Third time at the Paris-Bastille Holiday Inn.
Perfect location when you come from the south, arriving or departing from the Lyon station. That's why we chose this hotel the first time.
The rooms (the ones we've had) are a bit small but they're well furnished and very quiet if you have the chance to get a room at the back.
The breakfast buffet is most enjoyable with lost of breads, pastries, savoury and sweet delicatessen.
A real pity the communication among the staff is so poor: for the second time, we were woken up on two occasions by the phone and the chamber maid 2 hours before the late checkout (2:00 p.m.) we had asked for and were entitled to with the Priority Club card.
Shall we choose another hotel next time we come to Paris ?

My husband and I use this hotel regularly as we pass through from Spain to England, via Paris.
Normally the staff are very pleasant but on this occasion they seemed preoccupied and had a 'couldn't care less' attitude.
As a Platinum Elite customer, I don't expect staff to be gushing but I do expect a certain amount of recognition.This was sadly lacking. We were not given an upgrade, as on our previous visit, two weeks before, when we had a suite.
I only hope our next visit will be better.

Location near Gare De Leon made this stay very convenient for my wife and I. Walk two blocks to the station and hop on the Metro or RER to get anywhere in Paris in a few minutes (ask about Navigo Pass). There are also several bus lines that stop within 2 blocks of the hotel for those who prefer the bus system.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and spacious (by Paris standards) and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable for both my wife and I. Grocery store, Pharmacy and several restaurants (including a Subway) close added to the convenience. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant except for breakfast a couple of mornings. Breakfast buffet was good.
Were doing some remodeling in the lobby area, but this was not an issue or inconvenience for us at all.
Would recommend and I would stay here again.

While the room was a good size for European rooms the bathroom was small with no heat and/or washcloths. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were a fine compliment - slept well! Good location with access to Metro and rail transportation! All areas of the city within reach.
What we have come to expect as normal for Gold members was missing. There was no daily newspaper, no acknowledgement of being a gold member and no room upgrade offered / available.
Some of the normal expectations were well below average such as no coffee creamer / sugar on a regular basis and room not cleaned by 5 pm (had to wait following a long day of touring)!!

The Hotel location was very good, very close to Gare de Lyon train station. The only issue we had was both elevator broke down and we had to brought our lugguages from the stairs. We stayed at the 4th floor. The first elevator broke down a few days before we left and no one fixed it. Then the 2nd one broke down the day before we left. They should fixed the first one as soon as it was broken down.

The hotel staff were very sociable and attentive to my needs. The room was very comfortable.
Just a couple of minor points:-
First, Don't get off the Metro at Bastille like I did, but go to Gare du Lyon as it is much, much closer. The name Holiday Inn Gare du Lyon would be more appropraite.
The second, whilst there are two lifts installed, only one works, so a little patience is needed.

I occupied a newly refreshed room. The room is now brighter than it was, by using fresh and clear colors.
One regret: in the bathroom there was absolutely no place for my toilet articles. It would have been easy to surround the sink with a kind of shelf.
But the stay and the hotel was very good despite this little regret.

My mother and I took a 24 hour trip to Paris, while I was in London for business. We couln't find an available room by the Eiffel Tower, because of an art festival going on in that area.
So, we ended up staying near the Gare Du Lyon. It actually turned out to be a great location. Only a 10 Euro ride from the EuroStar train station, and the hotel is a couple of blocks away from the Lyon train station, and metro system.
The receptionist spoke fluent english and the room we had was very nice. It looked to be remodeled.
One thing that drove me a little crazy, about all of the European Hotels that we stayed at, chain, or independant, was that there was never a clock in the room.
It would be helpful to have the local time displayed at a quick glance.
Other than that, everything was great!

The hotel was clean and comfortable. We were given complementary pastries for breakfast on the first morning. When the heating failed, a staff member brought a radiator to the room at 2am. The heating was fixed the next day. The hotel is well located for good, inexpensive restaurants, and a four-minute walk from the Gare de Lyon, which was great for our onward journey to Rome. The Paris tour bus stops nearby for sightseeing, as well as the Metro and regular buses for the sights. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

This is a nice hotel, well located, very close to la Gare de Lyon. My room was small but confortable. It has all necessary ammenities. The bathroom was too small. Unfortunately it was under repairs.

THE HOTEL IS UNDERGOING A FULL REFURBISHING, I SUGGEST THEY DO IT FLOOR BY FLOOR AND CLOSING THE ONE UNDER REPAIRS UNTIL FINISHED, NOT ASSIGNING ROOMS ON THEM WHILE ON REPAIR.

I had two rooms on two different floors. There was work being done on all the halls upstairs. One room near a stair well was bothered by noise each morning from the workers. I would not expect the rooms to be in service with all the work going on. Finsih one area then move on, but almost all the floors were in disarray!!
