Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The tale of two cities During a recent trip to Europe we stayed in two different Holiday Inn resorts in Paris. We arrived to the Elysees from the airport with multiple large bags and due to the location of the hotel, it requires the driver to block traffic. The desk attendant was located right next to the door and did not offer to help (normally I wouldn't ask, but it was obvious we could have used an extra hand). My husband and I are both Spire elite members with IHG and generally we get offered an upgrade (when available) and there is a small welcome treat (not this time). We ended up on the 5th floor, of all Executive Rooms, in the only non-executive room..which in itself was not an issue, but the room was too small to fit our luggage and us in it! Additionally, part of the reason we chose the hotel was because it had a bar available. It was not open...so off we went in the rain to search for a cocktail before dinner. With so many great hotels in Paris, including other IHG properties, this visit was disappointing to say the least. January 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Family Experience As a family of 4 it is always a challenge to find the right room at the right price at the right time. However we were very lucky in our stay in Paris. The Hotel Manager was fantastic and very attentive to our needs. He took the time to explain to us how to move around Paris and had a great disposition. The room was also great in terms of comfort. The bathroom was a little small but then again room size is restricted in Paris. The only negative thing was the value of the room service. We had to use this as one of our group was sick and were not able to go out to eat. The menu, speed and delivery was excellent but we were a little underwhelmed with the food quality especially for the price. Other than that, it is located in a busy part of Paris but I enjoyed the location and the hotel overall. Recommend highly. January 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not like other Holiday Inns in Paris I had great expectations that this hotel would be as nice as the HI Lyon. It wasn't and was so much more expensive because of location. Many cafes were closed as it was Xmas so we had to walk a long way to find any suitable bistro. We pre payed, an enormous amount,or we would have checked out upon arrival. The staff were great especially Emmanuel. This could be a back packers paradise but it's pretty expensive. I travel with suitcases and there was just no room to unpack or hang clothes up. They do provide some nice touches such as a bottle of wine and water on check in but this doesn't compensate for the polyester sheets and foam rubber pillows and plastic glasses and a tube of shower gel which was also to be used as shampoo January 3, 2016
