1) dark low celinged rooms. felt like i was in a cave
2) front desk clerk couldn't even bother to turn around to
answer my questions because he was busy reading
a usa today (older caucasian guy#
3) while eating breakfast in their restaurant, a hotel
employee was emptying an ash tray right in front of
the window we were sitting at #i suppose she thinks
she was watering the bush by dumping wet cigarette buts on
it). we made it 100% clear that we thought that what she was
doing was disgusting particularly while we were eating
but she just ignored us.
4) does the manger or anyone ever occ roam the halls at night?

I am a long time Platinum member, and a frequent visitor to Long Island. I have been staying at the Plainview property for many years, but this is my first visit since the upgrade. I have to say I was very impressed with the room, the lobby, the bar, and the restaurant. all were first class. I will be a frequent guest as my business travel dictates.

This property has been meticulously renovated and has an amazing and welcoming lobby, bar and retaurant area that has a very open comforting feel to it. The rooms are practically brand new with great comfortable beds and large private bathrooms -- with the sink inside the bathroom. Would definitely stay again as a first choice when visting this area.

Very disappointed the room had no Refrigerator or Micro wave and the exercise equipment was broke. I asked if rooms come with refrigerators and the front desk said yes but they ran out.
Also maid service did not empty all the trash cans

I would definitely recommend this hotel for your next stay! The rooms were clean and modern, and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant also had some good cocktails, and the food was good as well. :)

Stayed at this hotel during a business trip and had a great experience. The hotel was newly renovated and the decor was warm and welcoming. The staff members throughout the hotel were kind and caring. The room was clean and smelled fresh. I had dinner at the restaurant and the food was absolutely fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be returning to this hotel during my next trip.

We were unable to stay at our home after the recent storm. The hotel staff was extremely caring. The room was both clean and comfortable.The menu in the restaurant was very upscale. The food items we ordered, especially dinner were prepared by a chef that deserves recognition. Not only were the dishes prepared to perfection, the presentation was beautiful. Would go back to the restaurant even if we were not staying there.

This was an exceptional stay at an IHG property. From the palatial feeling you get as you enter the lobby, to the friendly, helpful staff, to the updated fresh, clean room ... this was one of the best experiences I've had at any Holiday Inn! It is obvious that the property has undergone major renovations / updates recently. The room felt modern and gave me a sense of value for the price I paid for the 2-night stay. The little details all added up, including having enough outlets to charge my phones, laptop, and other battery powered devices. The attractive and friendly female front desk associates were conversational and extremely helpful, even recommending a great local restaurant within a few miles of the property. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and also recommend it to anyone staying in the vicinity of Plainview, NY. Thank you for a great experience!

Our reservation was made in error at the HI in Hauppauge. Our clerk at Plainview did a tremendous job in getting us in at plainviewHI. After some conversation with 800 holiday Inn they agreed to cancel HI in hauppauge with no penalty. A good resolution for us.

I am handicapped and also on oxygen. I had my equipment sent to the hotel. Brain was wonderful. He got all the things from my car and took everything to my room. It was wonderful to not only be greeted nicely but also to immediate be help in such a pleasant way.
