I love to stay at the Holiday Inn City of Knowledge. When I arrive and the staff recognizes me it's like coming home to my family. They show me affection and that they really cares. I love when they call me Dona Vilma. That means they know me. So I try to be a nice guest so they continue giving me the treatment I like.
The room ... mh mh mh! I always sleep well in my bed in any of the floors. it is always comfortable and clean! And the view ... it's like transporting to the eighth wonder of the world. I love to watch boats arriving at the canal and being loaded into this wonderful place. Definitely, it is one of my favorite places to stay!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hans55 Great improvement!
This was my 4th stay at Holiday Inn in Clayton, Panama. And my best stay - staff service has improved very much. Especially the restaurant service has improved a lot, so has the reception.
In earlier stays service was very poor - but now really good.
Room could be improved - AC is really noisy. Bathroom amenities could be improved. But good sleep, good waterpressure in shower and WiFi working really well.
An extra plus to staff in restaurant !

This was my second trip to Panama. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Panama Canal 17 days in December and January.
The inn is outside the main part of the Panama City which means it was away from the noise I encountered on my first visit to Panama.
I'd rented a car and began exploring after breakfast. BTW, driving in Panama is not as much "fun" as driving in the Middle East, but it's a lot more "fun" than driving in the UK or Canada.
The breakfast buffet included in the room charge was excellent. The selection varied by day, included the usual North American items sometimes prepared in a a different way, like sausages with tomatoes and peppers. An omelette bar without a tip jar was refreshing. There is a tip box at the host / cashier counter and all was well appreciated. Cold cuts and cheeses were different for a hotel buffet and the mini croissants and cinnamon rolls were excellent.
After a day exploring the city, an evening in the lobby, poolside or relaxing in the room was welcome. A few days I spent at the hotel at poolside to recharge.
"Everyone goes to the beach on Christmas and New Years." After a two hour drive to the beach in Santa Clara and a six hour drive back on New Years, I agree and was glad to have the Holiday Inn to go back to.
The inn staff were all friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. There were a couple of days with towel issues, but these were immediately resolved. A note left at the mini-bar got a lot more tea bags and sugar.
Overall, an excellent experience.

Notes on our stay:
Your chef is a keeper. Your limited dinner menu left us unhappy-since it is the only place to eat in the area, unless we took a cab ride. The $24/person charge for dinner buffett is very excessive. We stayed 4 nights total, but only used the buffett one time. Your housekeeper did not leave towels one day (took the used ones, and did not leave new ones to replace them). Coffee in the room is very good - Panama certainly produces fine coffee! You left only one tea bag in our room for two people to share. Why? Your front desk personel were exceptional. Wake-up calls were timely and correct in every way! Very friendly. Thank you. This was our second trip to Panama - we love Panama!!!

Stayed at the Holiday Inn with family for three nights. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We also had a wonderful view of the Mira Flores locks. There is a lobby bar and a small shop where you can purchase snacks and specialty coffee. Breakfast is a free buffet each day and there were so many choices that we could not try everything. We ate dinner one night at the restaurant and it was good too. Another restaurant was in walking distance so we tried that and had a nice meal. Plenty of free parking. The staff was excellent, responding to our every need. Had some issues with the door locks in one of the rooms and maintenance was there very quickly to resolve the problem. I would recommend this hotel.
