Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable clean rooms, poor management Although my room was very comfortable and housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping it clean daily. The management is lacking in club member satisfaction. I stayed at this location for 11 nights prior to having my company book the nights I called to inquire about member points based on the clc rate. I was told the stay would qualify and I would receive member points based on each nights stay. Well found out a week after checking out, Opps, staff member misinformed me on that call. Management s told to call rewards program to request my points as only they could issue them to me. Well, called member services and of course they said it was up the hotel to make it right with me and they opened a complaint file regarding the issue. Needless to say, no points, no apologies. I defiantly had options on where to stay and would not of stayed here for 11 nights, that's a lot of points to lose out on! October 5, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very accommodating and friendly service My husband and I were in Portsmouth to attend a funeral. The staff at the hotel was very accommodating, allowing us to check in early to get ready for the funeral. They gave us a bereavement discount on our room rate and made sure that we had everything we needed. We would stay at this hotel again; the hotel staff made our stay very pleasant and stress free. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Express-the best in comfort! On my 6th day of an 8 day bicycle tour, I arrived at Portsmouth in the pouring rain. I dried myself and the bike off as best I could before going into the lobby. The front desk clerk was most cordial. When I was concerned about being on the 3rd floor, he assured me that most bicycles fit in the elevator. The hot shower felt great. The bed and pillows were most comfortable. I enjoyed the convenience of eating supper in The River House (the hotel restaurant) without having to go back out into the rain. And my sore leg muscles enjoyed the whirlpool. The next morning, I missed having a "complimentary" breakfast, but the cook and waitress in The River House made me a great breakfast before I continued my journey. September 23, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room with a river view? This motel is the only chain motel in the downtown area. We were told our room was on the river side. The only view we had from the second floor was the building across the street. The front desk was very helpful in accommodating our needs. It was late at night and there were no rooms available when we initially asked (we had no reservations). They began calling near by motels (that were just out of town) to see if they had any rooms. As they were checking they received a cancellation and gave us that room. The motel restaurant service was a little slow due to being under staffed. The hostess was also our waitess. After our order was placed she disappeared for sometime in the back where our food was being cooked. Other guess that arrived after us waited more that normal to be seated. September 23, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Business Stay Hotel is not smoke free as stated and advertised to customers. Bathroom dirty. On two separate stays hair was found in the bathtub and bathroom floor. Staff seemed unconcerned when alerted to the above concerns. September 18, 2015
