Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Example for Customer Service I was in town for my grandmothers funeral and we arrived on Monday, Feb 9th. We literally dropped our bags off in the room and left to meet with family at St. Martin of Tours. We returned to the hotel an hour and half later to leave - grabbed our bags and headed to the front desk. Our decision was based on the impending weather alert - terrible ice and snow - major weather hazard Monday-Tuesday. My family was canceling the service and looking to reschedule the following week. Upon leaving I conveyed to the hotel front desk girl my situation and asked if I could cancel the reservation due to the circumstance and the fact that we didn't even stay in the room - only our bags. She said no, that I would be charged. I stood there in disbelief. When stating again my circumstance she just smiled and said that there was nothing she could do - outrageous! In the end I was charged $69.00 for literally dropping my bags off. I had driven all the way up from Washington DC to attend a funeral that was eventually canceled. I can't believe Holiday Inn would charge me for leaving my bags in a room for an hour and a half. No compassion what so ever. Rather than seeing me as a loyal customer - I was simply viewed as nothing more than a reservation and revenue. I will never use Holiday Inn again and I will be reaching out to Family, friends, coworkers and clients through the various social media groups we are a part of to convey my terrible experience with your hotel. Further, as an executive who travels frequently, I will no longer stay at a holiday Inn and I have informed our internal travel agent to remove your hotel chain from our system. I'm very disappointed that the staff of the hotel did not have any compassion or sympathy for me during this difficult time and only added insult by charging me. You have lost my business.
