Hotel is comfortable and conveniently located for folks visiting universal and disney. Room is good sized and beds are comfy. But room is dusty and maintenance didnt clean it everyday we stayed. No breakfast (which is not what we expected at a holiday inn).

We had never stayed in a Holiday Inn resort before, however, we will certainly be going back to the one across from universal. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. Also, having a microwave and coffee pot was nice. I don't usually write reviews, but I was quite impressed.

Check in was easy, easy to find parking close the a hotel entrance. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean, and comfortable.

We picked this hotel because of its proximity to Universal Studios and our abundance of IHG Rewards. The reservation agent neglected to mention that we could not use points if the hotel was at capacity. While the room rates were good for the space we got, we expected to have less out of pocket - and it took 3 inquiries to get someone to explain that. The hotel is old and fairly clean. Our room did not include an ice bucket. The biggest problem with this hotel is the TGIFriday's connected to it. That's where you have to go for breakfast. Nothing is provided in the hotel. At a late dinner, we waited 5 minutes with food in front of us but no silverware. Drinks were not refilled. We received 2 of 3 meals then waited a solid 20 minutes for my young son's meal to arrive, cold. The manager waived some of our fees, but we'd have preferred decent service. On a Saturday morning, we headed to the buffet at 8:30. There were no bowls or milk available at the cereal, silverware was again missing and the lone server was too busy to respond promptly. After those experiences, we walked a quarter mile to the nearest free-standing restaurant.

1) business centre was not fully functionable.
2) salesman was trying to get us to visit a new Holiday Hotel the next day after constantly telling him that we were uninterested...very annoying
3) bedroom carpet was wet
4) the walls are paper thin. heard the conversation of the room next door

Arrived at 11PM after calling at noon to confirm late arrival. The room (2 bedroom suite) I reserved was not available. I had a party of 5 tired adults. I wound up with a standard room with 2 double beds at a lesser rate & was ultimately comped a second standard room with 2 double beds. Two standard rooms is not the same as a 2 bedroom suite!! But at midnight during the Christmas week there wasn't much choice. The comped room was awful. The HVAC did not work properly, one of the beds was uncomfortable (lopsided), the TV channels did not work and the shower handle was broken & water ceased during a shower. Preferred parking for Rewards guests was virtually non-existent as the lot is shared with Budget car rental. The hotel did not monitor the lot because vehicles without the requisite "pass" were parked there.
At checkout the next morning, the front desk did offer a discount for these inconveniences. Was asked if I would like management to call and discuss the situation and I replied I would. I'm still waiting......
As a "local" I chose to stay in Orlando over the holidays to be closer to the parks as I entertained out of state guests. I won't be staying here again. This hotel needs to be updated; it looks tired. As a Platinum Elite member I have stayed at many IHG properties and this one is probably the most disappointing.
