The bed looked okay but the mattress is saggy and pillows didn't smell clean Picked this hotel for proximity to Portland airport but I will not return to this Hotel. Good we only stayed there for the night. The room smelled, carpet looked dirty, bed saggy. I asked for the pillows cases to be changed because of the smell but did not make much difference. The staff were helpful though. I used my rewards points and it is not worth it. We have had good stays with Holiday Inn but this one was not a pleasant experience for us. September 5, 2014

Taylor at the front desk greeted us and she was so helpful in making sure we had everything we needed and did a great job at making us feel welcome. It was my son's first trip to Portland, and he was there for College visits. He could not say enough how much he enjoyed the hotel, how clean it was and the great service we received. It extended to every area of our stay. The restaurant staff was just as friendly, and the food was very good. When returning to Portland (which now will be somewhat often). I will not stay anywhere else except this Holiday Inn Portland ariport. September 2, 2014

Not convenient for those catching an early flight. Not to mention the staff was late the morning of our departure. Missed breakfast at the hotel and had to buy something at the airport. Michael W. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Generally good but some rooms are noisey I stayed twice at the start/end of vacation on the way from/to the airport. The room for the first stay was fairly quiet, the room assigned for the second stay suffered greatly from outside noise from a railway/railroad that had loud goods trains all through the night. The hotel staff kindly moved us to a quieter room. Wifi was available with strong signal in all locations I tried but was very slow. The provided buffet breakfast was ok but had limited selection, but they provided paper cups to take away any undrunk coffee. The pool was more a leisure/lounge pool than swimming pool and, oddly, had no obvious changing rooms. Staff were helpful and attentive. The hotel and room clean and tidy, fairly modern. Overall I would recommend, but avoid rooms that face the railway. September 1, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Bed & Pillows The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Staff very friendly. It could have been our room, but there was no place to hang any towel except in shower. Slow drainage in shower. Asked for maintenance to come, but they never did. Told front desk when checking out 2 days later that they might want to fix drainage before next guest. Convenient to airport with shuttle service. August 30, 2014

Surprised that hospitality coffee was only available 3a.m. - 6a.m. And no continental breakfast since that is now usually a given. Also no fridge or microwave in rooms. My favorite room is always ready, the amenities are great and everyone is always there with a smile and call me by name. I will truly miss everyone. Trina - no one makes a more "perfect cosmo" - thank you my friend - you are a joy to be around and have brought me back to the Holiday Inn every week! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room was good I stayed on both ends of a long trip. On my way back our room was a handicap bathroom which was fine. However the shower head fell off ever time we turned on the water. I was also disappointed to find out that this particular hotel did on offer continental breakfast. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good stay, no air Good stay, can't really say too much about it as I was only there to sleep, and didn't really get to use any of the hotel's amenities. The automatic upgrade system was great, got me in the best room in the building without me having to constantly call back pestering the staff for an upgrade. Staff was excellent, as is usually typical at Holiday Inn/HI Express properties. Just remember, as a brand, Holiday Inn does not have open-able windows, so if you crave fresh air you will be disappointed. August 21, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by beware of cleanliness This was my experience during a two week stay. Room was located next to fan room so it was noisy 24/7. Requested sheets to be changed three times during the day until finally got them. Three days later I stripped the sheets of the bed, stepped over them and requested them to be replaced just to find them back on the bed. UNSAT. to top it all off I requested a microwave(since there wasn't one in the room, also no fridge) fromt desk said there was a waiting list and I was first one on it. Twelve days later I checked out and never got one. If it wasn't because we had a large group staying I would have moved right away. For the price you are better off somewhere else. August 21, 2014

While it was about 30-40 minutes on the metro to reach downtown, the free shuttle service to and from the metro, EXCELLENT customer service, fun and friendly staff, and reasonable price made the stay well worth it. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient parking I had a very early flight and needed convenient airport parking for a decent price. While it would've been cheaper just to leave my car in airport parking, staying at the Holiday Inn allowed me to get a little more sleep the night before my flight, which is always helpful when you have to be up early. The room wasn't the most luxurious or exemplary hotel stay I've ever had, but I was there for long enough to grab a bite to eat (off the children's room service menu, because everything else was over priced) and a couple hours of sleep before my flight and left my car where I could access it quickly and easily upon my return to Portland, and that's really all I needed. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a family hotel We are no strangers to IHG hotels but were surprised at how disappointed we were in the Portland Airport Holiday Inn. The rooms were clean- that was the pro of our stay. The cons were- double beds....YIKES, small! No free coffee in lobby....but also nowhere NEAR adequate coffee in rooms. Guest laundry was ridiculous- one facility with one washer/dryer, no help from staff when I was waiting 45 minutes just for the guests to come empty their already finished loads of clothes. Pool is not easily accessible- you must go through the restaurant/convention area, so wear clothes over your suit if you don't want everyone seeing you in your swimwear! There is also only a small pool, no hot tub. In a nutshell, this just didn't feel at all like a family hotel. Obviously geared toward business travelers and government officials (guessing from the blocked off parking spaces for single black SUV's, despite the already overflowing parking lot) August 10, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and Food and Service but facility in poor shape The staff were ALL very personable and very helpful and very nice. The restaurant and banquet service and food was very nice. The restaurant was understaffed but all the servers were good spirited and helpful and they even added a luncheon buffet because of the size if our group. I have great respect for the employees (except the Manager who was not a pleasant person) and wait staff but ... the housekeeping staff were all pleasant (considering most spoke no English) but they did not do a good job of cleaning and/or restocking the rooms. Wasn't terrible but a prime example is the only way to get replacement bathroom tissue was to place the empty rolls on the counter. This is a fairly large facility that is in poor condition. The public areas aside from the lobby, are not well kept. The carpet throughout the facility in both the hallways, and atrium, and the rooms were all in poor condition and were not at all clean. The hallways were kept at a consistently high temperature - high enough to be uncomfortably hot. There are only 3 elevators that are placed in a strange location and one was not working properly the entire week our group was there yet they never shut it down for repair. The facility is located in an industrial area, nothing was nearby except factories and warehouses. Additionally train tracks run right in front and frequent trains using their horns made sleeping or daytime resting problematic Overall the facility was very disappointing but the staff helped make the week go by OK. I would not ever plan to return nor would I recommend it. Sorry staff, you make a grand effort but the facility overwhelmed August 8, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not for the money, unfortunately We have stayed in many, many Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express Hotels - this is the first that we were totally and completely disappointed. For the extra money we paid for the "business executive suite" it was no larger than a matchbox - could not fit the luggage around the king bed. The bathroom was not clear, especially the bottom of the tub. The A/C unit would not shut off and was very very noisy. The room did not smell clean - smelled old and musty and the carpet was very dirty. Sorry Holiday Inn, but this is definitely the worst experience we have had - we have never experienced anything like this in the over 30 times visiting the various Holiday Inn establishments. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disapointing While looking for a hotel near PDX my wife and I felt comfortable choosing Holiday Inn. Not being familiar with the area but with Holiday Inns we expected a LOT more from this hotel. Positives - Close to Airport, ample parking, fast check in. Negatives - Restaurant is overpriced, food is barely edible and service is horrendous. Given the only option is to eat in the hotel based on the neighborhood and proximity to anything to eat you are at their mercy. Rooms are dated and noisy. You can hear guests talking in adjacent rooms and in hallway with ease. I have stayed at many Holiday Inns and this one was the worst by far. We payed a good sum of money for the room and were really let down. August 7, 2014
