The stay was perfectly fine. The room was enormous. I can't comment on the food because I didn't eat there at all. The hotel is centrally located, and perfect for my purposes ( I have a friend who lives a few hundred yards away). However it was expensive and the prices seemed to change from day to day.
One minor gripe, the underground car park is tiny and spaces tight. I have a large car and had to pass up a number of spaces which were too tight to manoeuvre into. Only after the last turn and almost at the exit did I find a space. It was 8.30 in the evening, so I guess most guests had already parked.
On the other hand, a major PLUS. I left a charger in my room. When I spoke to "housekeeping " they found it and said they'd post it to me. IT WAS DELIVERED WITHIN 24 HOURS.

The weekend visit was to celebrate an important birthday and the Hotel met all my possible requirements.
The staff are both professional and friendly.
Every facility was excellent.
The value for money is offered at every cost.

As a Platinum member for years (& for a number of years), when in the area I always look to this hotel for accommodation. However most of the time the rates are too high, don't know why because the Hotel is in need of a renovation. The Hoe sells this Hotel, not the decor, which is a throwback to the old Queens Moat House days. When I do book the Hotel, I always have to ask for an upgrade room (usually declined! even when they are still selling upgrade rooms.)
Booked in for business purposes last week, again no upgrade & I had to ask several times to get the "upgrade" bottles of water sent to the room, definitely do not recognise Platinum IHG members.
Upon arrival found out why the majority of Hotels in Plymouth were fully booked, on the Hoe was a MTV music festival & the noise in the Hotel was horrendous, no apologies from the Hotel who were charging even higher rates than they normally do, the noise went on for 3 nights! Obviously not the Hotels fault, but to charge even higher rates?
