Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff, bad infrastructure I would like to give this hotel a good review because of how friendly and helpful the staff, including restaurant wait staff, were. They made an indifferent experience much better. But that did not make up for the hotel itself being flawed. This started with having a hard time even finding the hotel on the street because their "Holiday Inn" sign was burned out on the side that faces the freeway exit. Staff helpfullness got me there after a phone call, though. Then, the first night I was there, the restaurant staff were very friendly - but even with my being the only one in the dining room, it took more time than usual to get my meal to me - and this continued for both dinners and a breakfast. And the place was not even near busy. The food was good once it arrived, though. Finally, the first night and morning I had no problem getting hot water in the sink or shower. That was the last time I got more than lukewarm even after wasting water running it to get warm. The water was a little hotter for the last night's shower, but not much. Granted, it was being used as the "show hotel" for a cat show, but I stay in convention hotels all the time, due to my business, and have not encountered the hot water problem. It was not a matter of waiting a long time; the water never got beyond barely warm enough to shower. Positive - it was quiet and had free wifi. But bring your own pillows. There are signs in the lobby that it's going to be renovated - suggest they start with the infrastructure before tackling redecorating. I'm sorry to give this poor review as I like IHG hotels and stay there by preference. But I won't be going back here, I think. January 8, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK for a one-night stay This hotel is fine if you're looking for a place for a night or so - however, if you're looking for a decent pillow, or perhaps a mini-fridge or a microwave, you may want to look elsewhere b/c you won't find those items here. We were also concerned with the cigarette burn hole in the linen protector (where you place your feet if you lay on the bed with your shoes on), eventhough this was supposed to be a non-smoking room, as well as many other various stains on the chair and the walls. By far, this particular HI was below my standards of what I've come to know of the branch hotel, but sooner or later every hotel needs to make some upgrades/changes and I'm confident that if this location will do that, they'll shine like the rest. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No hot water for 2 days in room. Just unbelievable for a Platinum member...made reservations at this place for my wife and mother in law to go shopping at Crabtree. Sounds as if they are renovating....bad experience for the money spent. ...they also would not let charge stay on my IHG Mastercard that I made reservation with since she didnt have that particular card with her? And they even talked to me on phone...so I didnt get points I would have gotten. She had to use another card. January 1, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice time to relax was in the area doing some holiday shopping and didn't feel like driving back home in crowded traffic. We decided to stay in Raleigh and found this Holiday Inn to be a very good find. The bar was very friendly and reasonably priced. The rooms were very clean and quiet. I would highly recommend this location when staying in the downtown Raleigh area. December 17, 2014
