The Holiday Inn Portsmouth is probably the nicest hotel in the area. The hotel has been updated and is fairly good shape, for what looks like an older design. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was courteous at check-in and check-out. I may stay here again.

The bed has seen much use and is ready to be replaced, also pillows were nice but soft.

The staff was excellent. Everything I would expect a hotel to be. I would definitely return to the Portsmouth, OH Holiday Inn. Which I have done for many years.

The Holiday Inn in Portsmouth is located near the River with a view of an Iconic bridge. The building is old and underwent a complete remodel around 2011. While recently remodeled and updated the building still feels old. There are various things that were poorly done which come off as lack of attention to detail such as crooked tile in hall ways, Old beat up looking metal doors, missing strike plates on some guest room doors and stains on the carpet on some areas.
The hotel staff all did a good job and reflect good training. They were courteous and professional.

My room was clean and well appointed. The service was very good and I appreciate the hotel. I plan to return soon.

A single elevator for a five story hotel...don't be in a hurry. No way to take a set of stairs up because the door is outside without the ability to open it from the outside. Room was dirty and the WifFi was terrible. Held the room key hostage at check-in until I agreed to sign a piece of paper that changed the Terms of Service whereby they would charge me a late fee of 2.5x my room rate if I failed to checkout by 11 am.

I travel frequently and love how consistent the staff service and room quality is every time at this hotel. The staff is friendly and greets me by name. Always gets my room preference exactly where I want to be and I usually sleep better than any other hotel I frequent. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are always clean and welcoming. Highly Recommend.
