I recently spent four nights at the McKnight Road Holiday Inn as my husband was having cancer surgery at Passavant Hospital. The accommodations as well as the location were great! Everyone was the come-to-be-expected-in-Pittsburgh courteous and helpful. I am a bit prejudiced, but it's not like this any where else! I am a Pgh. native who has lived and traveled all over, and I can honestly say, "There's no place like home!" Thanks for making my stay a good one.

The bathroom had not been cleaned other than fresh towels, the toilet was dirty, the mirror had toothpast splatters. The mouth wash had been used and not replaced same as the shampoo. The bartender was missing for over 8 mins. One guest had her room burglarized the same day. I complained to night desk manager as well as am desk clerk, the GM has NOT called me nor emailed for my comments.

After a family funeral, 13 of us gathered in the restaurant on a Sunday morning to continue celebrating the life of our beloved mother and grandmother, Your staff had set the table for us and took care of us pleasantly and efficiently. The atmosphere couldn't have been more perfect for us. And because check-out wasn't until noon, we did not have to rush to get our luggage out of the room.

I stay here 2 days a week every week for over a year now. The staff is very friendly, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I have recently brought a couple co-workers with me and they have had similar experiences here as i have had. Rooms are always clean and ready for me to relax. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay no matter how long or short.

This property is under new management and is making phenominal strides in the right direction. The front desk personnel is very nice and bend over backwards to assist guests. The bar/restaurant personnel are very nice as well and super accomodating. To top it off, the Chefs typically make rounds for dinner to ensure that the guests are enjoying their meals. Lastly, the hotel manager, Joey, is actually seen greating guests.
This hotel is on its way back up!!!!

We just stayed at your Holiday Inn. It is a great location for anything in the North Hills or Pittsburgh.We had a very good experience.
The only small problem with the room was trying to figure out the heater, but eventually we did.
But what was GREAT about the hotel was the people who work there !!!!
Jen and Deborah at the front desk upon arrival were very helpful !
The man at check-out ( didn't get his name )was also very helpful with directions and offering help to clean the ice on my car.
We had a Birthday get together for my Mom's Birthday and Jen and Crista were very helpful in organizing it.
Leslie in the Bar/Restaurant went above and beyond in making everything turn out great ! You should let her know that she is an assest to the hotel and has great customer service !!!

Made reservation here to check out hotel, as I come to Pittsburg every month for business and stay at the Crowne Plaza, but the traffic to get to that area is too much. Anyways, checked out the reviews after making reservation and was then a bit nervous about my stay, but went anyways. Justin was there when I checked in and was wonderful and assured me my stay would be great! He was right. Everyone was very nice, the room was clean and nice and I was not bothered at all. I would love to make this my new home in Pittsburgh, will be calling the manager, Joey. Thanks Justin, for great customer service!

I experienced great service at this hotel. I had a horrible past few months, and staying here was just the comfort i was looking for. I want to especially mention Justin, he was the front desk guy, i think he was the manager, if not then he should be. He was so polite, comforting, and accommodating. He, as well as the rest of the staff, makes me want to stay there again.

The toilet constantly needed to be opened at the top to close the flap in order for the water to flow into the container and remain there. We reported this at checkout.
All evening long every now and then we heard water rushing through pipes somewhere through the walls of the bathroom. This was qaite loud and annoying. There was no water runnning in the room; it was only heard through the walls.

Upon arrival, there was someone else checking in. This person needed more time than usual and Debra, the front desk associate, made sure to tell me several times that she would get to me as soon as she could. As soon as that check-in was completed, Debra apologized for the delay, recognized me as a priority club member and checked me in with information that had been prepared ahead of time. Debra was exceptionally pleasant and positive and smiled constantly, something that is often missing from the many hotels I frequent. This was the most valuable part of my check-in. Debra proceeded to instruct me on my priority club perk options and pointed out how the pick-an-option was unique to this property. She offered assistance in making my stay pleasant. I asked for a breakfast menu and although one was not available at the front desk, Debra went to the restaurant and got one for me. Upon arrival in my room, I noticed that although all of the other amenities were there, there was no soap. I went down to the front desk and Debra was more than happy to get me some but there was none in the back so she went the extra mile and called housekeeping and soap was delivered to my room within minutes. Upon check-out, I ask about the location of a near-by restaurant and although the associate did not know personally, he offered to look it up on the internet and print out the directions. I asked to speak to the manager so that I could communicate the excellent service and the manager brought me into his office for a personal experience rather than discussing things with me in the lobby. This hotel understands what customer service means.

I travel frequently for work and typically choose to stay at Holiday Inns (at least once a week). I read the negative reviews for this hotel before I made reservations and figured that people just like to complain and it would be fine. I was wrong, very wrong. This experience was by far the worst I have ever had with Holiday Inn. The room was in poor condition; paint was chipping/peeling on the walls, the carpet was stained, the bathtub and bath surround were damaged, the toiled had brown stains covering the entire bowl, ect. I was afraid to touch anything in the room or bathroom because everything was in such disrepair. To top that off the power went out for about 2 1/2 hours that evening. When I mentioned/inquired about the power outage to the young lady at the front desk her response was "Oh yeah, I heard about that. I wasn't here last night so who knows what happened." No apology, no explanation, nothing. I will NEVER go back to this hotel and am rethinking making Holiday Inn my first choice when I travel.

Excellent rooms.. Great customer service... Floray at the desk was very easy to work with and accommodating I was traveling on business with odd hours and my early check in was no problem either.... I also Check out in the middle of the night so I was given a room at the end of the hall for a quieter sleep time for me. The Bar is a great night cap. Will stay in this hotel from now on.

Lots of restaurants to choose from. Room was very clean. Staff was very helpful and cheerful. This was my first stay at this property I come to Pittsburgh every week or so I plan on using this hotel from now on.

I love how all these Hotels want you to tell them how well they do when the toilets don't work, you have to hold the lever so it flushes showers are poor and the staff doesn't really care- they ask when you check out "How was your stay?" if you really tell them they say say "we're sorry" but the problems never change so why even mention it- I've done this for 35 years.

I would rather sleep in a cardboard box, in the parking lot than stay at this place EVER again. Staff and security was extremely friendly and tried to accomodate me, however I had to change rooms three times in three hours and the end result was I got downgraded in accomodations at the end of the day. Very unsatisfied and spent entirely too much money for the unadequent facilities.

Once you find this Holiday Inn it is in reasonably good shape for its age. Apparently there is a city ordinance prohibiting them from having a sign on the street. You have to know there is an alley next to Chipotles that leads back to a switchback lane to get up the hill to the hotel.
At exactly 5:55am the child in the next room began to yell. Not in pain but for fun! She also was running up and down the hallway and banging on the door. Around 6:30 I stuck my head out to complain and discovered the family had two rooms and the child was running between them with great delight!
When I contacted the front desk instead of doing something about the noise, she said the child was also playing with the phone calling the front desk many times! Is that the best service we can expect?

I stay at this often every month or two for work. It's the best place in the area within my company's price range. They still aren't the cleanest place (I've had problems with cleanliness in my room the past two stays). This trip my reservation, check-in, and check-out all went smoothly, which is more than I can say for previous stays here. The thing I like most about this hotel is its location- there are lots of shops and chain restaurants right in the area, some even walking distance, so I feel comfortable here. I also appreciate that the hotel offers a variety of pillows to choose from.

Dining room was grossly understaffed for breakfast on Sunday morning. Plus the only wait staff person was on her 2nd day. She was serving as hostess, waitress, and cashier. The breakfast rush had the area at full capacity and it took over 90 minutes to get 2 omelets. The hotel was at full capacity on Saturday evening so I would expect that the dining area would be staffed expecting a good portion of the guests would be dining there on Sunday morning. Due to the large rush of people and lack of adequate staffing the waitress got "stiffed" by a table of 10 because they deemed the service too slow so they failed tg leave a tip. The poor woman was working feverishly trying to get everything done but she was overwhelmed. Her efforts were complimentary. My criticism lies with the manager who put her out to dry in the first place. Very upsetting experience.
