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stay We stayed here as we had a nearby wedding. It was very convenient to the highway and was easy to get to. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom shower was great. There was internet and cable tv and the room was very spacious. The bar was well stocked and we had a good time. We also stayed for a buffet breakfast and the variety was good and the food was hot and good. Would stay here again and recommend to others. November 6, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by What Happened? I have stayed at this location frequently (1-5 times per month) since it was renovated a few years ago. Seems like every visit it gets a little worse. My Platinum status is not recognized any longer. I specifically ask for 2nd floor, I get first floor. I have not seen a goody bag in months (it wasn't much, but it was nice), I used to get upgraded every time, now nothing. I asked for an hour early check in on this date because I was arriving into town extra early, said they could not accommodate me. The place is really slipping. I do love the breakfasts but have stopped eating the dinners, the salads don't seem fresh any more and the portions are not worth the price. I will continue to stay here, but would like to see some improvement in service. Really, what is the point in being loyal to IHG with Platinum status if there is no recognition? October 23, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable enough but bad customer service. We stayed here on a planned visit to Sleepy Hollow. We were happy enough with our room and all was fine there. What put us off immediately was the front desk staff. We were greeted in a less than friendly manner, unusual for Holiday Inns. After our first experience with the front counter staff while checking in, we were never, ever greeted or even spoken to by the anyone at the front desk during the rest of our stay. May not be a big deal to some guests, but we are used to a friendly front desk staff that smiles and speaks to us as we walk through. So much so that I guess we have grown to expect it from the staff at Holiday Inn. It was just something we really noticed. October 23, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unaccommodating I have to say - this was not a pleasant stay. I phoned ahead the day before and told the person answering the phone that I had a wedding to attend at 4:00. With a 3:00 check in time, that left me scant time to get ready. The gentleman couldn't do anything for me. He said they were fully booked the night before. With a checkout time at 11:00, I couldn't understand why they couldn't figure out a way to accommodate an early check in. The bride and groom arranged for about 20 rooms to be booked. The next day we arrived at 1:30 from a far distance, not expecting an early check in. The hotel was completely empty. The desk people still made no effort to get us in earlier than 3:00. They just watched us in the lobby for over 90 minutes. I know they were full the night before, but with an 11:00 checkout, were there no rooms clean by 2:00? To add insult to injury, our rooms were not ready by 3:00. At 3:15 we were given keys to rooms after asserting ourselves. We were not given the rooms we reserved and took lesser accommodations just so we could get changed and ready for the 4:00 wedding. A really, really inept staff. What a disappointment. Unable to check in early, but room was still NOT READY by 3 pm and staff on duty at the tjme could care less. Unacceptable especially since rooms were reserved ahead of time. When I entered the bathroom, there were used towels on the rack, floor, tub and over the shower. The soap on the sink was used. The bedsheets had not been changed from the previous party. No one on duty from housekeeping...had to change my own sheets, etc. Overall terrible experience. October 16, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Looks nice ...at first glance We stayed here as part of a wedding party. At first, we only were able to receive the discounted rate for the night of the wedding. The groom called and the price was adjusted. The lobby looked newly renovated and the staff was friendly. The room was CHEAPLY renovated and fairly dirty. The carpets in the hallway and the rooms desperately needed a good washing. The fridge was not turned plugged in, the tub looked dirty, and the desk had a sticky film on it. I did not have confidence that anything was truly clean. The breakfast buffet was pretty awful. Competitors often offer a similar (often better) breakfast for free. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holida Inn in Rockland county rocks!! I am a student a dominican College right up the road from the Holiday Inn, the staff is always kind and thoughtful. I have been communtingg between RI and NY going on a year now and have stayed at the Holiday Inn for at least half a dozen times. The breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious and worth every scent. if you have the pleasure of staying while their pool is open I would highly recommend taking a dip the water is always clear and clean and well stocked with towels, and theres nothing like browsing the web while you work on your tan, it's awesome that the wifi is accessible by the pool. My previous stay I was upgraded to a junior sweet and the room was nicely furnished and made for comfort and ease to woork oon homework with my graduate peers. The Holiday Inn has become my home away from home and the staff an extended portion of my family. I am always greated kinly by Jenn the consiierge and always reminded that any forgotten ammenities can be found a the front desk which is always appreciated as i often forget deodorant. I highly reccommend anyone to stay at the Holidaay Inn in Rockland County. October 9, 2013

Not a good finding , rather horrible and not acceptable... Bath tub had a scum and certainly not clean... Had to cover the upholstered chair before sitting...had an odor... Did not get the accomadation promised... You need to know , I am a customer advocate for both the guest and the Holiday Inn... October 2, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff The manager was very helpful and receptive. the lady , linda, laura, in the breakfast area was the friendliest, nicest woman ever with a great memory. One morning there were a ton of kids and rude parents who let their children leave a mess at almost every table and she was so nice she didn't complain, I felt so bad for her, I started helping her clean the tables and called her manager over to see what the people had done in case anyone had complained. This lady was wonderful and I hate I am not good with names but she is the only one there so they should know who I am talking about. September 22, 2013

Cleanliness is very important to me so I called the front desk days prior to my stay and spoke with Jenna and shared my concern with her. She took it upon herself to upgrade me to a Jr. Suite. I was pleasantly surprised since it was not what I expected. I just wanted to make sure that my room would be spotless upon arrival. Needless to say, my room was clean, was given a voucher for a free breakfast AND the king bed was very comfortable. I will definitely stay there again. Thank you Jenna. September 11, 2013

With recent renovations, it is attractive in appearance. Executive rooms have comfortable beds, ample bathroom counter and shelf space, and an adequate number of electrical outlets. The staff is courteous, polite, and responsive. As a priority club member, upgraded rooms, complimentary breakfast, and expedited check-in make my stay more pleasant. There is easy, on-site parking. Computers in the executive area are old rendering them unusable as well as the printers (as the computer does not support documents using newer OSs. Additionally, standard rooms have limited electrical outlets, and some are in need of refreshing. Overall, however, I would recommend this location as a clean, dependable, pleasant, cost effective site. September 10, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room 7309 When you walk into the room, you are hit with an overwhelming smell of dampness, as if the carpet or something in the walls is permanently wet and starting to mildew. It dissipates when you walk further in, and after some time you get used to it. The room needs serious dehumidifying or other correction. Upon arrival we were checked-in by Joe, the desk staff associate, who was welcoming and efficient. He was also very helpful in providing us info and tips concerning the local area and points of interest. All of the staff were outgoingly courteous and helpful. The property was well maintained and lovely. The room was beautifully furnished and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was plentiful and well-prepared.
