Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2 Week Stay Taking a few moments to pass on a positive review of my stay at this Portsmouth location. Location was very convenient to the Navy Base as well as downtown and shopping. The room was fine, and housekeeping took good care of the cleaning. The front desk staff, specifically Shannon & Rebecca were absolutely wonderful and always extremely helpful. Management should give them a huge pat on the back for their great customer service. When business takes me to Portsmouth again, I will stay at this location again because of the great customer service. November 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by review We found the portsmouth Holiday Inn to be very clean. We enjoyed our stay there. We ate breakfast and the food was very good and well prepared. The staff gave us to go cups of coffeee which we found very nice. Check in and checkout was very quick. The overall decorations of the front were very nice. The fire place was beautiful. The only problem was the bar did not have a designated bar tender so w were left alone while she delivered room service. Other then that there were no complaints at all November 20, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by old outdated I switched from staying at Res Inn for business and pleasure due to the amenities and comfort. I was extremely disappointed with the Portsmouth Holiday Inn. 1. There was no preferred check in 2. The beds were horribly uncomfortable 3. Rooms bathroom etc were in poor condition 4. I was awoken by a large group of intoxicated people that the staff rented a room to at 3am. 5. I asked the front desk staff to ask them to quiet down and nothing was done. 6. Had to pay for breakfast 7. Cardio/exercise room too small for size of hotel November 18, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK It's really too bad that the bathroom was rather dingy and the AC did not work because otherwise this would have been a fantastic stay. The room was updated and the bed and pillows were comfy the hotel is right near downtown Portsmouth which is key. I have to say we did not contact the hotel about these issues to give them a chance to rectify them, it wasn't worth the hassle of moving as we only spent the one night. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel needs a serious overhaul in my opinion The 2nd floor of the hotel smelled really bad, especially in the hallway (it seemed like the carpet was foul). The room smelled really bad by the door, and it was obvious that housekeeping sprayed air freshner to mask the smell. Unfortunately, the freshner wears off and you then the foul smell returns. I would not go back until this hotel has been overhauled. This is a shame, because I have stayed here in the past, a few times, and it has been fine. November 13, 2014
