Got a good nights sleep at a good price. Easy access to highways. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. AC worked well and the room was clean.

I have no idea how this hotel gets such a high rating. The carpet was stained throughout with long snags , lack of outlets, the bed had a visible sag in the middle and it took ten minute to get hot water. No joke. When I called the front desk this was clearly not a new phenomenon. "Just let it run" I was told. "I have been" I replied. I was told the pipes hadn't been used for a while and to keep letting it run. Discouraged by the lack of support, and giving up all hope, my husband finally decided to take a cold/tepid shower. When he finished it was warm. The front desk did not make an offer for IHG bonus points or welcome me as a Platinum member. Ice maker was out of order. The staff was unable to provide a quick checkout receipt showing payment made/$0 balance until we had actually checked completely out. Seems some cosmetic upgrades have been made to the property, but this place is really on the downturn. I hate to complain as I love IHG.

We stayed here as it was one of the closer major brands in the area relative to Salem State University.
Price is higher than expected for the quality of the property and location - Fine if staying using IHG points.

For the past 4 years I have stayed at this Holiday Inn when conducting business in the Boston area. Each time the hotel seems to be going downhill. It gives the impression of being outdated due to the dark carpet in all hallways which have a musty or stale odor and adds to the impression of being outdated and unkempt. I notice wall molding or baseboards loose in some areas and numerous scuff marks along the walls. Some of the tile in the entrance ways are cracked as well. To me, all these conditions mean the hotel is not being kept up. When I return to the Boston area, I will only stay here again if nothing else is available.
Bed and pillows comfortable
Good Wi-Fi. Reliable with average speed of 15 Bbps
Was not recognized as a Platinum Elite member. No bonus points, bottle of water, or even a thank you
Hallway to room had a stale odor through entire corridor and some entrance areas contained cracked floor tile
Room did not have enough lighting making it dark and dreary
Room did not contain a microwave or mini-fridge. Even smaller hotel chains have these features
Desk chair set to low for height of desk and was not height adjustable
Television slow to change channels
Separating door to connecting room had knob about to fall off
Housekeeping did not renew toilet paper in bathroom even though one roll was completely empty. I came very close to running out before checking out of room
Hot water takes and extended amount of time to reach the shower head resulting in a waste of water due to it being cold before you can get into the shower
Ice machines on all 4 floors did not function and the bottoms beneath the ice dispenser area was visibly gross with possibly mold

I stay in this hotel every time I travel to the area. The only down falls are one elevator that tends to get bogged down and the AC is not the greatest but is acceptable fro what I find in most hotels.

Friendly and helpful staff, good location near I95 and US 1, clean and comfortable. Be careful not to miss the turn off when coming north on US 1. Turn immediately at the Carrabas sign.
