Don't get a single queen room unless you are a fan of trains. The only thing louder than the constant rail traffic was the dysfunctional heater unit. Want clean sheets? You'll have to beg. This place was horrible!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JJ503 Love the Renovations!
Hotel is looking great! Have been utilizing this hotel for park-n-fly services through PDX for years. The staff is always professional. Check in is always smooth as can be. Shuttles to and from airport are timely and convenient. Whereas the hotel was previously feeling run down, the new renovations have it looking very nice, with a much more modern feel, and more in keeping with the newer hotels in the area.

Room was clean and comfortable. Airport shuttle works 24/7 and that was great since we were delayed and arrived at the airport after midnight.

We stayed on the top floor and you would not know you were near an airport ......... it was very quiet. The room was just what we paid for and we loved it. I would recommend it whole'heartedly and we will be back again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Geena Rooms are "tired" ... and wait until the remodeling is completed
The staff was very friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible, all things considered. We had a room on the "Executive" Level so I was expecting something a little more special than the usual hotel room. It was disappointing - the room was very plain with no table, no microwave or mini-fridge, even the closet was out in the open. The bathroom was nice, although there was no convenient place to hang the handtowel, so had to hang it over the shower rod. There was a "club" room on the Exec floor and it was nice to be able to grab an apple, cup of coffee or bottle of juice from there. When we went down for breakfast in the morning, the service was very slow - the wait staff knew this and kept apologizing but that didn't get the food to us any quicker. People were also waiting to be seated for quite some time - don't know if they were just short-staffed that day or what. After we'd placed our food order and were waiting for it, all of a sudden the remodeling work started up from behind a large curtain nearby. Pound, pound, pound!! It was extremely noisy and distracting. I'm sure many folks would have gone elsewhere for breakfast if they'd known that would be going on. So, if you are planning to stay there in the near future, I'd suggest asking about the remodeling. And don't expect anything fancy in a room on the Exec Level.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nichole222 Second stay and just as impressed as I was with the first
After staying in February with my sister we loved this HI so much we decided to stay here on spring break with our mom and brother. We booked the hotel about 20-30 minutes before arriving after stopping to shop on the way. When we arrived James greeted us and had remembered us from our previous stay. We were very impressed by this. He has made both of our stays completely enjoyable and fixed/helped with any issues/questions we may have had. We originally booked for one night and checked out, but while shopping the next day we decided to stay an extra night in Portland instead of heading to Seattle. Again we booked the room at the very last minute and they were all very helpful. The only two issues the entire stay were the pool being out of service the first night, but it was remedied they had a shuttle service that took us to their sister hotels pool and it was fixed by the next morning, and the first night we got a room right next to the linen room and we could here the washers/dryers all night long. The second night we asked to be moved down the hall further and the lady at the front desk was more than willing to change our rooms. Definitely will be coming back anytime we are in Portland!!

Arriving at 2:30 in the morning I was glad this hotel was easy to find. Staff was friendly and room was surprisingly quiet for being so close to the airport. Comfortable beds clean room.

The hotel is ok. However its near train tracks and highway. Hence there is constant noise issues. Additionally I couldn't access my company email system. Something, somehow the hotel internet system was blocking my access. I tried for good hour with my company IT dept to fix this. Nothing work. Hotel internet support team was no help. Hence I checked out.

I have been looking for a hotel close enough to the airport but not to close. Driving distance was perfect and did not hear any airplane traffic. Hotel was getting remodeled but still in clean condition. Staff was very welcoming and really made me feel special. I will return thank you!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Flyingnotes1 Best park and stay hotel by the airport
We've used this hotel last three times we have flown out of PDX. The price is awesome, the hotel lovely, rooms extremely clean, comfortable and modern. Shuttle is always available, timely and dependable. Food is very good. One breakfast was poorly prepared and cold, but the waitstaff made it right and didn't charge us without us even asking, which we considered 1st class service. Overall a great value. We try to recommend it to our friends.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nichole22 First time staying at a Holiday Inn and will not be the last! :)
My sister and I made a trip to Salem for her nursing school and decided to stay another night but go north to Portland instead. We started booking the room online and had a few difficulties and it was getting late so we called to reserve a king room instead. I ended up talking to a lovely young lady that helped us book a room and it was cheaper than what we had found online. We were excited just for the room being less expensive, but on arrival we found out that the room was also better than the room we thought we had booked. We had booked a single king room but received a executive king suite on the top floor that came with access to the club room and two certificates for our breakfast at the restaurant the next morning. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable! Every staff member we encountered was amazing and very friendly. The waitress we had at at the restaurant was super friendly and was very patient with us. The food was decent sized, but a little pricey. The cinnamon roll french toast was delicious. Our stay was during the lobby remodel so it was a little confusing to get to check-in, but there was absolutely no bothersome noise. We have both decided we would definitely come back for a future stay.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by lconnell18 Great Shuttle Service
Our shuttle driver (Mark) was an absolute gem. Remembered our names and had great advice on where to go. Even pulled over and explained the map at the train station. On another occassion he came into a restaurant with us to get a "feel for the place" in case another client asked about it.
I would stay again just for Mark's shuttle service.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Contessla Best Holiday Inn I have ever been to!
This specific Holiday Inn was my most pleasant hotel experience of the Portland Metro area, and I travel here frequently. Although they were renovating the lobby area during my stay, the construction noise could not be heard. The room service was excellent, albeit a little pricey, the staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and prompt, and the rooms were tastefully renovated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the location was great (about 5 minutes from the airport, near the MAX rail line, and about 15 minutes from downtown). I would definitely recommend this hotel, and plan on staying again soon.

We had a great stay, checkin was easy, the staff was great. The hotel is being renovated but there was minimal impact on the guests. I had a family emergency and had to leave early so I went to the front desk and they were very helpful. I was able to cancel my second night and checkout later than usual. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by oldbart Older facility with updated rooms
I used this hotel many years ago because of it's proximity to PDX. The building is dated and was under comprehensive construction in the lobby during my stay that made the experience challenging and inconvenient to say the least. Lost hot water for some hours during the early evening. No mention of the ongoing construction was apparent on the website which was unfortunate.
On the good side, the staff was nice enough. The resturant and bar had good food, rooms were smallish, but updated and clean.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by bnow38 Good Value for your Dollar
This Hotel is an excellent value for your dollar. The staff are an amazing group of folks that still remember who the customer is and that we travelers have many options. You will always get a warm smile and a freindly hello from everyone at this facility. If your not looking to venture out much all that you would need is available at this Hotel as well. Excellent food in the resteraunt, a cozy bar with outstanding service, workout room, pool, etc. Additionally, although close to the Airport, it is still far enough away that noise from the planes is not an issue.
For priority club members, they will recognize you as well with discounts on food which help make the stay all that much more enjoyable.
The Hotel is currently under construction, so try and keep that in mind and be a little creative in your thinking while staying at this Hotel. I'm sure that once it is fully completed it will match the atmosphere of the delightful little diamond in the rough that it is.

I came at a bad time. The hotel is underconstruction, so it was a bit rough. THe neighborhood is not the best, homeless people, adult shops and drug shops abound. I also recieve a bill for 25 dollars on my card that was supposed to be 14 dollars so whoever operated the credit card machine in the diner helped themselves to a big than deserved tip. It works in a pinch but use cash and dont expect much.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sophia4 Good Hotel - going through construction
I have stayed at this hotel several times and have had no problems. This time the front lobby was closed and you had to go around to the back to a temporary lobby. I was going to eat dinner in the restaurant but the noise (6pm) was so loud from the construction that I decided against it. I know that you have to make the best of it during construction and all of the staff were very nice. The shuttle driver that picked me up at the airport on 1-24-13 was the nicest driver I have ever encountered and I travel weekly He should be praised as he is a great asset.
I am a plat. member and was not offered water at check in which is unusual.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HomerB Feel at home
I've found the staff to be very personable and helpful. Although the lobby was being remodeled it was no inconvience at all. I get up at 4 and they had coffee availiable. That was wonderful.
They also had something I haven't seen before. A hospitality room for priority club members. It had coffee and snacks that were well appreciated. I hope that idea catches on for the rest of the chain. It is nice to get some coffee when I wake up.
I put Location as a Con because it was tricky trying to figure out how to get to where I was headed and got turned around a few times. Once the staff gave me directions it wasn't bad at all but I would have never figured it out on my own.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ballou49 Worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed so far.
I am a platinum member and stay only at Holiday Inn & Express. This property is under construction the hallways smell like a old building. The room had been up dated but it was a old bed and the heater made so much noise we could not leave it on. We froze in the room I have slept better camping. The water had to run for about 3 to 5 minutes to get hot. I always take a look at the photos of a property before I book a room and it showed new rooms and 3.6 stars. I would rate this property 2 star max. Could not be more disappointed with my stay.
