Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lack of Security I was very displeased with my stay this time. I have stayed at this location several times and am always put up on the 3rd floor of their Concierege level. This time I was on ground floor in another section of the hotel. I typically do not stay here on weekends but due to a business meeting on Saturday morning I stayed on Friday night. I noticed that the hotel was quite full. I got to my room which was fine but the number of kids running up and down the halls was very distracting but not a big problem. That is until it got to be 11pm and they were still going strong. I went to bed just to be woke up at 12pm, 1am, 2am with the kids still yelling and running up and down the halls. I can see the kids being up till 11 but it was rediculous to disturbed at 12, 1 and 2. I had to wonder where the security for the hotel was and why they were not controlling this. January 14, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No heat, No hot water, Happy New Year!!! This is the third time staying at this hotel and have always had a great experience. There will not be forth. We booked the New Years eve package along with my Brother and Sister in law. When we booked we asked for adjoining rooms with a Jacuzzi tub. We were told that they generally do not have two Jacuzzi rooms next to each other. However when the booking agent booked the room she said she found two with Jacuzzis "next to each other." When we checked into our rooms we were one of only four rooms that were outside the hotel. This was unfortunate due to the fact that there was a winter storm going through with temps in the single digits. Also the rooms were not adjoining like we asked for they were next to each other... They got that one past me. I went to ask for a different room and I was told that they were full and switching wasn't possible. She also said rather rudely that I should have specified that I wanted to be indoors when booking... I went away angry and went back to my room that was 62 degrees. I turned the heat up to 90 and went to dinner. Came back after dinner and the room was still 62 degrees. I went to the front desk again to tell them that the Heat wasn't working and asked for a new room again. Again I was told there was "nothing they could do" My wife convinced me that we were not going to let this get us down and went to enjoy the NYE party. The next morning I went to take a nice hot Jacuzzi in my really cold room and there was no hot water. Again I complained and was told they were aware of the problem... At check out the person in front of me was explaining to the person at the desk that he started in the room next to mine and was moved when he complained that the heat wasn't working. I asked the front desk why he was moved and I wasn't and he said he wasn't here last night, is there anything else he could do for me. I would like to also add that I am a holiday inn priority rewards member January 7, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by handicap room way too small We booked a handicapped room for my husband who is permanently disabled. He could hardly get into the room. Way too much furniture and way too small of a room. The temperature of the room would not go below 72 degrees even though I turned the air on. Then upon pulling the sheets down there was a bobby pin between the sheets. Made us wonder if the sheets had been changed. It is a decent place for families to gather. Very dark and definitely needs updating. I would definitely not recommend this hotel for handicapped accessibility!!! We did mention our frustration to the staff and they were accomodating as far as comping our room. December 30, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Impressed Among the worst hotel stays I have ever had. We were given an outside access room...IN DECEMBER!!! Our room had freezing cold air seeping in all night. Noisy drunk people making noise outside the room late at night. Could barely get our luggage in the room because it was tightly packed with furniture. Food at the restaurant was not that great either. Who offers bacon wrapped WATER CHESTNUTS? So disgusting. On checkout, told guy at counter about the cold air coming into room and he just shrugged. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great facility - really bad staff We have stayed here several times and it is usually a great experience. This time it was not the case. Super loud when we were trying to sleep, they had a tv cranked all the way up in the hallway with no one watching it at midnight. I had to go unplug it, so we could sleep. Staff was very rude, especially a manager in the pool area who was constantly hounding guests about very silly things. He actually yelled at us about having drinks near the pool that his staff gave to us! When we asked why did they give it to us if we can't have it hear, he gave us a lecture, I couldn't believe it. Next morning we had breakfast at the buffet and it was horrible. The pancakes were actually hard like crackers. It is really sad, if they had better customer service, this would be a great hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by French Quarters We stayed for a little get away for Birthday and also was the night before Thanksgiving. We had a pool side room and enjoyed sitting out on the chairs and watching all the children swimming. Room was very clean maybe not as fancy as some of the newer hotels, but had a frig, comfy pillows I forgot my pillow and thought oh no I am going to be sorry and we almost turned around to go get it. I was so pleasantly surprised pillow was nice and plumpy!! We went out to eat came back and went to the pool and hot tub. We visited with our neighbors who had a group of 27. I am thinking next year between the holidays renting 6 rooms and having the holiday party there so all of the kids and grandkids can really enjoy. It was not noisy when we went to bed and I must say we had a great time. Don't let the reviews change your mind. If you are in your 60's like we are and all the kids had there own plans we really enjoyed ourselves. We went to Nugaya which was in Perrsburg and will plan on another little Holiday retreat. We now bring our grand daughter. We love the French Quarters. The pools are clean and very well maintained. The rooms are clean and well stocked with towels.... The staff are amazing and very helpful.. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone . We love it there, and will continue to go there whenever we can. A great getaway weekend. As Commodore of a neighboring Yacht Club, we stay here quite often and always enjoy the time. The facility and staff are terrific, and we have never had an issue with the food service, wether service for two or a Commodore's Ball for 200. November 13, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by made up for ba experience I am able to say that being offered a free night stay due to our previous bad experience was in fact an awesome time. My children and I were able to relax and enjoy our time. The staff was exceptional this time. Our room was free of any smoke smell. It was very clean and centrally located to the pool. The hottub was perfect temperature as well as the pool. Thank you for giving us another opportunity to come back and see that you are as great as I have always known you to be in all my years of coming. November 7, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by waste of a night's sleep Toilet was made for a 2 year old..very low to the ground! Hotel needs a major reno & update. We were near the pool and the room's carpet was so stained and felt very damp. Chlorine smell was soooo strong in the room I almost had an asthma attack!! If we hadn't been so tired, we probably would have left. We were only staying overnight after a wedding but wished we would have chosen a different hotel. October 21, 2013

I was supposed to have a smoking room and this was changed due to renovations but i was not told until check in. The public space looked very out dated and the restaurant area look worn out (there was a cable hanging down by a table and the hostess just tossed it aside like it was no big deal). October 18, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Small-Noisy-Outdated Room Had a horrible experience at this location. Had a tiny room located in the side of the very noisy atrium. The toilet looks like one rescued from a day care center. It was only 13 inches high and very small. The mirror above the sink in the room had about 6 inches of paint missing from the frame. A little shot of gold spray paint would have gone a long way. The eggs on the breakfast buffet were abysmal. The worst I have ever eaten anywhere. The noise from the atrium even in the late evening made it hard to sleep. No way I am ever going back to this one. I haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn for a while. Now I am remembering why. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service My stay at Holiday Inn French Quarter the night of September 28, 2013 was so wonderful. I loved the room I stayed in, so very clean, dark & quiet. I was there for the reception of TC & ML (now Mr. & Mrs. L). The reception was beautiful. Thanks to all for the hard work it took to get it all together. The manager & all the servers, bar tenders, & any one else that worked at it I so appreciate. Kudos to your hard work & your friendliness as you all had a smile, so great to see as I know how tiring this can be.
