Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very average Certainly would not have used a solid colored carpet because you can never get all the stains by previous occupants out. There were no chairs to sit and read in other than the desk chair and 2 ottomans. They charged $10.00 per night if you requested a microwave and refrigerator. I will look for other options for our next visit. September 5, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service and old carpeting We stayed in a King Suite for one night with our daughter. The rooms were connected by a set of windowed double doors with curtains. The space was large and open and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the carpeting was stained in several different places and some of the stains were quite large. This was very off putting. In addition, I had noticed while waiting for the elevator, that the ceiling tiles above the doors were discolored and blackened from water damage. ( Lobby level). We were very tired and wanted to go right to sleep. There were no blankets for the sofa bed - only sheets. I attempted to call housekeeping twice to request blankets and even though a woman answered the phone, the call seemed to switch directly to an answering machine. I left my name, room number and request for a blanket and it was never delivered. September 4, 2014

Our key card didn't work to get into our room ,which was top floor ,furthest down the hallway.Had to go all the way back down to lobby to correct this ,but was corrected efficiently. Towels for two were provided when there were four of us staying in the room. That also was corrected eventually.Nice stay after those two glitches! September 1, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely room and near our destination We decided on this location as it was very near Salem. We went with the suite and were very pleased with it. The rooms were spacious, neat and clean. There was a small kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator and sink (which we did use). We took advantage of the pool, which was very nice. Breakfast buffet was average. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We only had two drawbacks. First, the bed was not that comfortable. The mattress was a little too hard and I had a hard time falling to sleep the first night. Our daughter had the pull out couch, which she said was not comfortable (which we expected, as they never are). The second night she did not pull out the bed and just slept on the couch and she was fine with that. Secondly, the hotel is on a very busy street and it was very hard to get out of the driveway into the heavy flow of traffic. However, would recommend this hotel and would stay again. August 28, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad choice This was our first stay at this hotel when visiting Peabody and probably the last. Our first room was unacceptable due to noisy beds. The mattresses are supported by a plywood box so make noise every time you bump into the bed, sit or lay down on it. There was also long black hairs on bedspread. We were upgraded to a king suite which was much better as the beds were on normal box springs. Breakfast not included, but not the first time this has happened... Only good side to this was I booked the stay using reward points.... I would say this hotel needs major updates as far as bedding. August 28, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Long Stay We stayed at Holiday Inn Peabody for a little over a month, our home was being renovated. The staff at the hotel made us feel as if we were home. The room we had was nice and comfortable. We were able to relax after work in our room. The kids enjoyed the pool. We were able to use the business center to check our emails and print some necessary documents. The staff at the front desk were top notch, we got to know all of them really well. I send a special thank you to Lenny, Darrah, Inga, Veronica, Cassandra, Carly, Roberto and Jonathan. These fine people accommodated us and we are forever grateful. I cannot forget the management staff Sam and Carlos....thank you gentlemen!! August 27, 2014

The room smelled like smoke with an attempt made to mask the smell so it didn't smell like smoke. .Very obvious "stale" odor i the room. King bed that is due for replacement supplied with 2 1/4 size pillows for each person. 3 of these pillow would be needed to make one pillow. Not what we have come to expect from Holiday Inn. Of all the Holidays Inns we have stayed at, this would be at or near the bottom for quality of stay. August 27, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by cut too many corners and you lose the whole This hotel is a classic example of a chain running on its national brand and in no way caring about customer service. We were greeted by a front desk that was disorganized and after asking for simply my name to check in told me "you dont have a room with us. you sure its this hotel?" After finding my confirmation number I got an "oh oh yea, here it is, seems to be under another name" which it was not. The room itself rated as sub-par to poor. No hot water in the shower. Towels were sandpaper at best. Pillows on the bed were small squares more the size of couch throw pillows. Overall experience was poor. I am glad we were only staying for 1 night and barely spent any time in the hotel. August 26, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Not the usual Holiday Inn Normally, I really enjoy the Holiday Inn. Not so with this one. The lobby is really nice indicating that you would have a good night's rest. However, the bed was not good and the room cramped. I asked for a rollaway and not only did they NOT accommodate me, but they did not call or come. I asked for extra towels, they did not come. Lastly, they failed to tell us that breakfast was included. The restaurant asked me about vouchers but I had no idea what they were talking about. The front desk never mentioned it even though I asked about breakfast. So, I was charged and it took awhile but they reimbursed me half of the meal cost. Overall, this was not my usual Holiday Inn stay and I just felt overall I would have been better off staying at my mother's victorian. August 25, 2014

I showed them my platinum slite card and id. They said they require a $50 hold on a credit czrd for "inciddntals". Then i go to my room and there is no fridge or microwave, so i go back to front desk and ask for room with them. She tells me that they charge $20 to upgrade to get the microwave and fridge.i said thats crazy and go to my a platinum member, all holiday innz give me water and snack or bonus points at checkin and a room upgrade. They obviously were available. Guess next time i need to be more assertive? August 25, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old, Worn, needs update, or reduce the price For the price we paid, I was surprised at the condition of the hotel. It was worth $39/night. Mattresses were worn, sheets were so worn that I didn't think they had been changed since the last guest - had to inspect very closely. Duvet and blankets were worn and dirty. Carpeting was spotted and dirty. We were looking forward to a swim, but the pool water was murkey and cloudy - very undesirable. It is unacceptable to charge the going rate when purchasing updated new clean sheets isn't in the hotel budget. The breakfast was average. Eggs, sausage, bacon, and plenty of fresh fruit was provided. Bread choices could have been better - two choices provided that didn't look appetizing at all. Overall the hotel needs an update and a close look at cleanliness. The TV worked well and the Wifi worked great too. August 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 king suite Suite was so spacious and clean. Only thing that could possibly make it better would be a Jacuzzi tub. Kitchenette convenient. Include the breakfast buffet, better than a diner and also convenient and well worth the $. Felt bad for the dining room staff, they were so friendly despite being short staffed and dealing with some impatient and rude customers, and nice to see the manager helping out working just as hard on the floor.
