Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ozlee Great Location, Family Friendly, good value for money
We stayed at the Holiday Inn City Centre during our family holiday In Perth. We managed to get a great deal on the double double room which worked perfectly for my family of 2 adults and 1 child.
Appreciate also the fact that meals and accommodation was complimentary for children. We had very good breakfasts which got us ready for the rest of the day's holidaying. Liked the thoughtful and fussfree takeaway breakfast packs when we had to leave early for our day tour.
The location was also very convenient, right next to the Hay Street Mall... short walk from the restaurants at Shafto Lane, Perth Central Station, the jetty and North Bridge.
The concierges and staff were also very friendly and helpful with the information.
Will definitely choose to stay at the same hotel as our base on our next visit to Perth.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pb1994 Great hotel - reviews don't do it justice
I read a couple of reviews of this hotel on websites and had some misgiving about booking ( I was enticed by the inclusion of breakfast), but I found the hotel excellent and the staff were really helpful. The location is ideal and the room was fine. The breakfast was outstanding, free newspapers, beautiful fresh fruit salad and the yogurt was to die for. I'd happily stay here again and would recommend it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pennykmg Very convenient, but pre book Valet Parking
Recently travelled down from the country to attend a concert at the Perth Arena.
Location is very convenient, only a short walk to the venue.
However, we arrived quite late in the afternoon, and were leaving very early the next morning (4.30 am). We were disappointed to be told that the valet parking was full, and that we would have to park in a public car park in another city block. This was of concern as we (2 ladies) did not want to be dragging luggage through the city at 4.30 in the morning with the night club frequenters walking the streets at that hour. However, after explaining our concerns, the staff agreed to keep our car in the valet parking area. I would recommend that if you require Valet Parking you make a request for a valet reservation. Not sure if this possible, but it is worth a try.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Traveltraveller Not one of the best Holiday Inns I've stayed at!
Hotels in Perth are overpriced, and we all know why, but the Holiday Inn is a good example of how high prices don't automatically equate to a quality hotel.
The staff were pretty good, and did their best to be helpful. I suspect the owners and management, however, think that because their property can command a high price they don't need to do much for the customer. As a Platinum Rewards member, I felt this lack of concern for the paying customer.
Why was there no complimentary bottled water?
Why was there not even the remotest attempt to explain why an upgrade could not be offered?
OK, a complimentary bottle of red wine was placed in my room, but frankly I would have preferred a couple of bottles of water!
This is not the only Holiday Inn in Australia where owners and management do little to enhance the customer experience. Thank goodness they have staff who do go the extra mile!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pilbaratraveller Pleasant return
Before I had a permanent place to stay in Perth I stayed here many times on business and occasionally leisure trips. Having a temporary need to stay in the city rather than the suburbs on this stay, I booked into the Holiday Inn again. It's still the same familiar hotel and probably the public areas on the sleeping floors don't look as if they have changed much, but the room itself was very well presented and spotlessly clean. Nothing extravagant, but all I needed was there. The buffet breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and the convenience of the location can't be beaten. One negative - it's probably not the best location if you are travelling by car. Parking is limited and you may end up a short walk away from the hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Melib Felt very welcome
From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have been friendlier and wanting to help. The hotel is well located in the city and although parking is a hassle because the hotel is in town, we chose to pay for the valet service. It was efficient and so convenient. The weekend we stayed in Perth was very rainy and we didn't have to walk to our car so the $30 price was worth it and we could come and go as we chose. The beds were comfy and you could choose your own level of softness pillow.
We received a free little snack pack of food and wine daily and the coffee was either decent instant or plunger. There was an iPhone Dock and plenty of TV Channels.
We did not eat in the hotel as there were lots of options around in the area but the downstairs bar was certainly lively and well patronised on the weekend we stayed.
The room had excellent lighting which is a change from the last few places we have stayed in. Overall we were very happy with our stay. It was not especially romantic or luxurious but rather a convenient, well priced and comfortable experience.

This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The rooms are tired, the furniture old and in some cases beyond service - especially the bed mattress.
Come on Holiday Inn - its high time for you to provide us with the level of comfort that we see in other Holiday Inns in the region.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TerryL They understand business travel
I am a frequent business traveller who has a clear first preference towards IHG properties for a bunch of reason that mostly revolve around the value of the frequent traveller program. When I started travelling to Perth regularly in June 2013 it was a bonus to find there was a Holiday Inn across the street from our Perth office.
This is not a perfect hotel. The building had its challenges, it is in need to a refurb, the rooms are starting to look tied and it fills up quite frequently; but none of that stops this from being one of the better Holiday Inn properties i have used around the world.
The first point is the staff have a great familial attitude and really try hard to look after you, especially when you keep coming back.
The F&B Manager here has it fairly well worked out. Quality is good, prices are reasonable for Perth (which is generally way to expensive for its own good) and the ground floor restrauant is set up in such a way that you don't feel like a strange if you are dining alone.
The first floor Breakfast room has floor to ceiling glass that gives you a fascinating window on Perth as it wakes up for the day. The breakfast buffet is excellent though expensive with eggs cooked to order as part of the buffet price.
The hidden gem for the business traveller is the business centre tucked in out of the way near the ground floor bar. There are two good sized offices with working computers and printers offering a quite work area or a useful meeting room.
The location is great, you are right in the centre of town, an easy walk from everything with restaurants and cafes all around you. Even with a Crowne Plaza not far away I can't see a reason to move from this great HI.

This hotel is located very well.
The welcoming by staff is refreshing especially Alex being a regular.
This IHG Hotel is also the only hotel where I have been welcomed with complimentary items in my room and status actually recognised.
Whilst I enjoy staying here it starting to look and little tired.
Definitely recommend though.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DiBax Another Fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn
If you're staying in Perth, then this is the place to stay.
Trust me I have just spent 3 weeks in Perth at another hotel for work related time in the past month and their service was rubbish!
Holiday Inn is my place of choice to stay, from the welcome we get as a family, through to complimentary wine & papers, to the valet parking, NOTHING is too much trouble! I like that! I feel special when I stay here.
There are a lot of places that are just average especially in the "customer service" side of things. I am so sick of being treated badly by un-motivated staff and you will NOT get that here!
EVERY member of staff goes the extra mile, you even get your eggs benedict (or whatever you like) cooked fresh for you in the morning at breakfast!!!! NOW, that's SERVICE!!!
Well done to all of you, SERVICE WITH A SMILE - AWESOME! Pat yourselves on the back

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by steddyeddy67 staff were excellent
Really thought the staff were very good and extremely helpful friendly and kind. In particular Andrew on front desk. Also Ann the housekeeping cleaner for our room. The hotel and supposed King size room which is heaps smaller than other King rooms we have stayed in over all the hotel is old and run down. Breakfast wasnt great at all. Dont like that you dont get table service for coffee. Coffee maker machine pumped out horrible coffee. The only so called restaurant is the cafe bar 88 which was ok food horrible cocktails and not the greatest of places we thought. Appreciated the staff and that was all.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by raja4u2 Fastest check in and best recognition of a platinum experienced
The check in was incredibly fast and efficient and so was the check out. Staff very friendly and helpful. The best recognition I have experienced for Platinum at a Holiday Inn. Bottle of wine was given and some mini bar goodies!
On the negative - the breakfast welcome desk was very businesslike and insisting on signing the check /invoice even before shown to the table. A friend who was not a guest wanted to meet up and did not want full breakfast but a bowl of fruit and a cup of coffee but was told must pay for full breakfast.
Amazing in spite of the negative. More positives and I highly recommend - great location too.

Perfectly placed close to the shopping malls and eating/drinking establishments the Holiday Inn on Hay St is a great place to stay. The tiredness of the room and tiny bathrooms are easily outshone by the excellence of the staff. Where else would you pull into the valet parking on arrival with a puncture to be told dont worry, I'll change that for you. Tim didn't even know I was a platinum member, staying for an extended period or even checking in! All the staff make an effort to make your stay enjoyable and as for room service, you have to try the whiting!
I heard a rumour the hotel is going to be renovated which just makes the hotel better.

I was lucky enough to get an upgrade. Very happy with my stay and will be back. Free internet a big plus for membership level, its great to see a hotel group who understands this should be a standard service in any hotel room.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Notty Great, relaxing and very convenient
Very convenient and close, central to everything in the city of Perth. Room was lovely, clean. The only advice is get there early to get valet parking. Our first night we had to pay for parking 5 - 10 min. Walk away at Wilsons parking. First time we've had to do that. Have stayed at this hotel quite a few times. Love it! Staff are great and very helpful and make it an enjoyable stay. Recommend.

We decided to stay and dine at the Restaurant ,and were very well looked after be the Waitress " Zee " .
She was extremely friendly and accommodating to the whole family and we would like her to receive some sort of recognition for her very professional approach to her job, as were all the staff we dealt with which is becoming harder to find in most Perth Hotels.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Alison88 Great location, easy to relax here
This Holiday Inn has a great central location. There are restaurants nearby, good shopping - both everyday and designers in both directions - and the restaurants aren't far away either. Everywhere in CBD is walking distance from here. The free public CAT bus goes right by also - fantastic. The hotel itself is good - the rooms are well appointed, bed is comfy with an extra blanket if you feel the cold as I do, the shower is great and overall it's pretty easy to settle in here. The breakfast buffet is varied and offers fresh, delicious food. The service is marvellous - my check-in was friendly and efficient (thank you Alex!# and her follow up was much appreciated. I had only one tiny housekeeping issue - in five days-, it was dealt with immediately and very well, which was appreciated also. Staff are marvellous.
I have only two issues with this hotel:
#1# there is no fitness centre on-site, you must cross the road to another venuw to access a gym, and it's not a 24 hour one
#2) the ground floor restaurant has excellent food, thanks to their new, fabulous chef, and service. I really enjoyed the meal I had of Nicoise Salad and lovely breads, but the location and ambience is awful - it's like sitting in a drafty hallway. Guests would only come here to eat if they had to unfortunately,
Apart from that though, it's good and I'd stay here again without hesitation. Thank you.

Our family visit was very enjoyable. The staff were more than happy to help me...as I was wheelchair bound at the time. Location is great to shop & visit the city. Liked the mini update in the family room, especially the empty fridge (no temptations)
We were disappointed to discover that the pool is now closed, which takes a lot of fun out of the experience. Luckily the free internet and movie channel made up for that in a little way.
We didn't want to eat on the ground floor on Friday night with the children as there were lots of "Friday drinks" happening, unfortunately we didn't know that dinner was available on the first floor.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LeanneG66 Exceptionally Friendly staff
Loved our overnight stay here. Bit of a mix up with online booking as staff didn't realize we had our 3 year old Granddaughter staying with us, however within 5 minutes of being in the room a foldaway bed was on its way up. The beds were all very comfortable and the pillows were great. Complimentary goodies in the room was a nice surprise but my favourite part was the lovely staff they had working here. From the front desk, concierge right through to the cleaning staff, all were very friendly and happy and are an asset to the hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RPR37 Great Service! Very clean and comfortable facility.
The Service is by far the best I have seen here in Perth. They are extremely accommodating and take the time to get to know you on a personal level. They also have a very attractive food menu and with efficient room service to follow if you choose to dine in. Their breakfast buffet offered every morning is top notch! The rooms are comfortable and maintained daily around your personal schedule. They have the best casual sitting area both inside and outside of the lobby which is very open and large. We have even used their conference center for business meetings. The meeting room was quite affordable compared to others and this room was much larger. As a guest at this property you are allowed to use the fitness center located across the street for free. The fitness center is a great place to unwind. The hotel also offers secure parking for your rental.

We were travelling with two small children and found this hotel in an excellent location in the CBD close to the shops, restaurants, train station and bus routes. The hotel was comfortable and we had a room with two double beds which was a good size for the kids. Breakfast was included and was good quality in a clean restaurant area. The staff were excellent, very helpful and knowledgeable. All in all we were very pleased with our stay here and would highly recommend the Holiday Inn in Perth CBD.
