Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 487 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location and helpful staff Good hotel location with very helpful staff. Room was large but as with a lot of hotels, needs refurbishment/updating and much better lighting, i.e., chipped/scarred furniture, low-wattage lighting. Room cleanliness was standard, nothing special. Breakfast buffet was excellent. September 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Room Staying on Business, always det high standard of accomodation at Holiday Inn Plymouth, Room is very comfortable, easy to re lax and re charge batteries for next days work. Convenient location for local amenities (Barbican) with numerous restaurants and Bars, or just a pleasant stroll! Staff always friendly and helpful. Only downside is that the underground car park is somewhat restrictive for today's average car sizes! September 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Caring hotel team Great staff. Nothing too much trouble. Happy atmosphere. Fabulous views from hotel, particularly the restaurant. Queries and problems resolved immediately September 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Excellent customer service , very polite staff who made our stay very relaxed , organised , excellent food and room. September 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD VALUE Holiday Inn Plymouth gives good value for your money. Friendly and helpful staff, an excellent breakfast buffet, and its central location near Plymouth Hoe and Barbican make it an excellent choice for exploring Plymouth. It is also close to a large shopping district and only one mile from the train station providing excellent links to the surrounding area. September 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend getaway Very nice hotel very pleasant staff and lots of nice restaurants very close. Good access to Centre of Plymouth and seafront. September 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff Nice relaxed staff with a friendly outlook. It started with a nice greeting at reception with two very helpful and knowledgeable girls who asked the right questions. The food in the Pent House restaurant was superb and the service was great (especially May).our stay was only one night but will be looking to return for a long weekend. September 11, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good overnight stay Overnight stay in Plymouth on a Saturday night. Although there was a wedding in the hotel that evening, we were not disturbed by corridor noise or doors banging during the night, or noise from the reception itself. Large room with two double beds. Plenty of pillows, comfortable beds. Very clean. Room a little "tired" around the edges, but perfectly serviceable. Car park is EXTREMELY tight, especially if you have a larger car. Good location, easy to walk into the centre of town. September 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service, staff very helpful I would have given this 5/5 for every category but it was a very windy night and unfortunately the seal around the window was broken, vibrating, causing us to wake up with the only way to stop the howling noise was to open the window slightly. Otherwise this was a fantastic stay, the staff could not have been more helpful, particularly Megan who changed our room upon arrival and the check out girl on Friday 29 August (sorry can't remember your name) but you were very kind when I mentioned about the window.Everybody was friendly, genuine and professional, we used the bar, and also had a fabulous breakfast, only constructive criticism is that breakfast ended at 10.30 and by 10.20 the fresh fruit and yoghurts were being removed, I had to chase my natural yoghurt around!! We spent our wedding night here 28 years ago and intend to try and return now every year. Very impressed, beautiful location and great service. Thanks to you all, you know who you are. Fully recommended. September 9, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by nice hotel shame about some of staff and food poor fod indiferent staff on reception room not ready September 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great hotel What a great view from the restaurant. A genuinely friendly bunch of staff. Good size rooms. Just be careful that the postcode doesnt work on sat nav for the hotel - ring them up and they'll give one for a neighbouring building that does the job. September 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous views Great comfortable beds, speedy internet access, friendly efficient staff, service with a smile. Great location, plenty of parking and lots to do for families in the local area. September 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent location Excellent location, right next to a large seafront green. Staff were very polite and really helpful on several occasions. Facilities include a top floor (11th floor) restaurant (also for breakfast) with amazing views of the seafront, navy memorial and lighthouse. Hotel also has a nice mid-size swimming pool. Seafront has a few good cafes, restaurants and a large old-style outdoor Lido Swiming pool. Only disadvantage: given the closeness to the sea, there are quite a lot of noisy seagulls around... but that is what it's like at the seaside. Overall, had a very good time. September 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good location. Clean rooms. Had two nights as part of a family wedding. Room was light and airy, clean and tidy. Desk staff were very helpful from word go. Superb views of Plymouth and the Hoe from the rooftop restaurant, combined with decent food makes it worth visiting . Breakfast also good. Very nice pool area, again spotlessly clean. Would most certainly stay again. September 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good - as expected A comfortable stay for myself and family. Well located in the centre of Plymouth so easy to get around. Rooms were large and comfortable. Nice pool too. Staff were friendly and helpful. My only issue was that the car park was a bit small and tight to drive around in a larger car. September 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spacious family room in very good decorative order Ihave stayed at The Holiday Inn next to The Hoe on many occasions along with various combinations of my family. The accommodation has always proved to be of a high standard, the staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts extremely popular with the grandchildren!! September 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The best of Plymouth A great hotel with easy access to the Barbican and shopping centre. Much work has been done since our last stay and this has made this the place to stay when visiting this lively city. Cannot wait to go back. August 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Stayed for our wedding. Recently stayed for 3 nights for our wedding in Plymouth and we couldn't be happier with the hotel. Very welcoming staff on arrival. Nice big room which was cleaned to a good standard. Good facilities in the room, good sized tv, kettle with tea coffee, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Bathroom is small and looking a bit tired but was clean and plenty of hot water and towels. The restaurant is lovely. Great views all around (despite the rain) we had 3 breakfasts and 1 evening meal all of very high quality with excellent service. Having spent many years in the catering industry I am very critical of restaurants but I couldn't fault any part of the food or service (very rare occurance). Overall a lovely stay which just made our wedding by the seaside even more special! Thumbs up to all!! August 31, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not happy They put us on the ground floor family room it was dark and dull. The bed was very hard like sleeping on a piece of wood not suitable for someone who has back problems like me it was awful couldn't sleep properly. They told me that all the rooms have the same beds. The restaurants staff was rude didn't greet us and they showed us where to sit. They put us away from the window view not once they put us by the window also they were rude to my daughter. Also i found a short hair in the food not mine i have a long hair! Bad WiFi. BAD SERVICE August 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Large room with fantastic views. We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Holiday Inn Plymouth. It is ideal for visiting the Hoe August 30, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by What I expected from the Holiday Inn. I found the shower water pressure to be poor. Possibly low water pressure or the shower head needs de scaling. August 30, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed20 Poor customer service throughout starting at reception, dated interiors and carpeting which would benefit from shampooing, bedroom doors tired an required painting. Room was upgraded with good views across sea and clean though would benefit from refreshed decoration and dining more cafe style with no ambiance but good views over town. Beware hotel parking inside if you have a large vehicle as very cramped and tight turning. Claustrophobic. Sadly not value for money. Won't stay in this one again. August 28, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Room and bathdroom condition Dissapointing and outdated for a 4 star hotel. I would not recomend the hotel. Furniture was scratched and old and bathroom shower pressure weak and decoration old and small. August 28, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by looking tired Great size room for a family, but if honest the room was looking very tired and the bathroom though adequate, was very small and dark. Great location but on arrival looks like it needs a bit of tlc. Staff brilliant, very helpful. Hotel of such a size could also benefit with a decent size gym and pool. August 26, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good service, poor facilities Went to Plymouth for the annual fire work competition, I have been a number of time previously; however this was the first time in Holiday Inn. The location was excellent between the City Centre and the Hoe. My friend is in a wheelchair and we booked a disabled twin room. The room was big enough to manoeuvre in the wheelchair; the bathroom did not have a disabled shower. We tried to use the disabled show in the gym, the lift up the three steps wasn't working. The air conditioning and one of the lamps in the room didn't work. Had to pay an extra £5 a day in addition to parking charge to reserve a disabled space! The staff were friendly and the restaurant was nice, with good breakfast and evening meal. The decor of the rooms looks as if it hadn't been updated for years, the facilities needs to be better to go back there again. August 25, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bad outlook Unfortunately the room overlooked a flat roof with a lot of rubbish right outside the window. Also I have stayed in this hotel a few times and never been given an upgraded room, as all the rooms are spacious this is not a problem except that this time the outlook was particularly bad. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience, fabulous location Could not fault . Had a great size family room and breakfast was wonderful August 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great room, well trained happy staff On arrival the staff were helpful and relaxed. We enjoyed great views across the Hoe from our room and the breakfast room. Our room was comfortable, well furnished and quiet, and we slept very well in our huge bed. The pool is of a high standard and not crowded. Breakfast was good but nothing special. If we return to Plymouth we would stay here again. We may well do, as the Barbican area was a revelation. August 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Very Happy with our stay Very happy with our stay would come again, excellant staff.Thank you August 23, 2014
