My partner and I booked the holiday inn for a weekend away with the children and we weren't disappointed. The location is brilliant and the hotel staff were all really friendly and helpful with anything we needed.we would definitely stay here again, the room was very spacious with a great view and the swimming pool and other amenities made it feel really relaxing and special.
Thank you for a wonderful trip away.

Good but I often do not stay here because the cost is so much more than competitive hotels in the same area.

Stayed at this hotel several occasions but never used room service previously. As arriving and feeling tired decided on this visit to use that facility, not something I would recommend very disappointing food not to usual standard for this hotel.

Good hotel, good staff, only negative comment would be regarding the lack of power outlets at bedside for charing phones overnight.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Damson17 Disappointing this time
A last minute winter break at a hotel we have previously really enjoyed staying at was very disappointing considering the 'last minute' cost of a night in a standard room with breakfast.
The bar and reception area was lovely with excellent service. Up in our room though things were not so smart. The shower spluttered out a bit of water and it then took brute strength to turn it back off. The bedroom wall was covered in a previous guests coffee and despite changing the heating, it was freezing cold! Drunken revellers pretending to be superman in the corridor in the early hours didn't help us to sleep in the already uncomfortable bed!
A disappointing barely warm breakfast followed by a swim ( where on arrival I was told ' if you want a towel you will have to go and get one from your room - we are busy and have run out') saw the end of our stay. Such a shame.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by VY12 Great service, excellent new updated reception area
I stay at Holiday Inn quite a few times a year and you know what to expect as the hotel chain is run very well. The new updated reception area at the Plymouth Holiday Inn, is light bright and airy and a pleasurable place to eat. Would be good to see this extended to the bedrooms as some are looking tired, outdated and grubby. Staf very helpful and attentive, and bar food was tasty.

Slightly strange experience this. There are parts of the hotel that Are lovely, like the reception bar area and lounge, but other areas like the corridor outside our room that are adorned in brown that don't look like they've been touched since 1970. Our room was a good size, but the bed was too soft and "air con" only blew hot? The receptionist said this was normal, despite the controls being the same as every other holiday Inn I've stopped in. You should warn people of this in your Web site as our room was far to hot, I personally won't stop here again for this reason. The room was showing it's age, dirt in corners and by the skirting boards, wear and tare in the bathroom. I could only just get under the shower head and I'm only 5'11". The room needs a complete refit. Having the car park onside is a bonus and the view from breakfast was lovely. The staff were charming as ever and are a credit to you. I've

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Diogenes1953 A very good business hotel
I stay at the Holiday Inn in Plymouth for about three weeks a year on business. It has recently had a facelift, and the public parts are now very good, with private corners where you can have meetings, and comfortable chairs. The food is reliable, if not exciting) and there is a good variety available at breakfast. All the staff - reception, waiters, bar staff, cleaning staff - are very friendly and efficient. There is a very good swimming pool, and there are two well-equipped fitness rooms (one for cardio machines, one for weights.
It is not the quaintest hotel in the world, but it is a very good place stay on business.
