Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Consistently excellent
I have been staying at this hotel every week since June, the staff have always been very welcoming from my first stay.
The rooms are comfortable, clean and are well maintained. On the odd occasion I have had to report something, a bulb out for example, the staff have dealt with the issue immediately.
As business traveller the convenience of room service is always very important, I have had both breakfast and evening meals via room service and the quality of the food / delivery service is equally as good as that delivered in the restaurant.
The restaurant, although only offering a limited menu (as with most hotels in this price bracket), offers an excellent standard of food and terrific service.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

We had a really relaxing lovely stay
Good food ,comfy bed very attentive friendly and helpfull staff
Although very close to main road the room was very quiet and peaceful ,
Great place to leave the car behind for a couple of days, the park and ride is just a short stroll across the car park, after your culture or shopping trip ,it's great to relax in the spotless spa or just relax in the bar..

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CR4ZYHORSE Great overall experience
Well located for Oxford and outlying technology parks and sites, the Holiday Inn offers top quality services and amenities.
Excellent fitness room in the adjacent health club, very nice restaurant and bar area.
Quiet clean and comfortable rooms and ample public space, my only criticism would be that at busy periods, it can take a while to get service in the bar / lounge area, but this is more than compensated for by the friendly and helpful staff.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Shei1 Disappointing
We found our room was a bit shabby; there were scuff marks on surfaces, the furniture was old and the bathroom was showing signs of wear. The bed was not particularly comfortable. The breakfast was uninspiring-very ordinary.
The swimming pool was good, though my locker was dusty.

I stayed at this hotel with 7 of my friends with whom I had trained as a nurse 30 years ago in Gloucester. We all live in different places hence the decision to go to Oxford being a mid ground venue.
The staff were very friendly on arrival, the room was comfy, the bathroom clean and the bed lovely. The bed was much more comfy than the Premier Inn who promise comfort.
We stayed at the hotel for a meal and although the wine was expensive, the food was excellent. The service was excellent too. We did negotiate a little deal for the wine but I think a better deal could have been reached.
The breakfast was good and very filling although I had to hunt around for cutlery as staff had not laid the table well.
If we come again, I would like to see a deal for 8 women to stay with a group discount and maybe put us on one floor rather than over 3 floors.
I would like to see a better deal on the wine otherwise we shall all purchase the wine before at a far better deal.

Overall experience was a good hotel in an excellent location for Oxford with Park and Ride 1 min walk away.
We were disappointed with the menu on offer for dinner in the restaurant and the quality was not the usual high standard we have experienced before and therefore ate out on our second night.. There was no problem with the breakfast.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BexBooty Very Impressed !
We were visiting our son at Oxford Brookes and wanted somewhere to stay for l night with easy parking. We were very impressed with the hotel, it was very buzzy and the meal we had in the restaurant that night was excellent. Followed by a very good buffet breakfast the next morning. Bed was very comfortable and had a choice
of medium or soft pillow.
The only thing that we did not do was visit the spa, we would have done if you could have accessed it from a lift but you had to walk
through the main reception/bar area to get to it !! Not a good look
in a robe !!!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lodesters Family celebration weekend
Great facilities and staff in general, particularly good breakfast buffet and attentive restaurant manager. Such a pity then that reception couldn't get the room bookings right. Not the right beds in the rooms for our family and to add insult to injury reception tried to get one of our party to pay for their room which had already been prepaid as part of my multi-room booking. It's not enough to always blame computers!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lumpy135 To many niggles
Greeted by receptionist very nicely, given our room key, ends their, found our room and their was an empty beer glass right outside our door, still their when we went down to bar for tea even though cleaning staff were in room opposite.
Woken in morning by chambermaids talking very loud outside room in foreign language, outside room door was now, empty beer bottle, went for a swim, good, went to breakfast had to wait for plates no scrambled egg, only one sausage left, had to ask 3 times for tea and coffee, with a stupid restaraunt manager laughing at the situation.
Checked out, receptionist very attentive and concerned.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Clean, friendly, good breakfast
The Holiday Inn stay suited us perfectly for a weekend trip to Oxford; it was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We used the park-and-ride in and out of Oxford which worked perfectly (lots of buses and it doesn't take very long).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jerry5402 Room was too hot
Due to the heating both in the corridor and in the room,
the temperature was way to high to get a good night sleep.
Even with the heating off, and the window open, the room temp did not drop below 24 degrees C.
And given the price you charge, WIFI should be free of additional charge.
The staff was very friendly.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Backlash Bar staff would benefit from some customer service training
Lovely Hotel with great amenities was pleasantly surprised by quality of swimming and gym area. Staff all round very well-mannered and welcoming expect for the rude bar staff, really off putting and made to feel like a pain when asking for a drink, 2nd night they run out of pint glassed as the poor bloke was working a busy bar on his own! Bar staff in the wrong job as they gave the impression they didn't want to serve you and certainly not with a smile..

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MikelB Great staff, awful after dinner coffee
Just an overnight but impressed by friendly helpful staff and room to the normal Holiday Inn standard. Food was ok but the coffee after dinner was truly abysmal, I think calling it coffee is an offence against the Trades Description Act. I can cope with most things but I couldn't drink this horror. Strange because the coffee at breakfast is fine!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by HGodf Good spa facilities, shame about it's booking system
Overall we had a good stay but I was disappointed & annoyed that, despite having sent an email to book a massage for my Mum's birthday the following day & requesting a reply, I had to chase up the spa myself. I discovered the day of arrival that the email had been received but noone had replied. Consequently, I couldn't book the treatment I wanted. An apology would have been the least I expected. I chose this hotel for the facilities but felt let down by this. Otherwise, staff were generally very friendly. I'm glad I didn't book the 15£ breakfast buffet as it seemed pretty basic for the price.
I was also disappointed to discover it was situated on a service station.
Note to the hotel: I chose this hotel specifically for it's spa but you need to improve the booking online service. Not replying to customer orders is simply not expected from a large chain. .

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by malcolm4560 Mostly excellent
Conveniently located to access Oxford and to escape it. Quiet rooms, clean and modern with excellent, well-informed staff. The only negatives are that wifi is not free despite what the adverts say, and the toilet rolls are horribly cheap!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by osiris15 Smoking problem.
I know it is a disgusting habit to many, but I do smoke. I only chose this hotel as they had smoking rooms available. My booking dates coincided with the no smoking policy now in place. I was offered a free upgrade to an executive room and free welcome drinks as a good will gesture. I was also told I could not get a refund as I booked online! I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I was not offered a welcome drink when I arrived and after looking at images online of the standard room compared to the executive room, I think the only difference was a threadbare dressing gown and a chunky Kitkat! When I checked in the guy at reception was very friendly. I asked where I could smoke outside the hotel and he said "not anywhere, over there" and pointed to the car park. The next day, I thought I saw people smoking on their patio and asked once again at reception (I spoke to a different man) where I could smoke. He informed me that I could smoke outside the hotel entrance and there was an ashtray there. Also I could smoke on the patio. Everything at the hotel is expensive, everything. £3.05 for a mug of tea at the bar.
The bed was so comfortable, it was very clean and the staff were very friendly.

This whole experience from booking to staying for two separate nights was very good indeed. The reception staff were very pleasant and also very helpful. Our rooms on the fourth floor were quiet, extremely clean and very comfortable. The close proximity to 'park and ride' was very helpful even though we had a hire car. We would certainly recommend this hotel for Oxford itself or surrounding areas.

Even though we only stayed for two nights we felt we had had a really great break. The pool and spa facilities were an amazing bonus and nothing was too much trouble for the staff on reception. The room was really cosy and very clean. Great to be so close to park and ride and waitrose too!

Hotel staff are very friendly & ambiance is good. Have out of date Priority Club offer posters up all around so that should be looked at by the Manager. Bedroom clean & well appointed. Pool leisure facilities all good. Food at breakfast was OK, usual buffet-fare under heat lamps; no marmalade anywhere for toast etc. As a Priority Gold Plus member I wasn't offered 500 pts or a drink at the bar... so that was disappointing. Overall... a good location & good hotel.
